Chapter 356: I Am Pregnant!

Sienna smiled as she watched her husband study the results with complete seriousness. She could see a faint frown appear on his forehead as his eyes moved from one line to another.

She felt amused as his expression grew even more focused, as though he were trying to solve a complicated business problem.

After waiting a while—yet seeing Zachary still intently studying the papers in his hands—Sienna finally could not hold back any longer. “Do you understand what it is?”

“Yeah,” he replied, looking up to meet her eyes. “…I’ve seen this kind of report before. These are lab results for a blood test, right?”

“Yes.” A faint smile formed on her lips. “So, you get the meaning, right?”

He shook his head. “… actually, I don’t quite understand the rest. Should I call Scott right now and ask him to read it for us?”

Sienna was rendered speechless. She had assumed Zachary would understand the meaning right away. Still, she had been wrong… her husband was a businessman, not a doctor. Of course, a medical report filled with unfamiliar terms would not suddenly make sense to him.

She could only laugh inwardly, realizing that the plan to surprise him had failed completely—even the simplest of plans.

“Zach,” she began, deciding that there was no point making him struggle with the report any longer. “I went to the hospital and had a blood test. And the paper you’re holding contains the results.”

“I know,” he murmured, still looking increasingly confused.

Sienna looked at him for another second before finally revealing the secret she could no longer keep to herself.

“Well, the result said that I’m pregnant.”

The silence settled in the room almost instantly.

Sienna held back a happy smile as she watched her husband’s bewildered expression.

‘Finally! I no longer need to hide this secret…’ She felt completely relieved.

For a few seconds, Zachary seemed completely frozen. His eyes moved from the paper in his hands to Sienna’s face, then back to the paper again as though he needed to make sure he had not misunderstood her.

He looked at her once more, his expression changing little by little as her words finally sank in.

‘Pregnant…! Sienna was pregnant!?’

For a man who had been prepared to spend the night worrying about why she looked so pale and exhausted, the news completely caught him off guard. Surprise, disbelief, happiness, and excitement all crossed his face in quick succession.

Zachary’s gaze fixed on hers, noticing her eyes sparkle with happiness as she looked at him. His lips parted slightly, but initially, no words emerged, as if he couldn’t find any to say.

Sienna felt a gentle warmth in her heart as she watched his surprised reaction. It was rare to see her husband express such an emotion.

It took several more seconds for Zachary to finally move. He sat on the edge of the bed and gently pulled her into his arms and held her tightly, as though he needed to feel her there before he could fully believe what he had just heard. Sienna smiled and wrapped her arms around him, feeling his happiness in the way he held her.

After holding her for a moment, Zachary slowly pulled back. His hands remained on her shoulders as he looked directly into her eyes, his expression still filled with disbelief and joy.

“My love… are you really pregnant?” he asked, his voice softer than before.

Sienna smiled at him and nodded.

“Yes. I’m really pregnant.”

Zachary stared at her for another moment, and the happiness in his eyes became impossible to hide. He looked down at her stomach instinctively, then back at her face, as if the simple act of looking at her could somehow make the news feel more real.

“Are you sure?” he asked, almost as though he needed to hear it one more time.

Sienna let out a quiet laugh. “Yes, I’m sure.”

Zachary shook his head slightly, still trying to take in the news. He then took her hands and held them gently. “Since when, you know? Why didn’t you tell me?”

“I had mild morning sickness over the past few days, but only yesterday did I decide to go to the hospital to get checked. I’m sorry, Zach…” Sienna smiled apologetically at him. “I didn’t tell you earlier because I wanted to surprise you…”

A soft smile appeared on his face before he lifted his hand to touch her cheek. He looked into her eyes briefly before admitting, “And you succeeded in shocking me. I didn’t imagine returning from my business trip and hearing this happy news…”

Sienna smiled wider, pleased that despite the ruined surprise, she had still managed to catch him completely off guard.

“So, you go there alone? Did Scott help you?”

“Mhmm… He helped me by referring me to the best OBGYN in the world who is also his mother. And Scott’s mother read the results for me,” she explained. “She said the test confirmed the pregnancy, and she asked us to come back and see her next week.”

Zachary listened carefully, his expression becoming more serious as he took in every word. Then his gaze softened again.

“We’ll go together,” he said immediately. “Whatever you need, I’ll be there.”

Sienna looked at him affectionately. “You were supposed to come home tomorrow.”

“I know.”

“And… Why did you come home tonight without telling me?”

“I wanted to surprise my wife.”

She smiled and reached for his hand. “You really did surprise me.”

Zachary gently squeezed her fingers, his eyes never leaving hers. The exhaustion from his long journey was still there, but the happiness on his face had completely changed the way he looked.

“I think you just gave me the best surprise of my life,” he said quietly.

Sienna leaned closer to him, resting her head against his shoulder. “Then I’m glad I told you tonight.”

Zachary wrapped his arm around her again and kissed the top of her head. For a while, they simply stayed that way, quietly taking in the news together.

The night had not gone the way either of them had expected, but neither of them cared anymore. Zachary had come home expecting to surprise his wife, only to discover that she had been carrying a much bigger surprise of her own.
