Chapter 234: Forbidden Knowledge
Chapter 234: 234: Forbidden Knowledge
’A fallen angel? But I thought angels were myths and legends of earth? I asked one of the gods back then if there were angels, and he denied it, saying that they were just myths and legends… Just what is the hidden story behind the gods, daemons, and demons.’
’And what of the Heralds? The Heralds are even more mysterious. What are they? I tried to get information on them, but I found nothing on the Heralds.’
Simon had so many questions to ask Lilith, especially questions he had from his past life, but he could not ask these questions since it would expose the fact that he knew far more than he should know.
Instead, he chose to be straightforward and ask questions a child his age should ask.
[What’s a fallen angel and a true dragon?] He asked curiously.
[I cannot tell you about a fallen angel. The knowledge of Fallen Angels could end your life right here and now. You should also not say the words- Fallen Angel- out loud no matter what.]
[You’d attract their attention.]
Simon was even more baffled. [Their?]
Lilith released a soft sigh.
[Don’t worry about it. These are things you’re not meant to know at your current realm.]
Simon frowned slightly.
[Then when will I be able to know about them. From what I know, your father spoke about certain beings which I’m guessing are the same beings you’re talking about. I need to know more about them if it’s inevitable that I’ll battle them.]
For some reason, Simon felt that Lilith rolled her eyes at his words.
[Fine. I guess you’re right. If you want to know more about them without dying, then become a Demon King.]
Simon’s eyes widened slightly. He didn’t expect the requirement to be so high.
[A Demon King? I thought you were going to tell me to become a Greater Demon at least.]
Lilith instantly scoffed.
[Do you even know the weight of the knowledge of what you desire? You’ll need to enter the ranks of the Demi-Gods to be barely able to withstand that knowledge.]
[When you become a Demi-God, your soul would not shatter under the immense weight of this knowledge and you’ll be able to prevent a karmic connection from forming between you and those beings.]
[If you don’t die from the weight of the knowledge as a mortal, then you would not be able to prevent the karmic connection from forming between you and those beings.]
[And the moment it’s formed, they’ll kill you if you’re not already dead.]
[All these knowledge you desire are forbidden and forgotten knowledge. Nobody is meant to remember them.]
[Do you understand now?]
Simon understood now. Even if his soul was a lot stronger than it was meant to be for his current rank and age, he would not able to handle the weight and the karmic connection of this knowledge.
’My soul is just a fraction of my past life. And the power to severe one’s karmic connection is something I can only do as a Demi-God.’
It seemed like the only thing Simon could do now was given up, but he wanted to ask just one more question to clear the doubts and some questions in his mind.
[These beings you’re refering to, are they the gods who are assisting Earth?]
Lilith instantly scoffed in extreme disgust at his question.
[Them? Those pathetic weaklings who would dare not look in my direction when I was at my peak?]
[I could kill all of them without breaking a sweat in my past life.]
This time around, Simon’s eyes widened slightly and he could feel his heart beating in excitement. Even his eyes flashed with excitement.
He had guessed that the beings the Sword Daemon and Lilith were referring were beings beyond the gods he was familiar with on Earth.
And now, he just received his confirmation.
’I guess the path to the peak is still far beyond what I know. I was just a frog at the bottom of the well.’
Simon exhaled softly as he looked at his surroundings.
He was sitting on a random bench that was also in front of a random building.
There were benches like this all over for anybody to sit at any point in time, and Simon decided to just sit outside and enjoy the fresh air while talking to Lilith.
A few passing Initiates gave him strange and varying looks, but Simon ignored them all.
[What about True Dragons, Lilith? Can you tell me about them?]
Simon was also very much interested in True Dragons because he desired to obtain a skill from a dragon, especially the ability to have dragon scales.
’I wanted to obtain a dragon blood so that I can get the dragon scales ability, but now I have the spirit of a powerful dragon hybrid with me.’
’I don’t even know which is better.’
Simon’s eyes suddenly widenedslightly.
’Wait… Can I devour Lilith? That would be truly something else if I could… But I doubt.’
After having this thought, Lilith finally spoke.
[True Dragons are basically Daemon Dragons.]
Simon raised a brow.
[Can you explain.]
Lilith released a soft sigh.
[There are demon dragons who are inferior to True Dragons. But instead of saying Daemon Dragon or Dragon Daemon, dragons like my mother decided to call themselves True Dragons.]
Simon was slightly intrigued but still had a slightly baffled expression.
[I have some questions about that, but I’m just going to leave it for now.]
Lilith gave no response and Simon released a soft sigh.
[So, let me get this straight. You’re a hybrid like me, but obviously, you’re like royalty and all.]
[Certainly.]
Simon’s lips twitched at the prideful tone of Lilith.
[You’re a fallen angel and a true dragon… Now I’m curious about your appearance since you’re a hybrid of two rare demon species.]
Lilith instantly corrected him.
[Daemon species, not demon species. Never refer to me as a demon.]
Simon softly shook his head with a wry smile.
[Got it.]
Lilith clicked her tongue, and just as Simon was about to speak, she spoke.
[And you know that you can actually see how I look like, right? You’ve just never asked me to show you my appearance before.]
[What?]
Simon was stunned, and in the next moment, he froze with a slightly opened mouth.
Lilith appeared before him.
