The Black Necromancer

Chapter 316 The Adventures Of Traitorous Demons (4)

Dreyfus quickly distanced himself from Mica as he held onto his limp arm. The arm was scorched by Mica’s golden flames, and had blood running down it. Two wind constructs behind him kept him in the air, but he was not as flexible in the air as Mica.

“Dammit.” The young man gritted his teeth and swallowed a special pill that had been given to him by his father. He risked a glance down to find his subordinates engaged in a heated tussle with the three boys that had betrayed their side. Already, two of them were killed.

Dreyfus noticed that the only girl among those that came with him was about to pull out a special move that was far above the level of D rank, and bordered into C rank territory. His eyes shone as he thought of the three boys dying. Even if he lost half of his men, killing the three boys would be enough to earn him accolades.

“Eyes here, fool!” Mica suddenly appeared in front of Dreyfus and breathed out a cone of golden flames. The man held up his hand and formed a wind barrier, before retaliating with a spear of blue flames. Of course, Mica swallowed the flames, but Dreyfus was aiming for that in the first place.

Boom!

A small explosion rang within Mica’s throat, knocking the young dragon off balance. He immediately followed up with a barrage of explosive fireballs and wind blades that broke and tore apart Mica’s scales.

The young dragon howled in agony as not only its insides, but also its outsides were in pain. He angrily built up a much more concentrated mass of golden fire at the back of his throat. This time, the flames were so concentrated that it turned into a literal ball of molten mass!

Dreyfus felt a sudden spike of danger run up his spine, but it was too late to run. He threw up a defensive treasure that he had managed to scrounge up after begging his father. The talisman was only able to block up to attacks of B rank, and it was a one time use item.

The talisman with the head of a lion glowed once as most of the mana in Dreyfus’ body was absorbed into it. He did not have time to use an alternate source of mana for it, so he had to use his own mana.

Whoosh!

A dark red circular prismoid barrier appeared around him just as a golden beam of light blasted out of Mica’s mouth. The beam of light was split by the edges of the prism barrier, causing it to blast around the battlefield down on the ground. One of the split beams instantly hit one of Demons fighting on the ground, and in the next moment, his body burst apart in a brilliant display of gore.

Crack!

A crack appeared on the surface of the talisman and Dreyfus’ face instantly broke into an expression of fear. His eyes were wide and fearful as he began to pray to the God that his family worshipped, hoping for it to come to his rescue.

But alas, even that God had other things to worry about than the worthless scion of one of his worshippers.

Crack!

The talisman shattered into dust, and the barrier around Dreyfus shattered under the pressure of the beam of golden light. The golden beam stabbed through Dreyfus’ chest and continued on to drill a deep hole into the ground.

Thud!

The badly injured body of Dreyfus dropped to the ground with a solid thump. Mica followed, but he was able to land much more gracefully than the fallen Demon.

“Y-you…” Dreyfus tried speaking, but Mica simply stepped on his head and crushed his skull, not willing to listen to whatever nonsense the man had planned to utter as his final words.

“Damn, that was harsh.” Lance whistled as the three boys stepped out of the cover of dust and smoke that had been risen by Mica’s final move. The twin Demons stepped out, both supporting Lance. Mica raised his head to say something snarky, but paused when he saw the state of Lance’s body.

“How? What happened?” Mica limped to meet the three boys midway. He spread out one of his wings as they collapsed, catching them before they could hit the ground.

They were all injured, but by all means, Lance’s case was much more severe than that of the twins. His right arm had been severed from the middle of his bicep, but the wound seemed to be cauterized. The severed arm was in Balak’s hand.

“In the middle of all the chaos when your attack hit, the Demons had gone all out and attacked us. One of them sliced off Lance’s arm, as he was too busy blocking your attack with his shield. The Demon died as soon as your attack hit him, but he was able to deal one final hit before going out.” Barak explained.

Mica had a terrible look on his face when he heard this. It was his fault that Lance was like this. Perhaps if he had held back, then Lance would still be okay. The young dragon felt an overwhelming wave of sadness flood through his heart. His heartbeat thumped in his ears as a sense of enlightenment came over him.

Mica stepped forward as he gathered the mana within his core into a singular point. His body gained a faint glow of golden light as the mana around and within was drawn to a singular point at the top of his head. There, a golden horn made entirely of mana formed, while Mica’s eyes turned into golden suns.

The twin brothers gasped in surprise as Mica’s entire body lit up with a golden glow and he stepped forward. His tail took Lance’s severed arm from Balak and held it up to the stump of Lance’s arm. He then touched the tip of the golden horn to the part where both ends of the severed arm touched, and the golden mana flowed into the injury like water through a stream. Like a river meeting the ocean, the injury was seamlessly healed under the shocked gazes of the two young Demons.𝗏𝗅xt.πœπ‘Άπ—†
