Chapter 307: Step Back
Chapter 307: 307: Step Back
The appearance a demonic scorpion shocked nearly everybody that was on the causeway.
It was so sudden, so unexpected, and was also heart trembling.
The demonic scorpion was different from a normal scorpion.
Its body was as black as night. It had six eyes, two massive pincers, four legs unlike the normal six, and three tails.
This was a Three-Tailed Demonic Scorpion or a Three-Tailed Scorpion in short, and it emitted the aura of a Dread Beast.
’A dread beast? A Superior Dread Beast? And a Three-Tailed Scorpion for that matter?’
Belafar had a stunned expression when he saw the three-tailed scorpion, then he looked at Jorra whose face he could not see, but the coldness of his aura he could feel.
“You’re a beast tamer?”
Jorra scoffed. “I don’t waste words on garbage. Get out of my way or suffer the consequences.”
Belafar’s expression turned ugly, but unlike his usual self, he did not become furious.
Against Jorra, he had to be careful.
Very careful.
’Fighting a Beast Master is very dangerous. He’s a Supreme Fiend, but he’s able to tame a Superior Dread Beast that’s comparable to an Archfiend?’
’This means he’s talented, and it also means that the chances of him having even more beasts is very likely.’
He narrowed his eyes with a thoughtful glint.
’But why is he only bringing out this beast? Could it be that this is his strongest beast?’
’Beast tamers are not common, and from what I know, taming beasts places a lot of stress on the mind.’
’As a Fiend, it must be difficult taming a Superior Dread Beast.’
Belafar’s lips curled up into a light smile behind his mask, and he suddenly became more confident.
’If he only has a single Dread Beast, then I can kill it, kill any other beast he has, then kill him.’
’Your bluff won’t work on me.’
Belafar stood to his full height after spending about four seconds having all these thoughts.
“This must be your strongest beast. Why don’t you send it back to whatever beast storage space you have before I kill it.” Belafar said with a light smile.
Jorra tilted his head slightly.
“A single beast is more than enough to clean up trash like you.”
Belafar’s lips twitched, then he crossed his daggers with a dangerous glint in his eyes.
“Now that I think about it, the heart of a scorpion is going to be very helpful and delicious to me. I can use you as desert.”
A dark green glow coated his daggers, then he took a step forward, but a hand suddenly held his arm.
“Who-?!”
He was about to slash his dagger at the owner of the hand, but when he saw that it was Tibat, he frowned.
“What is it?” He growled with immense displeasure.
“You’re running to your death.” Tibat said nonchalantly, causing Belafar to frown in confusion.
“What?”
Tibat merely pointed at one of the scorpion’s legs.
Belafar could not see it at first, then his eyes widened in shock and disbelief when he saw a pair of small glowing black eyes curled around one of the front legs of the scorpion.
From time to time, a crimson tongue would flicker into the world, but it made no sound.
However, one would know that this was a serpent, and Belafar knew exactly what this serpent was.
“A demonic black boa?” He exclaimed in disbelief and fear.
The demonic black boa was a serpent that had three unique abilities.
The ability to hide their aura once they’re in a dark environment.
A very deadly poison that could kill demons, beasts, and humans that were two ranks higher than them.
And the ability to increase their weight, curl their bodies around an unfortunate creature, then crush it into oblivion.
This demonic black boa was a Superior Dread Beast like the three-tailed scorpion, but Belafar was more terrified of the serpent than the scorpion.
If Tibat had not stopped him, he would have charged forward and attacked the three-tailed scorpion, not knowing that there was a demonic black boa waiting for strike him down.
“Shit.” Belafar mumbled a curse, then he looked at Tibat.
“Thanks.”
Tibat shook her head. “I didn’t come here to hear thanks. I came here to tell you to fall back.”
Belafar was confused.
“Fall back? To where? Why?”
Tibat’s gaze remained on Jorra and the two dread beasts.
“You’ll take Agramormos’ place. Fight those three. When you’re done, you can come and join us.”
Belafar’s expression instantly darkened.
“Us? You and Agramormos?”
Tibat nonchalantly nodded, and Belafar growled.
“Do you think I’ll be bested by a mere First Year? By a mere Fiend?”
This time around, Tibat turned and looked at him, her black eyes staring coldly at Belafar through her mask of thorns.
“It was stated in the book Agramormos and I bought that he was a beast tamer. It also mentioned several things, and in case you’ve forgotten, there’s still that girl beside him.”
“Or do you think she’s weak and that she can be ignored?”
Merath and Jorra frowned at the mention of a book, and they could not help but wonder what in the world they were talking about.
How could a book expose the fact that Jorra was a beast tamer when it was not actually true.
He was not a beast tamer but a cursed spirit user.
Merath and Jorra looked at each other with a slight frown behind their masks.
Meanwhile, Tibat and Belafar continued their argument.
“We know how to defeat them because of the book. Now, defeat those three, then come back here and join us.”
“You!” Belafar gritted his teeth in anger, but Tibat did not care.
She looked at Agramormos who had stopped fighting Tempest Strider, Flaming Star, and Storm Reaper a long time ago so that he could conserve his energy.
“Agramormos. Come.”
Agramormos nodded, then he jumped.
Whoosh!
Bang!
He landed with a big bang, causing the causeway to tremble for a moment.
Belafar frowned as he covered his eyes with the back of his hand, then Agramormos’ words drifted into his ears.
“Step back Belafar. These two are not so easy to defeat. There’s a reason they’re ranked two and three in their class.”
