Chapter 89: Chapter 89: Predestined Arrow

The next day, the five members of the Godslayer Guild arrived early at their headquarters. Compared to yesterday, they were noticeably more confident. It was obvious they had done their homework the night before.

"Since everyone is here, let’s head out." Signaling the other four to gather around him, Yu Zhun took out a Teleportation Artifact and activated it.

A burst of light enveloped him and his companions. In the next instant, the entire Godslayer Guild vanished from the room. After a dizzying whirl, they found themselves standing in a dense jungle.

A large clearing had been carved out of the wilderness, currently bustling with figures. Every player present looked like a seasoned elite. Some sat casually on fresh tree stumps while others rested directly on the ground. Gathered in their respective raid teams, they summarized the issues from their previous runs and strategized for their next attempts. Tall guild flags were planted throughout the clearing, bearing insignias of four or five stars. Only Four-Star and Five-Star Guilds were present. Yu Zhun had never seen such a lively, intense scene before.

In the very center of the clearing stood a crimson gate that exuded an ominous aura, looking as though it led to another world. It was the entrance to the Red Moon Tide Dungeon. Above the gate hovered a glowing red countdown:

[46:34:11]

There were only a little over forty hours left before the Red Moon Tide Dungeon disappeared completely.

Flanking the entrance were two men in Divine Revelation Hall uniforms. Their imposing presence made it clear that they were no ordinary staff members, but true powerhouses of the Divine Revelation Hall. Only experts of their caliber could keep the major guilds in check and maintain order during a special dungeon raid.

"Sa, did you prepare our guild flag?" Yu Zhun asked, turning around after leading his members to a quiet corner of the clearing.

"Leave it to me." Salas reached back and whipped out a blood-red guild flag, its color scheme perfectly matching the ominous name of the Godslayer Guild. The word "Godslayer" was written across it in bold, domineering strokes, with a two-star insignia beneath it representing their Two-Star Guild status.

"Good." Yu Zhun took the flag and firmly planted it into the ground.

BOOM!

A pillar of blood-red light shot into the sky, instantly drawing the attention of everyone in the clearing. Yu Zhun and the other three members stared silently at Salas.

Salas shrank his neck. "Is the special effect... not flashy enough?"

"It’s too flashy!" Yu Zhun gritted his teeth.

He had specifically chosen an empty corner to keep a low profile. He never expected to be backstabbed by his own guildmate! He could already feel the stunned and disdainful gazes of countless players around them as they noticed the two stars on the Godslayer Guild’s flag. When it came to raiding special dungeons, even Three-Star Guilds rarely qualified to join the fray, let alone a measly Two-Star Guild.

And with just these five people? They didn’t even have enough members for a full raid team!

"Forget it. Let’s go speak with the Divine Revelation Hall officials first," Yu Zhun said with a helpless shake of his head, turning to look at the five people behind him.

Wait...

Five people?!

Yu Zhun quickly locked onto an unfamiliar face mixed in with his team.

It was a petite girl with short gray hair, standing less than 1.6 meters tall, holding an exquisitely crafted longbow. The most striking thing about her was her eyes, which resembled bright red garnets.

[Sheila, Lv30]

"Sheila," the girl stated expressionlessly, noticing Yu Zhun’s gaze on her.

The other four guild members also noticed the newcomer beside them, all showing surprised expressions—except for Ji Xiaoyu, whose face darkened.

"I knew it was you!"

"Ji Xiaoyu," the girl called out the rich girl’s name with the same blank expression.

And then... nothing. She said nothing else.

"You must be the archer joining our raid team, right?" Yu Zhun, realizing who she was, turned to Ji Xiaoyu. "Rich Girl, do you know her?"

"Of course I do." Ji Xiaoyu gritted her teeth. "When we were kids, this maniac chased me like a rabid dog for three whole blocks with a toy bow!"

"You were weak." Sheila’s words were concise, her face completely deadpan.

"Do you want me to roast you alive right now?!" Ji Xiaoyu gripped her Magic Staff tightly, glaring fiercely at Sheila, though she only managed to look adorably furious.

Sheila met Ji Xiaoyu’s gaze calmly, and finally, a subtle change appeared in her expression.

It was disdain.

"You can’t."

"Ahhh! Nobody stop me!" Ji Xiaoyu lunged forward with her Magic Staff, ready to fight to the death, but Su Yue quickly grabbed her and held her back.

"Alright, alright." Yu Zhun looked at Sheila, not knowing whether to laugh or cry. "I heard you have an SS-grade Talent. Do you mind explaining its exact effects?"

Sheila didn’t say a word; she merely looked at Ji Xiaoyu.

"It’s the SS-grade Talent, Predestined Arrow," Ji Xiaoyu scoffed reluctantly. "It enhances her eyesight to the absolute limit, ignores attack distance restrictions, guarantees a hit on any target within her line of sight, and completely ignores the target’s Physical Defense."

Hearing this, the others looked at Sheila with newfound awe. Whether for Mages or archers, attack range was always limited. Archers naturally had a longer range, with Mages coming in second. Any attack that exceeded its designated range would simply dissipate, dealing zero damage.

But Sheila’s Talent allowed her to bypass this rule entirely.

Pushing her eyesight to the absolute limit... guaranteeing a hit on anything she could see... Coupled with the equally overpowered ability to ignore Physical Defense, such a Talent was overwhelmingly powerful for an archer.

As for a direct damage multiplier, that was secondary. Unlike Mages, who relied on skills for damage and had to wait for cooldowns, an archer’s primary source of damage came from basic attacks. The only thing that restricted their damage output was Attack Speed. As for their skills, they were mainly used for buffs and utility.

"Impressive." Yu Zhun gave Sheila a thumbs-up. "Do you have any thoughts on the Red Moon Tide Dungeon?"

"I’ll listen to you," Sheila replied blankly.

Listen to him? Did that mean she was entirely willing to follow his orders?

Yu Zhun looked at her in surprise, then nodded thoughtfully. "Rest assured, I will give it my all during this raid."

"Since everyone is here, let’s go see the Divine Revelation Hall officials." Yu Zhun looked toward the two powerhouses guarding the entrance. He wondered if Zhu Zhe had already given them a heads-up.

The group of six quickly walked forward. Ji Xiaoyu thought for a moment, deliberately falling a few steps behind, and stealthily tugged at Sheila’s sleeve.

"Did your grandfather send you?"

She was the only one who knew that the girl in front of her, who was half a head shorter than her, was far more than just a player with an SS-grade Talent. Like her own grandfather, Sheila’s grandfather was one of the nine Strongest on the Blue Star.

He was Palicoen, the Arrow of the End—a Level 76 Divine Revelation player and the possessor of the 4th Talent, Half-Life Extinction.

Sheila tilted her head and glanced at Ji Xiaoyu.

"Take a guess."

Watching Sheila stride away, Ji Xiaoyu clenched her fists in annoyance!
