The Queen Mother disliked Paige Desmond, and by extension she didn’t like Dylan either. If this were before, the Queen Mother would have already exploded in fierce rebuttal.

Kiya was already well past thirty now and didn’t even have a daughter. How could the Queen Mother not worry? If Dylan really was Kiya’s child, the Queen Mother could set aside past grievances and bring Dylan back to the palace.

But first, they had to get to the bottom of whether Dylan was truly Kiya’s flesh and blood.

The birth of that little bastard Moore had forced the Queen Mother to be cautious; she never wanted such a scandal to appear in the Royal Family again.

"That woman made such a scene at the press conference. To shut everyone up, just do a paternity test.

If Dylan really is your child, then we’ll make him Crown Prince."

The Queen Mother spoke in a tone as if she were bestowing a favor, but Kiya listened with a deepening frown, his mood souring. Dylan was his only son; even if it was his own mother, he would not allow anyone to question his bloodline.

"Mother, Dylan is my son. There’s no need to do any paternity test.

Mother, you are Dylan’s grandmother. Please don’t say such things again." Kiya’s expression darkened on the spot.

The Queen Mother looked at her son. So he really was the Sultan now. When his face sank like this, the pressure that emanated from him made even her, his mother, feel guilty.

"Sultan, the Royal Family’s bloodline must not be muddled. This isn’t just my opinion; I believe many people think the same.

If you truly care about Dylan, you should do a paternity test to dispel everyone’s doubts.

You don’t want Dylan’s status to be questioned and gossiped about, do you?" The Queen Mother didn’t clash head‑on as she used to, but instead coaxed him in a gentle voice, wearing the tone of "I’m only doing this for your own good."

"Mother, focus on recovering your health. As for other matters, don’t worry about them."

Kiya helped his mother lie down. Seeing that she still wanted to speak, he said, "Mother, the press conference is about to start. I should go. I’ll come over this evening to have dinner with you."

"Kiya..."

"Mother, is there anything else?"

The Queen Mother looked at her son. Seeing the firm lines of his face and the displeasure hidden in his eyes, she didn’t continue.

Kiya was no longer the Kiya who listened to her on every little thing. He’d grown up now, his wings toughened.

"Mother, get some rest."

After visiting the Queen Mother, Kiya went straight to the press conference venue.

It was time to let his people know he was still alive, that he had returned.

The blood on the white marble floor had long since been scrubbed clean, as if that bloody, stormy night had never happened.

Kiya walked toward the hall with firm steps.

How he wished he could be holding Paige Desmond’s hand right now, appearing at the press conference with his two daughters, telling everyone that this was their Queen, and the little Princess who had only just been born.

"Paige, when are you coming home?"

...

At dusk, as the sun sank in the west, the Imperial Mausoleum lay lush and green, not the least bit eerie. Adrian Desmond strolled through it; the surroundings were very quiet, with only the chirping of birds.

Marion caught up and stood behind Adrian, saying, "Sixth Master, we’ve searched all around. We didn’t find Madam."

"Mm."

Adrian continued walking deeper in. Marion didn’t know why Adrian kept going in, but he followed behind without disturbing him.

Marion’s phone rang. It was calls from the other search teams. He answered, only to hear one disappointing report after another.

No news of Sienna Johnson.

Marion’s phone finally fell silent. Adrian looked into the distance and asked, "Still no news?"

Marion said quietly, "We still haven’t found her."

"Anything from Sabrina Conner’s side?"

"There are Night Owl people at the docks. We didn’t dare get too close, but we saw Sabrina get on Night Owl’s boat. They left on a yacht."

Adrian halted, then turned and walked back the way they’d come.

He couldn’t figure out where Night Owl had managed to hide a living, breathing person.

...

On the Ocean, a yacht was cutting through the water. A dozen people were patrolling the deck, carefully scanning the sea to prevent anyone from catching up.

Night Owl looked at the "Beryllium" in front of him and asked, "Why are you still alive?"

Sabrina lowered her head and said nothing.

"Useless trash!" Night Owl cursed.

Sabrina stuck to Adrian’s instructions: the more you say, the more wrong you get; the less you say, the less wrong you get. Besides, at this point she had no idea what she should say.

Being cursed? She might as well treat it like her own grandson yelling at her.

Sabrina consoled herself like that in her head.

Lithium wasn’t feeling any better. There were only him and Beryllium left now; he hadn’t expected even Silicon to die. He didn’t know when his own turn would come.

Lithium couldn’t help pleading for Sabrina. "Master, Beryllium was injured too. He clearly had no way to save Silicon; otherwise how could he possibly come back alone? Just forgive damn Beryllium."

Night Owl’s face was dark, like a venomous snake flicking its tongue. "You two pieces of trash—if you hadn’t led Adrian to me, how would Adrian ever have known I hid Sienna Johnson in a burial chamber of the Imperial Mausoleum?"

Sabrina was horrified. Luckily she’d kept her head down, or Night Owl would have seen the shock written on her face.

No wonder they’d turned Abyanabad upside down and still couldn’t find Sienna Johnson—this sick freak had actually hidden her in a tomb.

What a complete psycho, to even come up with a place like that.

Sixth Master and the others would never think Sienna Johnson was under the Imperial Mausoleum. She had to find a way to get the news to him, and fast.

"Lithium, go find out where Sienna Johnson is now," Night Owl ordered.

Sabrina volunteered, "Master, let me go. This whole mess happened because I didn’t do my job. Let me make up for it with merit."

Night Owl stared at Sabrina for a long time without speaking. Sabrina realized she’d said too much and hurriedly bowed her head, shutting up.

Her heart was anxious, wondering if she’d been found out.

If her cover was blown, she was finished. Everyone on this boat was highly skilled; one‑on‑one she wasn’t afraid, but a group beat‑down was another story.

"Lithium, you go."

Sabrina couldn’t figure out what Night Owl was thinking. Anyway, he hadn’t let her go; he’d sent Lithium instead.

After Lithium left, Night Owl said to Sabrina, "Get out. I don’t want to see you."

"Yes, Master." Sabrina kept a stiff face as she answered.

She turned, tamping down the flicker of joy in her chest, and walked out.

As soon as she came out, she headed for the bathroom. She took out her phone, intending to tell Adrian the news, only to find she didn’t have a single bar of signal.

The tiny flame in her heart was doused.

Out here on the vast Ocean, aside from using her phone to inform Adrian of Sienna Johnson’s whereabouts, Sabrina couldn’t think of any other way.

Jump overboard and swim to shore?
