The Beast Tamer Who Sees Hidden Evolution Paths
Chapter 15: Bond Awakening Art, Violet’s Pagoda
The light clusters were small, but if one looked closely, the special shapes flickering within them became visible.
The leftmost cluster was pure white. Inside it, a condensed river seemed to flow slowly.
The middle cluster was dim, its light like connected stars—a constellation in the night sky.
The rightmost cluster was the deepest. Within it, rays of light formed an ancient book, its surface seemingly etched with characters and lines.
A [Gift of All Spirits] after helping a beast evolve into a hidden form—was this what the S+ talent brought?
Adrian could feel different energy fluctuations from each cluster.
On closer sensing, the pure white one should be able to raise his spiritual power as a beast tamer.
His spiritual power was not high. Beast tamers normally only began growing it after contracting their first beast, through the feedback from the beast and the [Tamer Space] serving as the connection and framework for their spiritual river.
The dim cluster with flickering stars—he could feel that energy too. It seemed more inclined toward strengthening beasts. Whether it could only strengthen beasts he had contracted, or any beast he chose, he did not know.
If it was the former, there was nothing he could do. After all, his first [Tamer Space] was still completely empty.
As for the third cluster, the feeling it gave Adrian was the most mysterious.
That ancient quality, that sense of flowing knowledge, stirred his heart the most.
If he was not mistaken, this should be an inheritance of a [Tamer Art].
[Tamer Arts] were a lifelong subject accompanying beast tamers. They were also a key factor in whether a tamer could help raise a beast’s ceiling.
There were many types. What kind of [Tamer Arts] a tamer could master largely depended on their talent.
Adrian currently only mastered one, the [Contract Art]. It was something Grade 10 students had to learn. It was the key to contracting beasts.
Adrian did not know how great the boost was from evolving a beast into a brand-new hidden form at one hundred percent compatibility. But he made his decision quickly.
He chose the third cluster.
Methods to raise spiritual power and beast strength could be found in the future.
But a precious [Tamer Art] might be something one could search a lifetime for and never obtain.
As if sensing Adrian’s will, the other two clusters slowly dissipated.
The last cluster seemed to fly out of the panel, then gently drifted to the space between Adrian’s brows, merging into him like mist.
Adrian immediately felt a vast amount of mysterious content appear in his mind.
Ancient characters spun in his head. The rules and methods for how to apply spiritual power to cast the art flowed like a murmuring stream, slowly soaking into his knowledge system.
Adrian slowly sat down cross-legged. The three beasts beside him seemed to sense his wondrous state.
They did not know what had happened to Adrian, but they could all feel it should be something good. Especially because around Adrian, an energy seemed to flow that made them comfortable—even something they deeply desired…

That energy was like an ancient call, as if from very, very far away. Yet right now, it was very, very close…
About an hour later.
Adrian had digested the art.
[Bond Awakening Art]. This was a [Tamer Art] that even now he found hard to believe he had learned in just one hour.
Back when he learned the [Contract Art], the teacher had spent an entire semester on it.
Even though he was the earliest in the grade to learn it completely, it had still taken him nearly a month.
He also immediately understood that what made this [Gift of All Spirits] even more precious was that he could perfectly adapt to it in a short time, mastering the power and knowledge he received.
Was this gift perhaps the reward for changing a beast’s fate?
Reviewing the [Bond Awakening Art] again, once mastered, it was actually very simple.
Even as a newly minted One-Star Beast Tamer, he could use it.
The key prerequisite was the first two words of this [Tamer Art]—bond.
Bond, put simply, was affinity.
And it was not limited to contracted beasts. Even beasts Adrian had not contracted, as long as the bond was sufficient, could be affected by this Awakening Art.
Right now, Adrian could clearly feel he could use it on Violet or Roxy.
Violet had grown up with him. Roxy had come to this home when he was six. Their bonds definitely qualified.
As for Lionel, they had only met today. That would have to build slowly.
Besides this most important prerequisite, there was another limit.
Adrian could not use this [Tamer Art] without restraint. Based on his tamer star rank, spiritual power, mastery of the [Tamer Art], and the level and strength of the beast being awakened, using this art also had a cooldown.
As for the effect of the awakening, the words in this ancient inheritance were clear enough.
“Bond Awakening Art. The receiver melts the bloodline of its body, the traits of its soul, the character of its heart, and the experiences that forged it. Shape it, create it, and a new chapter is formed—possessing a new bond ability.”
“As the art rises, the beast rises. Ability rises with it.”
In Adrian’s understanding, the beast would gain a new [Trait]. The factors determining this trait were mainly the beast’s own quality, original traits, personality and conduct—even its past experiences could influence it.
And as long as Adrian became more proficient in this [Bond Awakening Art] and the beast’s strength increased, the “bond trait” it gained would also grow.
This preciousness could leave any beast tamer dumbstruck.
The ancient inheritance, along with the [Gift of All Spirits], landed on Adrian’s shoulders.
He immediately felt the role he seemed to be taking on, and his sense of mission grew—he could not only change a beast’s fate, but also receive the “blessing” of the beast whose fate he had changed, slowly altering the trajectory of his own destiny.
During Violet’s entire evolution, he had absorbed a great deal of energy from the [Spirit Energy Burst]. Right now, he was full of energy.
After thinking for a while, he decided to use this ability on Violet first.
Roxy’s injury had not healed yet. When she recovered to her best state in the future, it would not be too late to awaken her then.
He had sat here for an hour, and none of the three beasts had left.
Adrian sensed their emotions.
Violet and Roxy were more worried. Lionel was a little surprised and curious.
After all, sitting silently for over an hour was indeed a bit odd.
And they all shared one emotion—anticipation.
Was it because of the [Bond Awakening Art]?
“Violet, congratulations on your successful evolution. You evolved into the form you like most, the one that makes you most comfortable.” Adrian stroked Violet’s petals again. “And thank you for the gift you brought me.”
To Adrian, this [Tamer Art] was, in a way, also brought by Violet.
After all, it was a gift born from her hidden evolution form.
“I’ll give you a gift too.” Adrian said softly.
Then he guided the [Bond Awakening Art] to circulate, flowing clumsily yet precisely through his body, slowly gathering at his fingertips.
He gently touched Violet’s petals.
That touch drained a great deal of Adrian’s strength. He immediately felt his spirit stall, his head go empty, his legs a little weak.
But fortunately, it was not a one hundred percent drain of spiritual power and physical stamina. He could still restrain the weakness. After steadying himself, he immediately observed Violet’s current appearance.
Her form had not changed.
But her aura had shifted somewhat.
She had originally taken a pagoda shape, but Adrian felt that was just an outward manifestation of her form.
Now, the pagoda was gradually materializing toward the concept of a “pagoda.”
Behind Violet, a pagoda’s phantom image seemed to truly appear.
Still ethereal and immortal.
But within this pagoda, Adrian sensed another emotion and atmosphere.
It seemed to carry a hint of “home.”
Was it because of the devotion and homebound nature in Violet’s personality?
Adrian looked at her panel. After the traits column, a new trait had truly appeared.
And this trait flickered with a faint yellow light—the same color as the characters drawn in that ancient book he had seen.
[Pagoda]. This was the new trait Violet produced after being awakened.
