Chapter 249: Disturbance
Chapter 249: 249: Disturbance
There were only two classes left for the day, and the two were Anatomy, and Endurance and Pain Conditioning class.
The Anatomy class reminded Simon of how he used to receive lectures before the arrival of rifts, demons, and the apocalypse.
The instructor was called Instructor Orian.
Unlike Instructor Sormon, Instructor Orian only cared about teaching and did not care about things like one’s status and so on.
Because it was the first class, everything he taught was basic and not complex to understand.
Many members of the class either slept off or dozed off in class since it was rather… boring to them.
But for Simon, he was interested in this class.
He had killed countless demons in his past life, but did he understand the anatomy of half of the demons he had killed?
The answer was no.
What good was there in learning how the body of a demon worked?
As long as he was strong enough.
As long as his sword was sharp enough.
Then what use was there in learning the anatomy of every demon he killed or battled?
This was not only Simon’s belief, but the belief of nearly every demon and human.
Only a select few believed that there was any use in learning the anatomy of a creature.
And Simon decided to be part of this select few.
He didn’t ask questions, and he merely listened.
Even though Instructor Orian only taught them the basic things of some Minor Lesser Beasts, Simon was very interested in this course.
He got to learn how certain non-vital parts of the body can actually affect the body in strange ways.
Especially when multiple of these non-vital parts are hit with considerable force.
The class was just for two hours, and Instructor Orian did not stop anybody from sleeping or even walking out of his class.
The only thing he hated was students talking in his class, and those who spoke, were punished.
They were not allowed into the next four anatomy classes.
After lecturing for two hours on the dot, the class was over, and the next class was the Endurance and Pain Conditioning class.
The main reason why Simon entered this class was because he was curious about these breathing techniques their head instructor told them about.
If the breathing techniques were worthless in his eyes, then he’d no longer attend the classes.
Unfortunately, what happened in the class was something rather… simple.
All they did in the class was jog and run for as long as they could and wanted to.
Whenever they wanted to stop, they’d stop.
And whenever they wanted to leave, they could leave.
The instructor of the Endurance and Pain Conditioning class is a female demon called Instructor Yalen.
All Instructor Yalen did as they ran was to take notes.
She taught nothing, and it was one of the few classes amongst the Physical Pillar class where they were allowed to chat… As long as they did not make the class too noisy.
Some students decided to stop jogging and running even before they reached their limits.
They were bored and decided to have some fun.
Meanwhile, some saw this as training and as a test. They pushed themselves to their limits before stopping and gasping for air.
As for Simon?
He had to fake his exhaustion as he ran.
It was an extremely difficult task for him to do, but what he just did was to slow down considerably while breathing from his mouth and nose.
Compared to the others, his physical capabilities was far too high, and he could run far longer than 99% of his classmates.
Eventually, he stopped when he believed that he had put in enough effort into his act.
He had no idea why Instructor Yalen told them to just jog, but when he thought about the name of the course which is Endurance and Pain Conditioning, it was not a surprise that they were told to run.
Many were curious to know why they were told to run as much as possible, but they received no answers from their instructor.
Sunless was the last person to stop running, and after she stopped, Instructor Yalen told them that the class was over and walked out with her notes.
Everybody was stunned and baffled, but none complained or made a fuss about it.
In fact, they were happy to have more time to themselves.
Their classes for the day were over, but Simon noticed something strange before leaving his classmates.
He saw that all his classmates who awakened shadow affinity were going in a particular direction, and Simon raised a brow.
He was baffled at first, but he then realized what was happening.
’It must be the special class for the First Years with shadow affinity, and I’m the only person with shadow affinity that’s still in the class.’
Simon’s expression and gaze behind his mask was calm and completely indifferent despite realizing this.
As somebody with a C grade shadow affinity, the clan should have called him for the special shadow training, but they didn’t because he was a slave.
Some might have been angry or sad about this, but for Simon, it was of no inconvenience at all.
If the clan refused to teach him on how to manipulate and control shadows, he’d just have to learn it himself.
He ignored the jeers, laughter, mockery, and insults of his classmates when they also realized what Simon realized.
The actions of the academy to further suppress Simon caused many of them to feel safer, but this was just an illusion.
Simon went to his room to sleep.
It was nearly night time, and Simon wanted to sleep.
A lot had happened in just twenty four hours, and Simon knew that he needed sleep.
Without hesitation, Simon slept.
However, approximately four hours later, screams, curses, and sounds of battle could be heard in the dormitor.
Bang!
Bang!
Bang!
Bang!
The sound of numerous individuals hitting the doors resounded all over the dormitory, and Simon opened his eyes with a cold gaze.
