Chapter 239: Hemach & A Dangerous Gamble

Chapter 239: 239: Hemach & A Dangerous Gamble

A Lie Eater.

A Cursed Spirit.

And Daemons.

Simon did not expect to learn three shocking discoveries in just this meeting with Jorra and Merath.

He had so many questions concerning these three revelations, but the biggest question and most concerning question he had was…

’Why do they want to know if I was the one that killed Thorgan?’

This greatly baffled Simon, and the only reason he could come up with was that Thorgan, Merath, and Jorra were Daemons.

’Could they be the brothers and sisters Thorgan was always talking about?’

Simon immediately denied this possibility because there had never been a single interaction between Thorgan and the duo.

’Unless all three of them are the best actors in the world… But I highly doubt it. They should not be the brothers and sisters Thorgan was talking about.’

’There’s no anger or sadness in their eyes. Only indifference and coldness. If they were close to Thorgan, they wouldn’t be so cold and indifferent.’

Simon could not help but release a frustrated internal sigh because of how things were turning out.

When he killed Thorgan, he believed that the only two mountains he’d have to overcome was the clan and the unknown brothers and sisters of Thorgan.

Simon had not forgotten this strange family of Thorgan, but since he knew nothing about them and could actually do nothing about them, he decided not to think too much about them.

The only thing he could do when it came to this mysterious family was to get stronger.

But now, there was another mountain he had to climb.

Two unknown Daemons.

This was completely out of his expectations and calculations.

Things were spiralling out of control, and he was not a fan of such a situation at all.

’And Jorra literally has a lie detector. I was worried about the clan getting the help of a Soul Mirror Demon, but there’s a much bigger threat right here.’

’If by any chance, Jorra decides to work with the clan, then I would definitely be exposed… For Lilith to tell me not to speak, then it means the Lie Eater would instantly expose my lie.’

’And my instincts are telling me that things are not so simple. I have a feeling that if it’s exposed that I killed Thorgan, I might have two Daemons against me for some reason.’

’And their heart ranks might even be faked.’

Simon had so many other questions and thoughts in his mind, but he decided not to bring them up.

Nearly a minute had passed, and Merath and Jorra could no longer take it.

Everything was strange, and they were worried that something had happened to Simon.

“Are you okay?” Merath said with a slightly concerned tone.

Simon nodded, but he remained silent and did not say anything.

His mind was thinking of what to do. This was something he hadn’t planned for, and he lacked information.

’A gamble?’

Simon’s eyes flashed with a pondering glint, then he glanced at Lilith, baffling Jorra and Merath the more.

What was he looking at?

“Can you tell me what their true heart ranks are? I’m very certain that what I’m seeing is fake.”

Lilith gave him a light smile, then she shifted her gaze to Jorra and Merath.

“Well, you’re right… Both of them are Supreme Archfiends.”

Simon’s eyes flashed with a calculating glint. ’I knew it. Merath is not a Lesser Demon and Jorra is not a Fiend. Both of them are Archfiends.’

’That’s not so bad.’

To his slight surprise, Lilith spoke, and her words made it seem like she could read his mind, but she could not.

She could just guess what he was thinking.

“Let me warn you now. Do not underestimate either of them even though they’re just Archfiends.”

“You cannot defeat them. They’re on a whole different level compared to that Martial Demon you fought.”

“Maybe if you used the Chaos Blade, the Chaos Wraps, and the Chaos Flame, you might be able to survive or win. But if you don’t… you’ll lose even against just one of them.”

Simon raised a brow in surprise.

Lilith surely knew a fraction of his battle prowess by now, and she also believed that he was actually an old demon.

So, for her to say such words made him realize just how dangerous the duo were.

“Fighting a Cursed Spirit user is extremely dangerous because you don’t know what sort of cursed spirit might appear, and judging from this boy’s talent… He should have quite a lot of cursed spirits.”

“As for the girl… She’s a Hemarch. She’s even more difficult to fight than the boy. She can kill you before you even blink.”

Simon was baffled. “What’s a Hemarch?”

“The lesser versions of Hemarchs are called vampires. Hemarchs are daemons while vampires are demons.”

Simon’s eyes widened slightly in realization, and Lilith gave him one final advice.

“Just be careful around these two, and be careful when they ask you questions.”

Simon nodded slightly. “Thanks. But are you sure Jorra can’t see you? He deals with spirits and you’re a spirit after all.”

Lilith scoffed. “That brat can obviously not see me. He’s far too weak.”

Simon was about to respond, but Merath could finally not take it.

Simon has been quiet for over a minute, and she was starting to get irritated.

“What the hell is wrong with you? You were about to answer my question, but you suddenly went mute and started acting strangely.”

Simon looked at Merath, then he looked at Jorra, before subtly glancing at the Lie Eater.

“Why are you asking me about Thorgan?” He looked at Merath and asked.

Merath paused for a moment, then she regained her calm.

“Because I’m curious. Everybody in the class calls you a murderer, but I just want to know the truth.”

Simon indifferenly raised a brow.

“Seriously? Are you sure it’s not because he’s a Daemon and you guys have something to do with him?”

Jorra and Merath froze, and Lilith chuckled.

“A mad man as usual.” She said with a soft laugh, knowing that Simon decided to take a dangerous gamble.
