Chapter 538: Where Is It?
Black Midnight had a baffled and stunned expression the moment he completely rose from his shadow.
For a moment, he thought he was seeing wrong, and he had to double check and make sure he was in the right place.
He was in a restaurant, but the restaurant was a complete and utter mess.
A section of the restaurant had shattered tables and chairs along with foods and drinks that poured on the floor.
The restaurant was about to get noisy at first, but when the aura of a Demon Lord filled the entire building, it instantly became quiet like when Simon suddenly appeared and attacked Jorra and Merath.
Black Midnight looked at one of the demons seated close to him, then he asked what happened.
The demon wasted no time telling Black Midnight everything that happened.
How a group of demons suddenly appeared in the restaurant, and before anybody could even react, one of the demons attacked two young demons.
The demon had no idea who the attacked demons were, but he knew Simon’s face... or his mask to be more specific.
Black Midnight asked a few more questions, then his eyes flickered with intrigue.
’Instead of trying to run away, he decided to attack two of his classmates? Why?’
Black Midnight’s body slowly sank into a shadow, his eyes portraying the calmness and amusement he felt toward the entire situation.
’I don’t know if I should be pissed that the boy has the audacity to take me with such levity or I should be impressed that he’s so calm and composed.’
Black Midnight shook his head slightly, then his body completely sank into his shadow and he disappeared from the restaurant.
Meanwhile, in an unknown location, Simon stood in front of the bound Jorra and Merath.
The three of them were in a house, and this house was completely different from other houses because there was no single darkness or shadow inside the house.
There were amber crystals placed in strategic corners of the house, and no single object could also be seen.
Dark curtains were placed on the windows, preventing the light from spreading outside the house.
This house originally belonged to a slave, but after Simon bought it from her, it became one of his ’hideouts’ in the Shadowgrave Clan.
Simon spread his Shadow Sense far and wide, and after making sure that there was no sign of Black Midnight or any powerful demon in his surroundings, he relaxed a little.
Demons were outside his house, but many of them were poor and wretched clan members or slaves.
Simon was not bothered about them.
He walked up to the two Daemons, then he brought out a vial that contained an extremely nasty smell.
The moment he placed the vial close to their noses, they both woke up and cursed loudly.
"WHAT THE FUCK?!"
"SHIT!!!"
Even Merath who was usually calm could not stop herself from cursing.
Unfortunately for them, Simon had engraved sound proof arrays on the walls of the building, so their shouts would never go pass the walls.
Jorra and Merath looked at one another with confused expressions.
Simon did not give them the time to comprehend everything that had happened in the past one minute.
He grabbed Merath by the Chaos Wraps that bound her, then he held her neck and looked at Jorra.
Merath tried to fight back but Simon tightened his grip on her neck.
"Stop moving. Unless you want to die."
The length of his claws increased, and they touched the skin of her neck.
A little bit of force from Simon, and his claws would pierce straight through her neck.
Merath gritted her teeth in anger, but she stopped moving.
Simon looked back at Jorra who emitted so much killing intent that if not for the formations Simon drew on the walls beforehand, the demons outside and beyond would have sensed his killing intent.
Simon’s expression however was one of extreme calmness.
"Where is the Herald’s corpse located?"
Merath and Jorra’s pupils constricted violently at his words, but they quickly regained their calm.
"That’s why you attacked us? To get the location of-"
Slide
Jorra’s words were suddenly cut short when he saw Simon’s claws pierce into Merath’s skin and her blood slowly slid down her neck to her breasts and body.
"The only thing I want to hear from you is the location of the Herald’s corpse. The more time you waste, the lower her chances of living."
Jorra looked at Simon, and though Simon could not see his face because of the mask he was wearing, he was absolutely certain that it was dark and ugly.
"I’ll kill you in the most gruesome way that no demon, god, or human has ever seen before."
Simon scoffed.
"Just try and use one of your cursed spirit and see who dies first, your partner or me."
There was silence for a moment, but every second was precious to Simon.
He clicked his tongue in annoyance, then his other hand moved.
Whoosh!
"Argghhh!"
A thin wind blade cleanly separated Merath’s left ear from her face, causing her to scream in pain.
"You bastard!" Jorra roared in fury.
Simon’s gaze became cold.
"Next is her right ear if the next words that comes out of your mouth is something other than the location of the Herald’s corpse."
Jorra’s eyes became bloodshot behind his mask.
"Who do you think you are, you fucking demonic hybrid peasant! How dare you-"
Whoosh!
"Arrrgghhh!!!"
Merath’s right ear was cut by another wind blade, and her screams of pain reverberated across the walls of the building.
"I’LL FUCKING KILL YOU!"
Simon indifferently and coldly looked at the furious cursed spirit user.
"Next is her arm if you don’t give me the location of the Herald’s corpse."
Jorra’s breathing became extremely loud, rough, and uneven.
The fury and shame that was in his heart burned like an inferno.
"We don’t know where the Herald’s corpse is." Jorra said through gritted teeth and a frigid tone.
Simon looked at him with the same indifferent gaze he had from the beginning, then he waved his hand.
A second later...
Thud
"Arrrrgggghhhhhhh!!!!"
Merath’s right arm fell from her hand.
