Unlike maternity clothes, newborn outfits were cute and soft to the touch. Jiang Li loved every single one and couldn’t put them down.

"For newborns, they usually wear a size 52. Since it’s hot out now, three or four sets should be enough. Besides, newborns grow so quickly, you don’t need to buy too many size 52 outfits."

Jiang Li nodded and pointed casually. "Then let’s start with ten sets."

’If she bought too few,’ she worried, ’they might not have enough.’

Shen Yanzhi frowned slightly. "Won’t ten sets be too few?"

Jiang Li turned to look at Shen Yanzhi. "Then how many do you think we need?"

"I think we should get twenty sets," Shen Yanzhi said.

’He had a feeling Jiang Li was carrying a girl.’

’How could ten outfits possibly be enough for their sweet, soft little princess to change into?’

Jiang Li nodded and snapped her fingers. "Alright, twenty sets it is."

The sales associate tried to talk them down. "Twenty sets is really too many. The baby might grow into a size 59 before they get a chance to wear them all."

Jiang Li waved her hand unconcernedly. "It’s fine. We’ll go at our own pace."

’Twenty sets wasn’t two hundred. At four outfits a day, they’d get through them all in five days.’

The sales associate didn’t insist. After all, it was all commission for her. Since Jiang Li and her husband were willing to buy, what reason did she have to talk them out of it?

"Okay, sir, ma’am. Please wait a moment. I’ll go get a shopping cart."

There was just too much stuff; without a cart, it would be difficult to carry.

She strode quickly to the entrance and returned with a cart.

She confirmed again, "Do you want all of them in such bright colors?"

’Looks like they both want a daughter,’ she thought. ’They’re all pink, red, and yellow clothes.’

Jiang Li nodded with a hum of confirmation. Only then did the sales associate begin gathering all the clothes Jiang Li had pointed out and placing them in the cart.

"And those hats, socks, and swaddling blankets you mentioned earlier—give us ten sets of those, too."

The sales associate smiled sweetly. "Of course, ma’am."

"Besides clothes and accessories, there are also bath products, face wipes, butt wipes, diapers, baby bottles..."

Before the sales associate could finish, Jiang Li’s head was already spinning.

The corner of Jiang Li’s mouth twitched. "Um, no matter how you look at it, that’s a dress for a toddler, right? Ours hasn’t even been born yet."

’Although she also wanted to buy tons of pretty clothes for the little one in her belly, she was still more rational than Shen Yanzhi, understanding they should buy clothes appropriate for each stage.’

Shen Yanzhi pursed his lips. "Fine. We’ll just wait until our daughter is older and bring her here to buy it then."

Jiang Li raised an eyebrow. "You’re that sure it’s a girl?"

Shen Yanzhi nodded. Jiang Li pressed, "And what if it’s a boy, not a girl?"

Shen Yanzhi’s face fell instantly. "If it’s a boy, we’ll just let him wear other people’s hand-me-downs."

"That’s such a double standard!"

Shen Yanzhi spread his hands helplessly. "Can’t be helped. What can I say? I’m a total sucker for my daughter."

’He couldn’t even imagine how devastated he’d be if Jiang Li actually had a son.’

Jiang Li raised an eyebrow. "Well, if you’re going to say that, now I’m suddenly hoping it’s a boy."

Before Shen Yanzhi could ask why, Jiang Li continued, "Because if it’s a boy, he can dote on me along with you."

Shen Yanzhi said, earnest and sincere, "If it’s a girl, she and I can dote on you together, too."
