Chapter 430: Just Like How You Lied To Me
Ormon could not help but chuckle softly when he heard Simon thanking him, then he threw the First Year robe at Simon.
Simon caught the robe, then Ormon spoke.
“It’s a minor matter, and it wasn’t that expensive anyway. Besides, I plan on investing in you, and starting with improving your mask is not a bad way to start.”
“Unfortunately, the clan does not allow the mask of a First Year to have any offensive, defensive, or unique abilities. Besides, hiring a rune master to engrave offensive, defensive, or unique runes on a mask costs quite a lot.”
Simon already knew this, but he nodded regardless.
“Alright. Wear your mask and let’s meet with a friend of mine who is an appraiser. We need to-”
Before Ormon could finish his words, Simon instantly cut him off.
“Absolutely not.”
Ormon looked at Simon with visible surprise in his eyes.
“Absolutely not? You don’t want to know more about those black things around your arms?”
Simon shook his head.
“Whether I do or I don’t, it’s up to me, not you. If I need an appraiser, I’ll get one myself, and I’ll get an appraiser I can trust.”
Ormon narrowed his eyes in suspicion and was about to speak, but Simon cut him off.
“Me telling you about the black wraps is me risking my life to trust you. I am not going to risk my life by meeting an appraiser who might sell out the information of my artifacts.”
“The more demons that know about the black wraps, the more dangerous it would be for me.”
“So, no. I am not going to meet an appraiser.”
This time around, Simon did not decide to perform any sort of trickery, manipulation, or lies.
All he did was to straight up refuse Ormon’s request to go to an appraiser.
This was one of the things he expected to occur in one of his potential simulations, and the best approach to deal with this was to just refuse.
Of course it would cause Ormon to be suspicious of him, and if Ormon decides to force him, he had the Hollow Sky Eye to use.
And he would not mind using nearly all his mental energy to attack Ormon’s mind.
Ormon would be honored to feel a fraction of the power of the mind of a reincarnated Demi-God.
Sure, he might suffer extremely grievous injuries and would most likely be on the verge of death if he did what was in his mind, it was better than having so many powerhouses coming after him once an appraiser notices the uniqueness of the Chaos Wraps.
Especially the Chaos Flames.
His mind and body was prepped for a potential confrontation with Ormon, and Ormon could see this.
Simon was not bothering to hide or control his cold and threatening facial expression and body language because he needed to show that he was serious about not meeting an appraiser.
Ormon tilted his head and looked at Simon with visible amusement in his eyes.
“How cute, even in front of me, you dare to bare your fangs.” Ormon said with a darkly amused tone.
Simon’s gaze sharpened slightly after perceiving Ormon’s tone, and the air between both of them became tense.
A few moments later, Ormon scoffed, then he shook his head.
“Your arrogance and fearless nature seems to be higher than the sky of the demon realm. It might eventually be your downfall.”
Simon did not respond but his gaze became more calm and his aura became less threatening.
“You were right when you said that my appraiser might sell out the information of your artifacts, so I’ll let it go for now.”
Simon’s expression slowly eased up, and the atmosphere turned back to normal.
Ormon shook his head, then he released an amused chuckle.
“You might not have told me the whole truth or the truth at all, but now I feel just a little bit of sympathy for you.”
Ormon pointed at the Chaos Wraps.
“Those wraps are actually meant for brawlers and demons who use their fists. The wraps are like cursed artifacts to somebody like you with a talent for the sword.”
“I can only imagine the pain you feel not being able to hold a sword.”
If Simon was an emotional or dramatic demon, he would have nodded while wiping away a tear from his eyes.
It was truly painful not being able to use a sword.
“Alright. Now that we’re done here, wear your mask and robe, then follow me.”
Simon raised a brow but he did as he was told.
He wore his mask, got down the bed and began to wear his robe as he followed Ormon who left the room.
He caught up to Ormon, then he asked.
“Where are we going?”
“To the training ground of course. Have you forgotten that I was to train you two days ago?” Ormon replied without looking at Simon.
“And just so you know, I did not save you because you came to me before your death match and asked me to protect you from that old man.”
“And it’s also not because you obviously lied to me and said you preferred breasts over ass.”
Simon furrowed his brows and gave Ormon a baffled look.
Just like Ormon said, he looked for Ormon and took a gamble by asking the Raksha to protect him from Blackblade’s master.
There was nothing he could offer Ormon, so he just told Ormon about his situation and that he needed Ormon to protect him.
He decided to tell Ormon that he loved breasts more than ass now, that he had seen the light, and to his surprise back then, Ormon said he would save him if he won the match.
He had won the match, and Ormon came to save him.
So what was this perverted demon talking about now?
“Then why did you save me?”
Ormon looked at Simon and grinned.
“Because you’re a monster of a talent and I see a lot of potential in you. Your determination, madness, fearless nature, and talent itself are all things I enjoyed watching.”
“If I was not satisfied with how you fought the battle, I would definitely not have saved you even if you won the fight because saving you comes with a little bit of danger, and you would not be worth it.”
Simon blinked, and he looked Ormon incredulously.
“So… basically, you lied to me?”
Ormon’s grin widened.
“Yeah. Just like how you lied to me.”
Simon’s lips could not help but twitch, but he said nothing and just followed Ormon.
