Chapter 332 New Arrivals To The Desolate Lands

Leon sat cross legged in the center of the powerful magic crystal formation that was beneath Fort White. He was about to under take the Race Advancement, and this was the safest place within his territory.
“I will inform you if there are any developments that arise during your advancement, my Lord.” Rakon said as he knelt on one knee and bowed his head.
“Yes, that will be good.” Leon nodded his head and was about to dismiss the white haired subordinate. But then he remembered something else. “Hold on, how is my father?” He had been very busy as of late and had neglected this bit of his life.
“Sir Eugene is doing well, my Lord. He is a born fighter, and our methods overlap in some areas, making it much easier for me to teach him.” Rakon responded with a small smile. Taking on the role of a teacher to someone like his master’s father gave him a great sense of fulfillment.
“I see. In what ways do your styles overlap?” Leon was curious. He had yet to see his father fight all this while.
“As my Lord already knows, I specialize in illusions and indirect mental tricks to attack and overwhelm my opponents. While I can fight in close quarters, I prefer to fight in the former pattern. Sir Eugene also specializes in indirect mental attacks and illusions, although he is much better at close combat than myself. The only thing is that his style is still rather rough and unrefined. If he can refine his skills and grow stronger, then perhaps he could defeat me one day.” Rakon smiled.
“I see. That is all. Keep up the good work, Rakon.” Leon nodded with a small smile and dismissed the white haired subordinate.
After Rakon left, Leon was alone and about to undergo the advancement. “I wonder if I can bolt right up to Peak A rank with this advancement.” He muttered to himself. His mana flowed out from his body and his elite summons around him one by one. They were also ready to undergo their race advancement, as well as Nedra.
“Here we go.” Leon sighed and looked at the notification that appeared in front of him when he thought of the race advancement.
[Catalyst located! Would you like to undergo the Race Advancement?]
“Yes.”
A bright light burst out of Leon’s body first, before his surrounding summons and Nedra were also swallowed by a similar light. The mana in the room began to churn as it was mobilized to act as a catalyst to their race advancements. In a room not too far away, the dark liquid from the Obsidian Pool also began to bubble, turning into a vapor that drifted through the air and made its way to the room where the massive mana crystal formation was located.
Whoosh!
[Race Advancement has begun!]
Leon felt his consciousness fade as he was carried into a deep, dark slumber.
At the same time, Rakon ordered all the protectors of Fort White to be alert and tripled the defenses of the city. By now, thanks to the endless efforts of Gizmo and his apprentices, as well as some pitching in from Kai, the Crown Prince of the Gublin Empire, the city wall was much stronger than it was in the past. It was many times higher, thicker, and much more reinforced. Also, it was no longer the sole wall. Another exterior wall had been built further away to defend the newly built homes and other establishments that had begun to spring up as Fort White continued its development.

Flap.
Flap.
Flap.
The continuous beat of powerful wings sounded in the sky, but the sound was too high in the sky for most people to hear it. The sound was not caused by birds or bats, but rather, powerful Dragons!
A group of forty dragons flew through the sky as they made their way toward the Desolate Lands. At the front of the group, a massive red dragon that was about forty meters long had his golden eyes facing forward.
The massive red dragon went by the name Drukali, and he was the leader of the Red Wing Dragon Clan.
The Dragons were natural powerful beings that stood at the top of Datar. Their powerful bloodline and racial benefits allowed them to stand head and shoulders above many other outstanding races like the Elves and others.
But even with their power, they were not able to completely dominate the entire world of Datar. Instead, they had claimed their own territory, several confined pieces of land in the northern corners of the world.
There were twelve Dragon Clans in total, and the Red Wing Dragon Clan was the strongest of them all. Right behind them was the Heavy Wing Clan and the Lava Wing Clan. They were focused on defense and offense respectively. Their overall power was also relatively equal, although their leaders did not like to admit it.
The Red Wing Dragon Clan on the other hand was a clan that favored a little bit of everything. However, one thing they stood out for was their highly explosive temper. No one provoked a dragon from the Red Wing Clan and left unscathed.
As the leader of the strongest Dragon Clan, Drukali was also recognized as the strongest dragon of the present generation. While there were older dragons that had retreated to the background and no longer interfered with the affairs of the present generation, they did not compete with the current generation and let Drukali have his time.
“Brother!” Another red dragon from the Red Wing Clan called as he flew up to Drukali’s side. His name was Nezario. He was not a pure Red Dragon, as his mother had come from the Lava Wing Clan. However, his Red Dragon bloodline was stronger, and he was gladly welcomed into the Red Wing Clan.
“What is it, Nezario?” Drukali’s domineering voice cut through the wind that rushed by like a hot knife through butter.
“We are close to the Desolate Lands. A few more hours at most. We should get in touch with the ones who are fighting there to make sure they do not misunderstand our presence.” Nezario suggested.
“Of course. Tell our strongest Jade Dragon to work on it.” Drukali nodded slightly.
The Jade Dragons were a branch of dragons that did not particularly excel in combat when compared to the rest of their kin. They were still very powerful when compared to other races, but when compared with other Dragon Clans, their combat power was one of the lowest.
However, this did not mean that they were useless. Where they lacked in combat power, they made up for in other aspects. One of those aspects was the more esoteric and mystic arts which their more violent cousins were unable to master. Mystic arts like Scrying and Divination.
A group of five Jade Dragons flew amongst the forty dragons that made up the force which headed to the Desolate Lands.
“Also, have the scry whether our target is there. We must know how it is there and why.” Drukali added.
“As you wish, brother.” Nezario nodded and fell back to relay Drukali’s words to the others.
Meanwhile, the powerful Red Wing Clan leader had a frown etched onto his draconic face. He was wondering exactly the second thing that he had told Nezario to relay to the Jade Dragons. Their target was a being of legend, a being that had been mentioned in a prophecy long passed down through their dragon culture and history.
It was said that upon the birth of that being, certain events would unfold, both within dragon territory and the lands of others. And true to the stories that had long been passed down, the sequence of events mentioned had passed.
“May the forefathers watch over us.” Drukali sighed and continued. They had been flying for days and he was ready to rest. First, he needed to hear what the Jade Dragons had to say.
It did not take long for word to come back as Nezario flew up to Drukali’s side once again.
“Brother, I have returned with news!” The red dragon with black and golden patterns on his scales said as he flew beside Drukali. The Clan head simply tilted his head, waiting for the news.
“Our target is indeed in the Desolate Lands. And we have also made contact with the side defending the Central Continent, as well as the Demons.” Nezario dutifully reported.
“The Demons responded as volatilely as expected. As for the defenders, they were a bit more cautious, but they had given us a green light. We have a location to land at.” Nezario finished his report.
“I see…” Drukali hummed with a deep frown, confused as to the action of the Demons. Surely, they knew that if the dragons helped out the defenders, then they would never be able to breach the defenses and carry out their conquest.
“We shall see when we get there.” He nodded.
