Chapter 180: His Worry!
Chapter 180: His Worry!
Orchid Garden Apartment.
The very first thing Sienna did when she woke up was check her phone. As usual, she began her day by looking through her messages and notifications.
The night before, she had deliberately turned off her phone after sending Zachary a brief text. She had been worried that if he called, he would immediately realize something had happened to her.
As soon as the phone powered on, notifications began appearing one after another.
A few seconds later, she finally saw Zachary’s message.
"Good night, my wife. Have fun with Sky tomorrow! Don’t forget to send me a picture or video of you and Sky."
A smile slowly spread across her lips as she read his text. He hadn’t called her or asked about her injury, which meant Logan had kept his promise and hadn’t told him anything.
"Thank you, Logan..." she murmured softly.
Sienna set her phone aside and intended to go back to sleep for a little longer. Still, Skylar’s adorable face suddenly appeared in her mind. The thought of their plan to visit the amusement park instantly chased away the remaining drowsiness.
She hurried out of bed to freshen up, but the moment her feet touched the floor, pain shot through her inner thigh. Her injured hand felt numb, and a dull ache spread across the wound.
Letting out a long sigh, she remembered everything that had happened the night before. Fighting four gangsters had completely drained her energy, especially since she hadn’t been training regularly lately.
At the moment, it felt as if every muscle in her body had decided to protest.
After struggling for several minutes to wash up and get dressed using only one hand, Sienna finally left her bedroom.
She had barely stepped out of her bedroom to prepare breakfast when the doorbell rang.
Sienna stopped immediately and stared toward the front door.
Her plan with Skylar wasn’t until two hours later, and she wasn’t expecting anyone else.
"Who could that be? It’s only seven in the morning..." she muttered.
Almost instantly, the memory of the gangsters who had attacked her the previous night filled her mind. Unease settled in her chest. If those men had managed to find out where she lived, reaching this floor through the elevator wouldn’t be difficult.
Her fingers slowly curled into a fist as she stood frozen in place.
A few seconds later, the doorbell rang again.
This time, the person outside seemed determined to make her answer.
Taking a cautious breath, Sienna walked toward the door and looked through the peephole. The sight waiting for her made her blink in surprise.
Outside stood Skylar, looking impatient. Behind him was Logan, holding a large tote bag.
Sienna quickly unlocked the door.
"Good morning, Aunty Sienna," Skylar greeted warmly. Although his voice sounded cheerful, his eyes were filled with concern as he carefully examined her condition.
Sienna couldn’t help smiling at the sight of him. Dressed in a black hoodie, khaki pants, and white sneakers, with his favorite backpack hanging from one shoulder, he looked both stylish and adorable.
"Good morning to you, too, Sky. I thought you were coming at ten. I’m not even ready, and the amusement park isn’t open yet..."
Skylar nodded seriously.
"I know, Aunty. But I came early because I heard you were injured. So I asked Uncle Chef to prepare breakfast for you."
Sienna immediately glanced at Logan. She wanted to scold him for revealing her injury, but the apologetic smile on his face quickly softened her annoyance.
"Ma’am, this is your breakfast," Logan said, handing her the tote bag.
After she accepted it, he didn’t stay long.
"I’ll be waiting downstairs. If you need anything, just call me."
He gave a respectful nod before heading toward the elevator.
Sienna couldn’t help smiling. She made no attempt to stop him because her attention had already shifted back to Skylar, who was still staring at her bandaged hand with obvious concern.
"Come on in," she said, exaggeratingly cheerfully, as she stepped aside, hoping to ease his worry.
Skylar immediately walked into the apartment. This wasn’t his first visit, and he moved around so comfortably that he already seemed to belong there.
Sienna closed the door behind them.
"Sky, have you had breakfast yet?"
She looked over and saw him already sitting comfortably on the sofa.
"Not yet, Aunty. I want to eat breakfast with you."
"Alright. Let me get everything ready."
She carried the tote bag into the kitchen and unpacked its contents.
Inside, she found a container of her favorite fruit salad, a boiled egg, a tuna sandwich with sweet mustard for Skylar, and a coffee tumbler. When she opened it, the warm aroma of a café latte greeted her.
It was exactly the breakfast she usually had in the morning.
Sienna couldn’t help glancing toward Skylar.
’This little boy knew exactly what I liked and had even asked the chef to prepare it for me,’ she smiled, touched. ’You are so adorable, Sky... just like your daddy.’
After arranging everything on the dining table, she called him over.
Skylar quickly joined her and sat down across from her.
"Do you want milk or juice?" she asked.
"Milk, thank you."
Sienna poured him a glass and placed it in front of him.
"Here’s your warm milk."
Only after making sure he was settled did she sit down with her own breakfast. Rather than eating immediately, she watched him happily enjoy his sandwich.
"Did you tell your daddy about my injury?" she asked carefully.
She still hadn’t figured out how she was going to explain the wound to Zachary. If he found out, he would definitely want to know who had attacked her.
Skylar shook his head.
After swallowing a bite of his sandwich, he finally answered, "No. Logan said I mustn’t tell Daddy. He also said we shouldn’t go to the amusement park because you might not be able to walk much."
Sienna nearly laughed. Her hand was injured, not her feet. Of course, she could still walk.
"Thank you for not telling your daddy," she said with a smile. "And don’t worry, you and me, we’re still going to the amusement park."
