Chapter 144: Chapter 143: Healing Wind

On Han Ning’s side, as well as over at Biyun Resort, there wasn’t a lot of useful material left. Coupled with the limited space on the boat, the loading work was entirely finished in less than an afternoon.

As evening approached, the members of Han Ning’s team sat around a crackling campfire. Above their heads floated a glowing, sparkling orb that emitted a faint, warm aura, dispelling the surrounding chill.

"Boss, the supplies have been loaded and inventoried," Xu Ming began to report on the situation. "Considering the space on the boat, we kept three and a half barrels of diesel.

"In terms of food, the canned goods, compressed rations, and fresh vegetables combined can sustain all of us for about half a month.

"We have a total of 25 Energy Crystals in storage. The flesh and bones from the Water Monkeys, Lai Gao Bao, sharks, Elite Black Snakes, and Strange Fish have been sorted and stored in the safe..."

Xu Ming categorized and detailed their current inventory of supplies, presenting it in a highly professional manner.

After the report, Professor Ye took over the conversation. "As for Extraordinary Crops, we’ve stored 47 seeds of the Water Jet Melon and 32 seeds of the Healing Melon, all kept in special waterproof canisters.

"The three Red Mist Tomato plants and ten Jade Potatoes we propagated, along with two Water Jet Melons and two Healing Melons for research, have all been placed in the mutated crop area."

Most of the extraordinary melons they cultivated had been handed over to Chairman Wu and his people. Currently, a total of 12 Water Jet Melons and 4 Healing Melons had been propagated, not including those for research. The remaining melons were kept to observe their upper strength limits, and Han Ning had formed contracts with all of them.

"The seeds from the seed bank have all been transferred over, and the High-Energy Soil is perfectly sealed," Professor Ye continued. "I am specially looking after the unmutated Vajra Vines and Venus Flytraps. It’s very cold now, and these ordinary crops can easily die off suddenly.

"There is also some space reserved. I plan to use it to place some rice soil or for other crops we might cultivate in the future."

For them right now, ordinary crops with short maturation periods didn’t need to take up storage space. If they wanted to eat them, they could just use Rapid Growth to cultivate them directly.

Han Ning listened quietly.

In truth, they didn’t have many resources. He had set aside a rather large area inside the boat for the group to rest, ensuring everyone could stretch their legs, toss and turn freely, and sleep comfortably. Resting well and maintaining their physical condition was especially important.

Things like food could be obtained by hunting monsters and using their corpses to cultivate crops. As for water, he could use the water condensed by the water stream vines for drinking. Currently, they lacked neither food nor water; what they lacked were means to withstand risks.

"Uncle Han," a tender voice broke the brief silence.

Sitting on a small stool under a tiny orb of light with her knees hugged to her chest, Xu Yinyin’s large eyes sparkled brightly in the illumination. She looked at Yu Na, who was sitting next to Han Ning and listening intently, and asked, "Will Sister Yu Na be staying with us all the time?"

"That depends on what your Sister Yu Na wants," Han Ning replied.

Everyone’s gaze subconsciously fell on Yu Na.

"I’m going with you guys," Yu Na spoke up without much hesitation. She paused for a moment before adding, "There are too many people on Sister Qianqian’s boat."

Han Ning smiled but didn’t say anything.

The environment on their side was indeed much better. Furthermore, ever since Han Ning arrived at the Biyun Resort, Yu Na had fought alongside him from day one and frequently followed him around during this time. Later on, she had also actively helped them with their tasks.

In fact, Han Ning already considered Yu Na as one of his own. He knew this girl had a tough exterior but a soft heart, acting cold on the outside but warm on the inside, and her abilities were highly useful.

It was just that Yu Na’s abilities were somewhat strange. She had certainly absorbed a considerable amount of Energy alongside everyone else—definitely more than Professor Ye and Xu Ming. Yet, there were still no signs of a qualitative change in her abilities.

There were only two possibilities for this. Either Yu Na’s Talent had reached its limit, making it hard to progress any further, or her abilities were exceptionally strong, requiring far more Energy for a breakthrough than others.

