The Black Necromancer

Chapter 438 Steps To Godhood!

Vast Divine Power built up within Leon’s mind, body and soul. His Core glowed brightly from beneath his ribcage, sending bright rays of dark light through the dense black-red fog that had formed around the floating island while he was dealing with Atrox in his mental space.

Michael watched all this from afar. He was no where close to the floating island, but within his God Kingdom, it was not hard for him to see things happening.

This was the first time Michael had witnessed someone use a fallen God’s Divine Spark to ascend. It was a novel sight to him and something that would leave a lasting memory in his mind. Right now, all he needed to do was wait and make sure that nothing went wrong.

Already, he knew that it was Leon who had won the mental battle and come out on top. He just wanted to make sure that the absorption process was smooth and without problems. If a problem arose, then he would immediately swoop in to stop the process. Nothing could go wrong with Leon.

Boom!

The island shook violently as a terrifying wave of power washed over it. This wave of Divine Power was very much different from what hung around the island already. It was like a breath of fresh air after living in a dusty environment for a long time.

Within the black-red mist, Leon’s body rose from the ground and hung in the air as his core quite literally collapsed on itself, crumpling and shrinking until it reached the size of a human eye. It glowed with an eerie dark light, emanating an aura that seemed as if all life around it was going to be extinguished. Even the lush greenery on the floating island had already begun to show signs of dying. It was only because of the strong life force contained within them, and Michael’s active intervention that they did not immediately die off at once.

An unknown amount of time passed before all the wild waves of Divine Power finally died down. All the remnant energy was absorbed greedily by Leon’s newly forged Divine Spark to provide nourishment for its initial stages of growth. All the red-black mist around the island formed a vortex and rapidly rushed into the Divine Spark, providing it with heaps of energy.

A rapidly growing energy signature rose from the island. In an instant, Leon’s level leaped from a weak, barely established Minor God level, to one that was firm and strong. There were signs of instability, but that was only normal with someone that had just broken through.

Eventually, all the mist vanished and Leon’s figure was revealed, hovering a meter above the ground. A blinding light radiated from his figure, but at the same time, that light seemed to be tainted with a darkness that caused hearts to tremble and shake.

A soft breeze blew over the grass that had regained its vitality as Leon slowly lowered back down to the ground. He was currently in his human form, and the moment his feet touched the ground, a heavy, unrestrained pressure burst out of his body. His eyes opened and he took in a deep breath.

“So… This is what it feels like to become a God…” He whispered to himself. His eyes seemed to peer through reality, and he could directly observe the laws that formed the basic foundation of reality.

“Congratulations on your breakthrough, Leon.” Michael appeared a short distance from Leon with a smile. He looked Leon up and down, feeling out the powerful aura that was unintentionally let out by Leon. At this time, Leon had yet to even fully digest any of Atrox’s Domains, so there was still a lot more room for improvement in the short term. Michael did not hesitate to share this piece of news with Leon.

However, digesting the Domains of Atrox came with a risk of their own. For example, if Leon digested the Domain of Tyranny that Atrox’s Divine Spark was centered upon, then it was to be expected that he would inevitably became tyrannical, even if by just a bit.

“I see.” Leon held his chin in thought when he heard this. When he thought about it, he felt it made sense that the Domains of a God would affect their personality and lifestyle. In regards to this, he could only think of one thing.

He would discard the Domain of Tyranny!

However, even this was not without its drawbacks. As Atrox was mainly defined by his Domain of Tyranny, as it was what he had built on, discarding this Domain would greatly limit the leap of power that Leon would gain if he absorbed it instead.

“Think about it some more. It won’t do any good to decide on it so quickly after advancing.” Michael smiled and shared his thoughts.

At this time, Nedra finally emerged from Leon’s body. The feeling that she gave off was completely different from before.

As she shared a portion of Leon’s soul, she had been fortunate enough to experience much of what Leon had gone through in his ascension to Godhood. This did not allow her to cross that crucial step, but it had basically paved a valid pathway for her own ascension!

Nedra opened her beautiful red eyes, radiating a regal and all knowing aura. Already, her current bearing was not much different from that of an actual God! Her comprehension had also been boosted to 100%, which made it so that barely anyone in the mortal realm would be her match!

Michael looked impressed. He had expected something similar, but he did not expect so much to have come from this. If all went well, along with the other plan that the Gods were cooking, then Datar would soon be welcoming yet another God! This was a very good outcome!

As Michael was internally patting himself on the back, he suddenly paused as he felt several strong presences appear at the border of his God Kingdom. Without his permission, they could not enter.
