Sienna was taken aback that Zachary noticed she wasn’t in her best condition the moment he entered the room. She really did not feel well.

After dinner, when she returned to their bedroom, she had already started feeling sick. Not long after, she had thrown up everything she had eaten and drunk. She had tried to lie down and sleep, hoping the nausea would eventually pass, but she had been unable to rest.

This pregnancy already felt very different from her first one. She had tried to endure the discomfort on her own and make sure her face didn’t show it because she did not want to worry Zachary, especially when she knew he had been busy.

When he called her earlier, she had deliberately kept quiet about how sick she felt and told herself that she could manage until he came home.

But now he was already here, standing in front of her and looking at her with such concern that she could no longer avoid telling him that she was pregnant.

The only problem was that she still hadn’t decided how to reveal it. She had spent the previous day thinking about how she would surprise him.

‘Zach, you know what? You have successfully ruined my plan,’ she thought bitterly, though a small smile still appeared on her lips as she tried to reassure him.

“Nothing, I just can’t sleep,” she answered calmly.

Zachary’s expression remained serious. He stood so close to her and gently brushed his thumb across her cheek, his attention fixed entirely on her.

“Can’t sleep?” he asked.

“Yeah. I’ve tried meditating, but it just doesn’t work.”

Zachary studied her face for another moment, as though he was trying to decide whether she was telling him everything. He knew his wife well enough to recognize when she was hiding something, but he also knew that she would tell him when she was ready. Instead of pressing her, he carefully pulled her into his arms.

Sienna rested against his chest, finally allowing herself to relax after the surprise of seeing him. His familiar warmth and the steady sound of his breathing gave her a comfort she hadn’t realized she needed.

“I missed you,” she whispered.

Zachary tightened his arms around her and rested his cheek lightly against the top of her head. “I missed you too.”

For a moment, neither of them said anything. The long hours of travel, the late hour, and everything waiting for Zachary outside their home faded into the background. All he cared about now was the woman in his arms and the uneasy feeling he could not shake after seeing how pale and exhausted she looked.

He lowered his head and kissed her forehead gently.

“Come on,” he said softly. “You should rest.”

Sienna nodded against his chest, allowing him to guide her toward the bed. Even though she was still confused and a little overwhelmed by his unexpected return, having him beside her made the room feel different. She felt safer simply knowing that she no longer had to spend the night alone.

After making sure his wife was comfortable beneath the blanket, Zachary stood beside the bed, his eyes still fixed on her.

“Try to sleep first. I’ll clean up quickly and come back to keep you company.”

Sienna responded softly with a small, tired hum as she tried to close her eyes. However, they opened again almost immediately when she suddenly remembered that she still had to tell him about the pregnancy.

She stared at him as he walked away and removed his suit jacket. Despite everything she was feeling, she could not help admiring him. She never failed to feel lucky to be his wife. Even after several hours of traveling, he still looked handsome and masculine as he casually loosened his clothes.

After hanging his suit jacket on the suit stand, Zachary seemed to realize that she was watching him. He turned in her direction, and his hand had already begun unbuttoning his shirt.

A smile formed on his lips when he caught her staring.

“Why aren’t you asleep yet?” he asked, his voice carrying a hint of amusement.

Sienna hesitated for a brief moment. She had planned to surprise him differently, perhaps waiting until the morning or finding a more special way to tell him. But as she looked into his gentle eyes, she changed her mind. She decided not to wait.

She would simply give him the laboratory results and let him read them. She believed her husband would understand immediately.

“Can you take out a white envelope from the top drawer?”

Zachary glanced toward the dresser, then looked back at her with a puzzled expression.

“An envelope?”

“Mm-hmm. Go check.” Sienna smiled as she watched him become increasingly confused. “You can read the paper inside.”

Zachary walked toward the dresser and opened the top drawer. After searching for a moment, he found the white envelope and picked it up.

“Anderson Hospital?” he asked, his brows drawing together. “Why do you have this envelope?”

Concern began to appear in his eyes as he walked back toward the bed.

Sienna did not answer him immediately. Instead, she sat up and leaned back against the headboard, watching him closely.

Zachary sat on the edge of the bed and looked down at the envelope in his hands.

“Zach, check the contents, and you’ll see.”

“You went to the hospital without telling me?” he asked again.

He sounded more concerned than angry, and that made Sienna feel slightly guilty. He was still holding the envelope without opening it, his attention fixed on her as though he was trying to understand what had happened.

Sienna began to feel impatient.

‘Oh, my husband. Should I just tell him?’

She was already on the verge of abandoning her plan altogether. She had thought giving him the results would make everything obvious. Still, apparently, she had underestimated how seriously he would take the envelope without knowing what was inside.

Before she could say anything else, Zachary finally opened it and pulled out the laboratory report.
