West had some how managed to talk the group in to going to the party

Niya even agreed with him as she said that a party was the best thing they need to to shake off about their near-death experience at Post Six.

Now everyone was just getting ready to go to the party.

In the bunk room the clerk had assigned to them, West was already fully dressed and ready to go. He was sitting with his legs crossed on top of his bed and whistling a happy tune as he wait for Evan and Reynold to get ready.

The clerk put all three of them in the same room.

"Get up. We are ready," Evan suddenly said as he tossed a wrapped cloth straight at West and it landed on West chest.

West quickly stand up as he continues whistling and walking to the door.

Reynold seeing his happy face, shook his head as he let out a drg smile. West was already bouncing.

Damn! The dude has been vibrating with pure joy ever since he heard about the party.

What is his obsession with parties anyway? Reynold thought.

Reynold followed behind them as they left the room.

He locked their door and they headed down the corridor toward the girls’ side of the barracks.

Nyx was already waiting outside a door and she was leaning casually against the stone frame.

She was dressed in a sleek black leather jacket, black trousers, and sturdy black boots.

Just then, Niya and Lyra stepped out of the room right next door, while Nymeria came out from the door where Nyx was standing.

West’s eyes instantly shifted to Nymeria with his mouth a bit opened. She was wearing a short simple dress but it was covered with a long blue leather jacket that stopped almost to her knees.

"You guys look good," Evan said with a broad smile already spreading on his face.

Evan’s voice snapped West back to reality as he blinked and close his mouth. He then shifted his eyes away from Nymeria, before he clapped his hands together with sudden, explosive enthusiasm. "Right! What are we standing around for? Let’s go crush this party!"

....

When they arrived at the main hall, the place was already buzzing with a wild, electric energy. Music and loud laughter was coming out from the double doors, and a some of the new recruits was being dragged inside by senior and junior officers who were eager to initiate them.

West’s eyes scanned the crowded room, instantly and stopped on a long wooden table that was stacked with casks of sweet-frost mead. Two burly recruits were standing in a fierce arm-wrestling match there with their hands gripping each other on the table in a test of strength.

"I will catch up with you guys later," West said before happily moving toward the table.

"Okay guys, I will be on the same table as West," Evan said and followed right behind West.

"Lyra and I will be at that table over there." Niya pointed toward another table at corner of the hall

Lyra turned quickly to Nymeria. "Even if you want to drink alcohol, it should be a little since you are not fully cleared by the healer yet."

Niya grabbed Lyra’s arm and dragged her away into the crowd. Nymeria muttered under her breath, "And I officially have a second mum."

Nyx let out a soft yawn as she adjusted the collar of her jacket. "I think I am going to go have a drink," she said, looking over at Reynold and Nymeria. "Do you want some?"

Reynold shook his head. "No, I am good."

"My second mum just said no."

Nyx let out a faint, dry smile. "Yeah, you shouldn’t." With that, she turned and slipped into the crowd to join the others.

Reynold let out a slow breath as he shifted his eyes at Nymeria’s face.

"Do you want to get out of here?" he suddenly asked.

Before Nymeria could answer, the wooden doors was swung open with a bang. A red-haired junior officer walked in, followed by two of his friends.

When his eyes landed on Nymeria, his face turned into an ugly frown. He marched straight over to them.

"What the fuck are you doing here?" the boy yelled with his glare fixed on her. "Did I not make it clear that you are not welcome here?"

"Look.."

Nymeria started to explain but Reynold cut her off. He stepped firmly between the boy and Nymeria, his eyes looking directly at the junior officer. "You need to fuck off."

The red-haired boy sudeenly raised his voice, as he shouted over the room. "No, she is the one who needs to fuck off!" He pointed his finger right at Nymeria, then turned to face the crowd.

He slammed his hand against a nearby wooden table with a loud bang to draw the attention of people in the hall.

"Why is she allowed to be here and walk around freely when the rest of the mind-users are locked up in the Enclave," he shouted, his face turning red.

His words instantly turned the crowd into a loud, murmuring ground.

People started whispering.

"Wait, is that really the daughter of the Viceroy of the North?"

"Kessel has a point, why is a mind-user walking around free while her kind are locked up?"

"The high born always getting special treatment."

"If the others are locked in the enclave, then she belongs there too."

The junior officer, Kessel turned back to Nymeria and Reynold with a proud, smirk plastered on his face.

"See that? You do not belong here."

Before anyone else could react, West burst through the crowd from the mead table and shoved Kessel hard in the chest. "Dude, you really need to back off now."

Kessel was not having it. He shoved West right back and landed a punch straight on West’s nose.

West fell backwards as he gasped. His hand was already going to his nose.

Seeing West nose bleeding, Reynold grabbed Kessel by the collar and drove his fist straight in to the boy’s face.
