Chapter 231 [Bonus Chapter] Here To Free You
Over the course of Divinity’s Bout, Leon had gained many good things. Be it resources or money, he had them all. He had also gotten his hands on many good equipment. There were staves, wands, swords, shields, and even whole equipment sets!
After Leon came to the decision that he could not risk losing an integral part of the Abyss Set, he quickly set on deciding what equipment set he would use.
‘Perhaps I could use the Cowardly Knight’s Armor Set…’ Leon thought, recalling the armor set he had gained after defeating Aristodemus. He remembered that equipping it came with bonus Dexterity and Agility stat points. He quickly decided to use that one first.
Whoosh!
The pitch black Abyss Set vanished, and was replaced by the Cowardly Knight’s Set with a flash of brilliant light. Leon felt his body turn lighter and more flexible as soon as the armor set was wrapped around him. The greatsword that came with the armor set was firmly held in his right hand. With his high strength stat, he was easily able to use it with a single hand.
“Ha!” By this time, Ugar had managed to escape the grasp of Leon’s gravity magic. When he saw Leon rushing at him with a different armor set, a sneer made its way onto his face.
Lizardmen were extremely proud of their tails. Seeing how Leon had panicked from his sword cracking after sustaining a hit from his tail had filled him with great satisfaction.
“Do you think your shiny armor can stand against my might?!” Ugar growled, his tone dripping with disdain for Leon. But Leon remained focused as he let his mind explore the full capabilities of the armor set.
‘I see…’ Leon hummed as Ugar and himself were about to collide in the air. Suddenly, things seemed to slow down ever so slightly, but it was enough for Leon to gain an opening. His body leaned to the side as he dodged the swipe of Ugar’s flame wreathed claws, and another savage swipe of the lizardman’s powerful tail.
Slash!
A slicing sound could be heard as Leon waved his sword in an upward motion as he passed by Ugar. The next thing that followed was a pain filled screech that shook the surrounding air.πΈπ½π xt.ππͺ
Thump.
Ugar’s thick and mighty tail thumped to the ground, wriggling and shaking. The lizardman held onto the stump of his tail as he glared at Leon with pure, unabated hatred. His eyes leaked his desire to kill Leon.
“Not so proud of your tail now, huh?” Leon mocked the aggrieved lizardman with a laugh.
“I will-“
“Yeah, yeah, I know. You will have my bones, right? Well, you can come and get them.” Leon beckoned for Ugar to attack him.
Ugar opened his mouth again to declare his intention to break Leon’s bones apart, but bit his tongue at the last moment and just launched himself forward. His arms blurred as he clawed and punched at Leon, but with the bonuses from the armor set, he was able to dodge them all.
“Ha!” Leon cheered and swung his sword in order to retaliate. A thin line was drawn over Ugar’s chest, but he prevented any further damage by leaping backwards.
‘Dammit, this sword is too slow to follow him up close.’ Leon realized. The greatsword was excellent at dealing heavy blows, but its attack speed was quite low. But thankfully, Leon recalled something that Aristodemus had done during their fight. His grip on the great sword’s hilt changed, and he held it with both hands. His fingers dug into the handle of the sword, and surprisingly, the sword began to split into two!
Swish!
With a hissing sound, the silver sword broke into two halves. The outer parts were smooth and sharp, while the sides that had been connected had a savage and jagged look to them.
Leon grinned as he felt that he could move much faster with two swords instead of one. Although he had no experience with dual sword wielding, the information concerning this style of sword fighting quickly rushed into his mind, fueled by the Intermediate grade Weapon Mastery.
Whoosh!
Leon’s body blurred as he wrapped himself up in gravity mana. His body was lightened many times over, and with the help of wind magic supporting his movements, he was so fast that even Ugar had trouble following his movements! The tables had been turned!
“Argh!” Ugar growled in pain as he felt a sharp sting just above his heel. His right foot lost its strength and he was not able to support his weight properly. He did not fall to the ground, but lost his sense of balance. He swerved just in time to dodge one of Leon’s swords going for his throat, but his neck was still nicked by the sword, drawing warm blood.
Ugar stumbled backwards, but fell down as he put weight on his injured leg. He tumbled backwards, and a gravity field appeared over him, pressing him down onto the ground while the earth rose to form shackles around his limbs.
“No!” Ugar realized his predicament and tried to struggle. His mana immediately started digging into the bindings around him, wrestling for control against Leon, but he was not able to wrench away the control of the mana around him from Leon quick enough.
“Don’t struggle and this will be over quickly.” Leon said, appearing in the corner of Ugar’s vision.
“Useless Undead! Let me be! You do not know what your are doing!” Ugar hissed, straining against the bindings around him. He glared daggers at Leon, but Leon was not phased.
“As a matter of fact, I know exactly what I am doing. I am here to free you.” Leon smiled.
Upon hearing Leon’s words, Ugar’s struggles stopped at once and his body froze. He turned his head to look at Leon with wide, shocked eyes. He could not believe his ears. Leon had come here to free him???
