The Apocalypse Strikes, I Became a Druid
Chapter 140 Little Conch Horn
Chapter 140: Chapter 139: Little Conch Horn
"Help! Save me..."
The exchange with the siblings Jiang Yuan and Jiang Rui had lasted less than a minute. In the dim distance, amidst the howling wind and hail, waves of desperate cries for help echoed once more!
"Not again!" Chairman Wu’s expression changed as he immediately looked into the distance.
Golden light flowed in Han Ning’s Molten Gold Tiger Eyes, piercing the veil of rain to lock onto the source of the voices.
In the rapidly flowing floodwaters, about a dozen figures were clinging desperately to floating construction debris, struggling madly amidst the surging waves. And beneath the surface around them, several dark shadows emerged silently.
SPLASH!
An arm with razor-sharp claws reached out of the water, dragging down one of the drowning victims who was crying for help.
Suddenly, the dark shadows besieging the victims stopped. They poked their heads out of the water, extending their dark green tongues to lick the surface a few times. Then, in unison, they turned their gazes toward the office building.
"We’ve been spotted. Prepare for battle," Han Ning ordered in a low voice.
"HOWL!" The Tri-Colored Crystal Scale on Snow Cake’s forehead flashed. An invisible Spiritual Scream expanded, attempting to intimidate the menacing dark shadows.
HUM~
Struck by the Spiritual Shock, the Water Monkeys experienced a brief sluggishness in their movements. Just then...
WOOO~~~
A deep, distant, and eerie conch horn echoed clearly in everyone’s ears, piercing through the gale. The horn carried a peculiar rhythm that made one’s scalp tingle and spirit daze, while simultaneously calming the frenzied Water Monkeys.
A giant toad, comparable in size to a small car, surfaced from the water, floating half-submerged. Its skin was dark, rough, and covered in warts, its cold eyes completely devoid of emotion.
On the toad’s broad back stood a figure. The figure was about 1.7 meters tall and generally humanoid. Its appearance was identical to the other Water Monkeys, but unlike them, this monster held a twisted, pale-white conch-like instrument, blowing into it.
WOO-WAH, WOO-WAH~
As the conch horn sounded, the Water Monkeys, which had been disoriented by Snow Cake’s Spiritual Scream, became extremely excited. They lunged toward the office building with reckless abandon.
From beneath the surface, several mutated Strange Fish—over three meters long, resembling saber-toothed pomfrets, and armed with maws full of fangs—burst out of the water, jaws wide open as they snapped at the Awakened by the windows.
"ROAR!!"
Golden flames erupted in Han Ning’s eyes, and a tiger’s roar burst forth like a thunderclap. The near-tangible soundwaves blasted outward, shocking the vanguard Water Monkeys into another pause, while several Strange Fish were left completely dizzy.
A thick tiger paw swatted out, crushing the head of a Water Monkey that had reached into the window. With a twist of his body, he dodged the bite of a Strange Fish. His sturdy tiger tail swung down with the momentum, striking another Strange Fish on its side and instantly smashing it into bloody mist.
But driven by the horn, even more Water Monkeys and Strange Fish began to scale the office building’s cold outer wall.
"Hold them back! Don’t let them climb up!" Chairman Wu ordered. With a flick of his hands, he tossed out semi-transparent soap bubbles.
Vice President Zhao growled, his muscles bulging and steam erupting from his body. He grabbed a heavy metal office desk and hurled it at the climbing monsters.
The battle broke out at the windowsills on the third floor of the office building. Han Ning’s tiger paws struck continuously, killing several Water Monkeys attempting to swarm through the windows. However, his Molten Gold Battle Tiger form felt somewhat cumbersome fighting in the narrow window spaces.
Seeing a few Water Monkeys bypass his defensive zone and swarm toward an adjacent window, lightning flickered in his eyes. Surging blue electricity flared. The massive frame of the Molten Gold Battle Tiger shrank rapidly, transforming into an agile, streamlined figure covered in short, aqua-blue fur.
CRACKLE!
Blinding blue and white electrical arcs danced and popped across Han Ning’s body. In his Thunder Marsh Mink form, Han Ning kicked off the windowsill with all four paws.
BOOM!
Electricity burst, blasting a scorched mark into the window frame. His figure blurred into an afterimage of lightning that tore through the hail. He darted and vaulted at extreme speeds between the office building’s exterior wall and the floating debris on the water.
Lightning crisscrossed.
THWACK! THWACK! THWACK!
Every time the lightning flashed and paused, it was accompanied by the muffled thuds of sharp claws tearing through Scale Armor and piercing skulls. A Water Monkey that had just climbed onto the third-floor windowsill had its head blasted through by lightning.
In his Thunder Marsh Mink form, Han Ning pushed his speed to the absolute limit. Using the three-dimensional space between the building, broken walls, and floating debris as springboards, he executed a hyper-speed slaughter.
The conch-blowing Water Monkey sensed the lethal threat. The horn notes grew more frantic and shrill, attempting to command more monsters to intercept that deadly bolt of blue lightning. But in the face of absolute speed, its reaction was completely futile.
"I’ve reached you," Han Ning’s icy voice sounded as if he were whispering right into the Water Monkey’s ear.
The conch-wielding Water Monkey’s eerie green pupils shrank. It only saw a blinding blue and white flash of lightning bypass several Water Monkeys and Strange Fish blocking the way, shooting straight into the air above the giant toad.
Han Ning pounced down from mid-air, his right claw raised high. The Power of Thunder, compressed to the extreme, coalesced at the tips of his claws into a blazing, dazzling blade of lightning.
[Thunder Fang]: The Thunder Marsh Mink concentrates condensed lightning Energy into its fangs and claws, gaining a high-temperature piercing effect.
"Die!"
The lightning blade flickered with dazzling electricity. It descended with a crackle, tracing a brilliant trajectory straight toward the conch-wielding Water Monkey’s brain.
Horror filled the conch-wielding Water Monkey’s eyes. Hissing black mist spewed from its body, hastily forming an eerie skull of dark smoke to block the attack from above.
CRACK!
The blinding lightning engulfed the conch-wielding Water Monkey and the giant toad beneath its feet. As the violent electricity rampaged, the giant toad’s body convulsed. Its limbs went rigid, and it plunged stiffly into the water.
The lightning clashed with the black mist skull, dispersing large swathes of the smoke. The black mist skull opened its jaws in a silent roar before being completely scoured away. With its obstacle gone, the remaining lightning lost none of its momentum as it continued to strike downward.
The conch in the Water Monkey’s hands was struck by lightning, sending sparks flying everywhere. Its scale-covered body erupted in electric flashes, emitting wisps of black smoke. Just like the giant toad, its body locked up, and it tumbled into the water.
As the conch-wielding Water Monkey dragged a long trail of water down into the depths of the flood, a blue and white streak of lightning followed closely behind. Sharp claws, shining with blue and white lightning, slashed across.
A hideous head was pushed up by the current, leaving a charred trail at the severed stump.

The blinding electric light slowly dissipated, leaving behind over a dozen floating corpses that were quickly being washed away by the floodwaters.
With the death of the conch-wielding Water Monkey, the eerie horn notes came to an abrupt halt. The remaining Water Monkeys and other monsters lost their command. Unlike the Black Snake Swarm, they did not continue their attack. Instead, they attempted to dive into the water and scatter in all directions.
"Leave none alive. Kill them all!" Han Ning’s voice, tinged with an electronic echo, rang out across the battlefield.
