Chapter 451: Chapter 141: So Which Junior Is Lynch’s Favorite?

The smiles on the faces of the Silver Moon Academy masters didn’t last long. They gradually faded as one Hurst student after another shot up the rankings.

In their place, brilliant smiles reappeared on the faces of the Hurst Academy masters.

"Haha! Good, very good!" Master Lianna was grinning from ear to ear. "Look at that! Now this is the true strength of Hurst Academy!"

Soon, the smiles on the Silver Moon Academy masters’ faces completely vanished.

Because among the top ten, aside from Ailendra Moon Language who still held first place with her twenty-eight thousand points, the rest of the Silver Moon Academy students—including Grims, Natalie, and Frost Fang—had all been pushed out of the top ten, some even past the top twenty.

Those Hurst examinees were simply beasts. Even a lower-grade student like Charlotte had shot up to sixth place on the overall leaderboard, overpowering several upperclassmen.

"Charlotte Aiselle, total points over twelve thousand, ranked sixth."

It was also possible to check points and rankings inside the scoring station. A student from Silver Moon Academy noticed Charlotte, who was dressed like a lower-grade student, and immediately asked an assistant teacher to look her up out of curiosity.

When the assistant announced Charlotte’s score and rank, the faces of the Silver Moon Academy students instantly darkened.

They had actually been crushed by a lower-grade student.

The only thing they could be thankful for was that Ailendra Moon Language was still holding the number one spot on the overall leaderboard.

But Ailendra herself felt a cold sweat form on her palms, and the ominous feeling in her heart grew stronger and stronger.

Just then, Lynch, Avril, and the others who had been lagging behind also walked into the scoring station.

As he passed Ailendra, Lynch gave her a gentle nod, which counted as a greeting.

Then, under everyone’s watchful eyes, the group walked up to the counter used for tallying points.

And when the assistant teachers in charge of tabulation saw Lynch and his group, their expressions were quite complicated.

Most of them were graduates of the three major academies who had chosen to stay and work for their schools after graduation, eventually being promoted to assistant teachers.

Therefore, they had all taken the graduation exam before.

However, not a single one of the assistant teachers present had ever seen a graduation exam this exciting, with such terrifying results.

’Back in our day, the top examinee of our graduating class could dominate the entire field and become a Legend just by hunting a single Tier Three mission target.’

’It was nothing like now, where Tier Three ears were practically a dime a dozen, and only a Tier Four kill was worthy of any gasps of surprise.’

"Next," an assistant teacher cleared his throat, trying to appear calm.

Ophelia was the first to step forward to turn in her items.

She was covered in blood, and several deep claw marks were gouged into her leather armor, a clear sign she had been injured. Yet, her spirit was high, and a sharp, lingering killing intent still remained in her eyes.

She threw a bundle onto the table with a THUD. "Three Tier Three, ten Tier Two, and... one Tier Four."

As she spoke, she took out a particularly large right ear belonging to a Tier Four Gnoll Chieftain.

The ear was a full two sizes larger than a Tier Three’s, and a terrifying Evil Qi still clung to it.

The scene erupted into another uproar.

But as she presented the Tier Four ear, Ophelia looked a little embarrassed. "Um... We only managed to kill this as a team, with the help of an upperclassman. I don’t know if it can count toward my points?"

The assistant teacher paused for a moment, exchanged a look with his colleagues, and then said seriously, "We only count the mission items turned in. We don’t care how they were obtained. Strictly speaking, the Tier Four ear Ailendra Moon Language turned in wasn’t a solo kill either. It was the result of her entire team’s efforts; she was just the one to turn it in."

"That’s good to hear." Ophelia breathed a sigh of relief and gave a small smile.

As the assistant teacher entered the data into the Magic Array, Ophelia’s total score shot past fifty thousand points.

Inside the central tent, the leaderboard once again erupted in a brilliant golden light.

The name "Ophelia Lier" shot up to first place, its color changing to a striking pale gold. Ailendra, with her twenty-eight thousand-plus points, was kicked down to second, her name changing from pale gold to silver.

Lynch, with an even twenty thousand points, was pushed into third, his name turning to bronze.

In that instant, the expressions on the faces of both masters and students froze.

They had originally thought the next scene would be Lynch pulling out a Tier Four mission item and crushing Ailendra with forty thousand points. They never expected it would be Ophelia.

And her total score of over fifty thousand gave her an almost cliff-like lead over Ailendra.

Inside the central tent, all the masters from the three academies were shocked, but also a little confused.

’What on earth is that Lynch playing at, giving the Tier Four spoils to Ophelia to turn in...’

’Does he think he’s been in the spotlight too much and decided to keep a lower profile?’

The Warrior master from Hurst Academy, however, was overcome with surprise and excitement, nearly leaping out of his chair.

"Yes! Well done, Ophelia!" the Warrior master exclaimed, his face flushed with excitement.

’I can’t believe it’s our Ophelia who took the top spot. This is extremely rare in the history of the Warrior Series.’

’After all, in past years, the ones who took first place were either from the Elemental System or were Holy Knights...’

He secretly glanced at Master Lianna, whose expression wasn’t looking too good, and felt a surge of smugness.
