The Bigshot Married Himself to the Heiress

Chapter 1277 - 1217: Imprisoned in the Imperial Mausoleum

  • Next Chapter

Abyanabad Royal Mausoleum, where green trees provide shade, and the paths are very quiet.

The entire mausoleum is divided into several parts: the archway, the pavilion, the spirit way, tombstones, and burial mounds. The mausoleum is grand, elegant, and solemn.

Underground within the mausoleum, there is no sunlight, no moon or stars, only artificial lighting perpetually lit. Sienna Johnson was held captive inside the Abyanabad Royal Mausoleum.

Night Owl pushed open the bedroom door, and Sienna Johnson was lying on the bed.

It was already noon, but she couldn’t differentiate night from day. She had no idea how long she’d been here, only that it felt interminably lengthy, as if it had been a lifetime.

Sienna Johnson felt truly afraid now, scared that one day she would leave, and the children would grow up, Adrian Desmond would age, she would age too, and Night Owl and the children wouldn’t recognize her anymore.

"I know you’re awake, stop pretending to sleep."

Night Owl sat down at the edge of her bed, and as soon as his hand reached out, Sienna Johnson opened her eyes.

They stared at each other for a moment, neither speaking, the warm yellow wall lamp illuminating Night Owl, softening his facial lines.

Sienna Johnson glanced at his hand suspended in mid-air, then sat up and asked, "Are you planning to keep me locked in a tomb of the undead for a lifetime?"

Despite the place being as extravagant as a palace from the Aurinnois Louis XVI era, in reality, it was a cemetery. She resided beneath it in the mausoleum, surrounded by the remains of previous Abyanabad Sultans and Queens.

The mere thought of her location chilled Sienna Johnson to the bone.

The man before her knew her weaknesses and used them to cage her. Sienna Johnson lacked the courage to step outside this room into the mausoleum beyond.

"If I don’t keep you here, you’ll run... Should I just watch you go back to Adrian Desmond?"

Night Owl added, "The mausoleum exit is blocked by a ten-ton boulder; you won’t be able to open it alone."

"Night Owl, don’t you keep saying you love me? Do you love me by treating me like the living dead, locked away in a mausoleum like a zombie?" Sienna Johnson said angrily.

If she hadn’t studied psychology and constantly adjusted her mindset, Sienna Johnson would have been driven insane by now.

"This is the only way I could think of. It was my first time falling in love with a woman; I won’t give up. I’ll use every means to have you!"

"Night Owl, do you understand what love is?" Her gaze mocked him.

"Love is wanting to possess you!"

Sienna Johnson appeared mocking and defiant, saying, "What if I never love you in this lifetime?"

"Then I’ll keep you locked up for life!"

Sienna Johnson’s hands clenched tightly on her lap, her eyes filled with anger. "Why? What gives you the right to imprison me? Who do you think you are? Do you think you’re a god that can arbitrarily decide someone else’s fate?

Do you really love me? You don’t understand what love is; you don’t respect me at all... What am I to you?"

"You’re the woman I love! Marry me, and I’ll treat you better than Adrian Desmond ever did."

"I’ll never marry you! You’re insane!"

"I only used the methods Adrian Desmond once used; back then, you hated him to the bone, but now you love him.

Women are all soft-hearted."

Sienna Johnson shook her head. Times change, and now she was the mother of four children. How could she abandon her four children for a man?

She never would—she would never fall in love with Night Owl.

"Impossible! Give it up!" Sienna Johnson told him steadfastly.

"I believe you will," Night Owl confidently replied.

This ghostly place, Adrian Desmond would never guess she was hiding here.

Seeing Sienna Johnson angry and ignoring him, Night Owl sighed. "Sienna, do I really have to drive you to desperation for you to stay by my side at peace?" Truthfully, he didn’t want to do this.

Night Owl reached out, his large hand gripping her chin, a glimmer of sadness in his eyes. "Why can’t you try to love me? Why does it seem that no matter how hard I try, I can never walk into your heart?"

When faced with her indifference, Night Owl also experienced moments of despair.

"We’re not from the same world!"

"Not from the same world? Are you living in the Underworld, and I’m living above ground?"

"At present, it seems I’m living in the Underworld, and you’re above ground.

Keep me locked in the mausoleum long enough, and soon enough, one of us will truly live in the Underworld while the other lives above ground."

This state was too dreadful; Sienna Johnson didn’t know how long she could endure.

"If you die, I’ll make a specimen out of you and keep it in my bedroom!"

"..."

"The dead are great—they never betray!" Night Owl released his hand suddenly, standing up. His gaze was fierce, watching Sienna Johnson before turning to leave.

Sienna Johnson only felt chills run through her.

The door Night Owl left through was open, but Sienna Johnson lacked the courage to walk out.

Outside was boundless darkness; thinking of the Abyanabad Sultans and Queens’ remains lying outside chilled Sienna Johnson to the bone.

Sienna Johnson sat on the bed, blankly staring at a spot within the room, her entire being seemingly absent.

She sat for a long time, until hunger pulled her thoughts back.

It was time to eat again, but she didn’t know what time it was. She had asked Night Owl for a clock to know the time, but he refused.

When suffering, time becomes infinitely prolonged; what might only be a day could extend to a month or a year in a pained person’s mind...

Night Owl was adept at destroying others’ willpower.

Sienna Johnson got up and went into the kitchen, which was fully equipped, the fridge stuffed full. Sienna Johnson took out tomatoes and eggs and simply fried some tomato and egg, also cooking some plain noodles, which mixed with the tomato turned into tomato and egg tossed noodles.

Sienna Johnson forced herself to eat; in this state, she would actually die if she didn’t eat or drink.

Night Owl and the children were still waiting for her at home; she couldn’t back down.

Sienna Johnson forced herself to eat half of the tomato tossed noodles, then couldn’t eat any more.

Sienna Johnson dumped the remaining noodles in the trash, cleaned the bowl, and put it back in the cabinet.

She exited the kitchen, and the door was still open. Sienna Johnson slowly walked towards it.

She paused a meter from the door, with the room’s light illuminating into the infinite darkness outside, brightening a small patch, surrounded by boundless darkness.

The darkness was terrifying; you didn’t know what lay within it...

Sienna Johnson was paralyzed by the darkness, but stepped forward again, arriving at the door.

She pushed the door wider, allowing more light to break through the darkness.
