Chapter 361 The Superiority Of Fire
Ignis looked at the rough and unrefined techniques that Fenrir used to bully the poor Demon and snorted. He turned his handsome face to the side to face the strongest Demon that was present on the battlefield. For some reason, battle hungry elites like Nero, Aristodemus, and Tyrant had let him have the strongest Demon.
“Well, I guess I will have to deal with you.” Ignis sighed tiredly, but deep down, he was also excited. He was eager to test out the limits of his new abilities. As someone who had always valued the the control of fire, he wanted to know how much better his control had gotten.
“YOU BASTARD!” The Demon roared as he turned into a beam of light and charged at Ignis. However, when he reached the ten meter mark, he suddenly slammed into an invisible barrier. Upon closer inspection, he realized that an invisible barrier had been created using fire by Ignis. In the next moment, his skin burst into flames as flames condensed out of nowhere and wrapped around his right arm.
“Argh!” The Demon grunted in pain.
Ignis spread his arms and twisted his wrists. The space within the ten meter barrier he had created around himself was actually filled with incredible heat. If someone below A rank was caught within it, then they would immediately be disintegrated. If someone of Low A rank entered, then they would suffer burns so sever that they would surely die if their regenerative abilities were poor, or if they did not receive treatment.π¬ππxt.πΈπ
With a flick of his wrists, that intense heat condensed and formed a tentacle of fire that resembled molten magma. The tentacle tightly latched onto the Demon’s arm and pulled him into the barrier, letting him bathe in flames for a few moments before tossing him down to the ground.
Whoosh!
Ignis pointed his finger and a flash of light passed through the air, even faster than the falling Demon, and stabbed into the ground. In a moment, an entire patch of the earth was turned into boiling magma, which welcome the falling Demon with open arms.
Boom!
The lake of magma exploded as the Demon tried to fly out, but tentacles of magma rose up and wrapped rightly around him, starting to burn his flesh and cook his insides.
“ARRGHHH! PLEASE! MERCY!!!” The Demon roared to the sky as it found itself completely unable to fight back against Ignis. Whatever move he tried to make was instantly countered. Unfortunately for him, he was only able to use Fire magic. His Fire magic skill was already advanced, and he had many skills to complement it, but he found himself completely unable to use any of those skills under Ignis’ fine control over the mana around him.
Even if the Demon was unable to rely on the mana in the atmosphere to cast spells, he should have been able to rely on the mana within his body. He tried to do so, actually. However, the moment the mana passed through him and became exposed to the outside world, Ignis instantly stole control over the mana from him and converted it into his own. This completely suppressed the Demon while destroying him.
As the Demon swore, struggled and begged, more tentacles of lava reached up and wrapped around him before pulling him down into the lake of lava to be cooked alive.
Normally, his strong body should have granted him immunity to the heat, but the heat of the magma created by Ignis was so insane that it was almost impossible!
Ignis snorted at the dying Demon and turned his head up to look at the only other person in the group of elites who used fire as his only element – Tyrant.
The fiery dinosaur monster King had been a massive, lumbering figure that mainly relied on brute force and his flame breath. However, upon his latest race advancement, he had acquired a smaller, and vastly more agile body. It was a thing of his dreams. A body that allowed him to dance through the battlefield while dealing devastating damage was something he had always wanted. And now, he had gotten it.
“Where are you running?!” Tyrant’s deep and heavy voice boomed with a hearty laugh as he played with the High A rank Demon he had been tasked to fight. He did not take the Demon seriously, as he naturally had a habit of playing with his food.
The Demon naturally had no words and could only try his best to survive. He had already seen multiple comrades fall at the hands of these brutal beings, and with the strength of Tyrant, he was feeling even more dismayed and hopeless.
It was at that moment that several new aura boomed over the horizon.
The Demon reinforcements had come!
Tyrant paused and looked in the direction of the ocean. He could see the blue sea in the distance. A frown spread over his features. With these new arrivals, he would need to finish off his prey quickly, and thereby cut his fun short.
“Stupid Demons. Send as many as you can, but as long as the Master is present, you will never win.” Tyrant growled under his breath as he decided to finish off the Demon. His gaze turned back to the fleeing figure. The Demon had chosen to flee in the direction that the reinforcements was coming from. The sight of the fleeing Demon made Tyrant chuckle. A light flashed through his eyes.
What excited a predator during a hunt? Its prey running away!
A skill within Tyrant bloomed and exploded. A surge of might blasted through Tyrant’s body as the skill, Predator’s Drive, was activated.
BOOM!
Space broke around Tyrant’s figure as he vanished, leaving an afterimage in his former position that remained there for a few more seconds. He appeared in front of the Demon and grabbed his chin.
“Running away so quickly? You have me excited.” Tyrant grinned, revealing pearly white canines. His jaw opened, revealing the depths of his mouth where a bright red light was building.
“No! No! NOOOOO!” The Demon began to struggle, smashing his fists and legs across Tyrant’s body, but nothing moved the excited predator.
With a low growl, a wave of red flames billowed from his mouth and washed over the body of the Demon. It only took five seconds for even the sturdy bones of the Demon to be turned to ashes, easily showcasing the superiority of fire!
