Chapter 465: Chapter 143: Mother and Son Unite, Invincible
Carl froze, then an intense will to live blazed in his eyes.
Without a moment’s hesitation, he screeched toward the sky, "Lynch! Dad! Save me! Save me!! Dad, save me!!"
As long as he could live, he wouldn’t just call him Dad—he’d accept Lynch as his actual father without a shred of hesitation.
The words had barely left his mouth.
A woman’s voice, cool and tinged with disgust, drifted down from the sky.
"Lynch, you brat. If you dare claim another son, don’t blame me for getting rough."
The voice, of course, belonged to the Moon Priestess.
It was no wonder she was displeased.
Ever since that brat Lynch had shamelessly adopted her as his mother, she’d felt awkward at first, but over time, she had gradually grown used to the role and even come to accept it.
But she had just gotten a good look at what kind of person Carl was. If he were to become her grandson, wouldn’t she be disgusted to death?
Compared to the well-behaved, sensible, and exceptionally clever little Dragon Flame, this pathetic, whimpering Carl was a hundred times worse, if not more.
Lynch didn’t dare to say a word, only chuckling sheepishly. ’Looks like I can’t be making jokes like that anymore.’
As they spoke.
A silver figure gracefully appeared in the sky.
It was a female Elf dressed in the long, moon-white robes of a priestess.
She was barefoot, hovering in mid-air. Her voluminous robes swayed in the wind, the silver runes embroidered on the hem glowing in the moonlight. Her entire body was shrouded in a faint lunar radiance, making her look like a Moon Palace Fairy gracing the mortal world—cool, aloof, and sacred.
In her hand, she held a Moonlight Scepter topped with a fist-sized Moonstone that radiated a gentle yet undeniable silver light.
She, of course, was the Moon Priestess of the Ancient Elves—Elune’s Song: Seren Hill.
She shot the pathetic Carl a disgusted glance, then lightly raised her Moonlight Scepter. The Moonstone at its tip suddenly erupted in a blinding silver light.
"Moonlight: Sky-Sever."
Her cool voice rang out.
In the next instant, a massive silver crescent blade materialized from thin air. It then shot forward at a speed the naked eye could barely follow, slashing like lightning at the tentacle coiled around Carl.
SHLIIICK!
With a sickening ripping sound, the thick tentacle was severed instantly, and black blood gushed down like a waterfall.
Freed from the tentacle, Carl plummeted to the ground. He didn’t even know when the ropes binding his hands and feet had snapped.
With no time to think, he scrambled behind the nearest cover, his entire body shaking like a leaf.
Everyone present was left utterly dumbfounded by the sight.
’Who... who is this person? How is she so powerful? She severed a tentacle from the Thousand-Tentacle Lord’s projection with a single blow?’
This was especially true for Shivana Windrunner, who had been secretly and curiously waiting to see what trick Lynch had up his sleeve for the Thousand-Tentacle Lord’s projection. Now, her beautiful Elven eyes looked ready to pop out of their sockets.
She stared intently at the moon-white figure, sensing the ancient and noble aura emanating from her. A storm of shock raged within her.
’Wait, is... is that... an Ancient High Elf!?’
’There’s no mistake. That’s definitely an Ancient Elf.’
’And it seems to be just a projection.’
’As everyone knows, a projection is far weaker than its original body.’
’But for this one to be so powerful as a mere projection... combined with those moon-white priestess robes, the Moonlight Scepter, that cool, noble aura...’
’These characteristics were just too iconic.’
In an instant, Shivana Windrunner recalled a legendary figure who existed only in the historical texts of the Ancient Elves—the favored of the Moon Goddess, the Moon Priestess at the peak of the Legend rank, Elune’s Song: Seren Hill!
"It’s... it’s really her..." Shivana felt her entire body go numb. Her mind went blank, and she forgot to breathe.
’Lynch’s trump card was the Moon Priestess!?’
’How is that possible!?’
’Wasn’t she supposed to have perished long ago in the War of the Ancients?’
’How... How could she be Lynch’s trump card!?’
For a moment, Shivana’s chest heaved violently, the movement so intense it nearly crushed the little Squirrel Skeleton hidden within.
Lynch felt the world spin, as if he were about to be swallowed by surging waves. He was so startled that he hastily severed his mental link with the Squirrel Skeleton.
’If this kept up, he was afraid he’d become malnourished...’
The two main villains on the field had an even more dramatic reaction.
At the sight of Elune’s Song, the countless eyeballs on the Abyssal Priest Su Moyi’s face all contracted in unison. A look of horrified disbelief spread across her grotesque face. "The M-Moon Priestess? Impossible! Aren’t the Ancient Elves extinct!?"
But then her gaze fell on the raging projection of the Thousand-Tentacle Lord, and she regained her composure. The fanaticism returned to her countless eyes. "However... even the Moon Priestess is not necessarily a match for the great Thousand-Tentacle Lord."
Frost Throat Hosen’s pupils contracted slightly, and his voice suddenly grew deep and grave. "A projection at the peak of the Legend rank..."
ROAR!!!!
Just then, the Thousand-Tentacle Lord’s projection finally reacted, letting out a deafening, furious roar.
The searing pain of its severed limb sent it into a frenzy. Its hundred-meter-tall body writhed madly. The severed tentacle regenerated in an instant, and dozens of thick tentacles whipped toward the Moon Priestess like a raging storm.