Once the report concluded, everyone dispersed to rest.

On the ground in front of Han Ning lay two dozen or so neatly arranged Energy Crystal Stones of varying sizes and shapes. In the dim light, these crystals shimmered with faint blue, deep red, or earthy yellow halos. They were Energy Crystals extracted from the bodies of Elite Black Snake Monsters, the Water Monkey Captain, and several powerful Sea Beasts. Every single one contained a good amount of Energy.

Considering they would be departing tomorrow and not knowing what dangers they might face, he planned to absorb the Energy from these crystals first to raise his Level.

Reaching out, his fingertips glowed with a faint emerald-green aura as he gently pressed down on the first faint blue crystal. This was a Crystal Stone from an Elite Black Snake.

BUZZ!

A burst of cold Energy surged up Han Ning’s arm and rushed into his body. It was then rapidly broken down and assimilated, transforming into a pure, warm current that merged into his limbs and bones.

[Druid Growth Progress +280. Current Level: Lv7 (3466/4000)]

Han Ning didn’t pause, immediately grabbing the second, dark ink-green crystal.

[Druid Growth Progress +265. Current Level: Lv7 (3731/4000)]

The third one...

[Druid Growth Progress +201. Current Level: Lv7 (3932/4000)]

BOOM!

When the Energy from the fourth crystal was completely absorbed, it felt as though some invisible barrier within Han Ning’s body had abruptly shattered. A warm current, far more surging and immense than any before, violently erupted and swept through his entire body.

[Earth Druid Lv7 → Lv8. Current Progress: (1/5000)]

[Mental Power +0.5. Current Mental Power: 4.0]

[Maximum Spiritual Power +20. Current Spiritual Power: 120/120 (Humanoid Form)]

[New Skill Unlocked: Healing Wind (Basic Level)]

A stream of information regarding the new skill flooded into Han Ning’s mind. He instantly understood that this was an exclusive skill of the Earth Society, unlocked after raising the Skill Levels of [Rejuvenation Technique], [Natural Blessing], and [Tree Skin Technique] to the High Level.

[Healing Wind (Basic Level)]:

The Druid engages in Communication with Nature and the Earth, releasing a healing wind imbued with Life Energy. Within the area enveloped by the wind, all allies will continuously recover from injuries, undergo Purification of negative status effects, and slightly restore Spiritual Power. At the same time, empowered by the Earth Society, the Healing Wind will form an additional, tough "Natural Protective Membrane" on the targets’ bodies, enhancing their physical and Element resistance.

At almost the exact same time Han Ning broke through...

ROAR...

In the accumulated water downstairs, Snow Cake, who had been quietly guarding the perimeter of the boat, raised its head and let out a low, satisfied cry. As its master absorbed the Energy from the Crystal Stones, a significant portion was shared with it.

[Three-Color Gemstone Crocodile Lizard Lv7 → Lv8. Current Progress: (1/4500)]

[Mental Power +0.2. Current Mental Power: 1.4]

Its body size grew outward just a bit more, though it still didn’t comprehend any new Skills. Between the man and the lizard, they absorbed the vast majority of the Energy; the other melons only received a tiny fraction.

...

Han Ning picked up the remaining Crystal Stones and continued to absorb them.

[Druid Growth Progress +120. Current Level: Lv8 (120/5000)]

[Druid Growth Progress +110. Current Level: Lv8 (230/5000)]

"The Energy has attenuated by about 30% again." Han Ning’s expression remained unchanged as he noticed the data shifting on his status panel.

This was something to be expected. As his Level increased, the Energy was further compressed and purified. Those originally lower-level Energies would provide less and less progress.

It wasn’t until he had absorbed all but five of the Crystal Stones that Han Ning’s growth progress barely broke past 1000. Over on Snow Cake’s side, it hadn’t even reached 500.

Han Ning stopped.

The 5000 progress points needed to upgrade to Lv9 were barely a fifth complete, and the remaining Crystal Stones weren’t enough to fill that massive gap. He needed to keep some strategic reserves for the team, whether for cultivating plants or dealing with emergencies.
