Chapter 122 Armored Centaur General
“Be careful, that one is strong!” Jet called to Leon as he dodged the attack of an armored centaur creature. He generated a space crack to snag its leg, but the space crack was only able to dent its armor, showing how strong the creature truly was. He was as fast as a flash as he blipped around the creature, continuing to pepper it with both magical and physical attacks.
Leon was doing the same thing as he fought another armored centaur. Orbs of fire rotated around him, and the earth beneath the feet of the armored centaur continually interrupted its charges, giving Leon the leeway he needed to fight it.
Mana thundered around him and the monsters as he pushed himself. He was focusing on using his magic skills to level them up, so at the moment he was using Gravity magic, fire magic, earth magic, and Dark magic. Although it was quite a spectacular sight, Leon was already feeling burnt out. Using so many different magic types was very mentally draining.
‘I need to increase my intelligence stat some more!’ He complained. It was well known that the higher one’s intelligence stat was, the easier it was to use magic. Although his intelligence increased the more he used magic, and also when he leveled up, Leon still felt as if it was too low for his actual rank.
Mind burning, Leon gritted his teeth and twisted his arm. Dark purple mana reached out and twisted around the arm of the centaur that wielded a large glaive. With his control, Leon forced the centaur’s arm to loose control and miss him. Then with his other fist that was wreathed in a combination of gravity and dark magic, he punched its chest, causing that section to cave in. When he jumped back, he examined the results of his attack, and was slightly pleased. The metal of the monster’s armor had begun to rust.
Leon resisted the urge to laugh out loud. He had gotten this idea back when he had fought against Jet. With Joseph’s explanation on how Dark magic was used to change the original state of an object, he had thought of using it to generate the rot effect of the Dark Abyss Spiders. So far, it seemed like this idea was promising.
Some distance away, all of Leon’s elite summons, and some C rank summons that were close to reaching B rank, were fighting against the army of weaker armored monsters.
Grokus and Nero were domineering powerhouses that led the charge against the B rank monsters. Kaladin remained a steady support with his shocking spells. The B rank millipedes were right behind them, and behind those were a few hundred C rank millipedes and spiders. Of course, Leon did not hold back the C rank adventurers that he had turned into his summons. They were quite strong, even more so than the millipedes, so it would be a waste to not use them. Jet had been surprised a bit when he saw them, but quickly snapped out of it. He guessed that Leon must have had some misunderstanding with them, and so he did away with them.
Up to a hundred Low B rank armored monsters filled the massive hall, while a couple dozen Mid B rank armored monsters led them. As for the High B rank monsters, Leon and Jet were taking care of the only two.
Bang bang bang!
A flurry of mana fueled punches landed on the chest of the armored centaur that he was fighting, sending it flying backwards into the wall. Gray dust and rocks burst out at the collision, and Leon’s shadow flashed by, meeting the monster in the ball.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Each punch was heavier than the last, and it continuously damaged its armor. The rot effect of his Dark magic caused the metal to rust and decay, and after a while of weakening, Leon’s fist easily crashed through the ruined armor, and sunk into the thick and hardy flesh of the creature hiding behind the armor.
The monster within the armor was just a mass of flesh, and had no bones within its body. It was as if the armor was its exoskeleton. The pink and brown flesh easily gave way under Leon’s strong fist, before it started to rot and decay.
Leon stood up tall, with his back slightly hunched. His posture only revealed a single eye socket that glowed with purple light, giving him a menacing look, which when combined with the terrifying aura that wafted off him made him look like a monster that could end everything.
[Level 73 Armored Centaur General killed. You have leveled up!]
Leon nodded and waved away the notification. He turned his attention to the downed creature, and activated his signature skill. Soon enough, an black armored Armored Centaur General was standing before him, with a large glaive in its grasp.
“Go.” He ordered it, waving to the battlefield. The powerful summon immediately charged ahead, weapon held up above its head. The faceless armor gave it a more domineering look, and in just a second, it had appeared right in front of one of the Mid B rank monsters. It did not stop running, but simply batted aside the creature with its glaive, and continued charging, doing the same to multiple others in its path, before it eventually stopped.
As it was no longer one of their kind, the other armored monsters instantly attacked it, but they were met with a solid wall, as no matter how they attacked, it was incredibly difficult to break the Armored Centaur General’s guard. Leon himself had only managed it thanks to magic. The Armored Creatures were purely physical and had no elemental powers. This was their only weakness.
When Jet finally managed to slice off the head of his opponent, he was surprised to see that Leon was already done, and had turned his opponent into a summon. A chill went down his spine when he realized that Leon’s strength did not depend on just his own personal growth, but also that of his summons. Right now, he did not think he stood a chance at beating Leon in a head on fight.
