Chapter 710: Ash Vs Absolutes (2)
"Your powers really are absolute, huh?"
The only reason Ash had taken any damage was because he wanted to test the mechanics behind the Primediva’s abilities.
From what he could see, there were no ranks, no set hierarchy—nothing at all.
Everything was determined purely by the powers a being possessed and how many they had.
Aside from the fact that there were five ruling branches in the faction, everyone was more or less equal here.
Still, it was obvious that if Ash—or anyone, for that matter—was actually touched by their power, it would cause real damage.
That is, of course, if they could even touch them.
--
The swarm pressed on without pause, a roaring tide of Primedivas surging forward with killing intent.
But before the next wave could close in, Ash moved.
He had redefined himself in that instant using Divine Absolute Imperfection, becoming something fundamentally beyond what any attack could touch.
The world around him seemed to lag as he flowed through the chaos like a ghost.
SWWOOOOSH!!!
A colossal warhammer swing from a stone-skinned brute whistled past—missing by a hair.
Twin shadow blades slashed where his throat had been.... cutting only empty air. While blazing orbs and rattling chains whipped through the space, he had occupied fractions of a second earlier.
In this moment, nothing touched him... and it literally couldn’t. The state of divine absolute imperfection was simply so absurd.
With just a thought... Ash could become or be anything he wanted.
Smiling wider now, Ash activated another power.
[External Conversion]
As mentioned, his presence here wasn’t just for sightseeing—it was entirely for the sake of his future novel and Pantheos itself.
As always, he had no intention of letting his characters, Nullen or his grandson, have an easy time of things.
He wanted Pantheos to be riddled with anomalies.
’The more overpowered my inhabitants become... the more I do,’ he thought with a gleeful smile, though he was eagerly anticipating the day someone might rise to challenge and shatter his carefully constructed system of power.
Only so he could crush them in turn.... and become even stronger in ways even he hadn’t thought of.
In the meantime, his focus was on stripping away these absolute powers and scattering them across Pantheos in random layers.
And so, the slaughter began in earnest.
A brawny man with long blonde hair and a grin too wide for his own good unleashed his full power.
HUMMMMMM!!!!
[Chicago Smash]
Instantly crimson mana crackled across his limbs—launched a devastating punch.
BOOOOM!
However, Ash slipped aside effortlessly, the raw power converting in mid-motion into a shimmering Divine Codex entry.
He flicked his wrist and sent an amplified version screaming back.
BOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!
In that moment as Ash turned his attention elsewhere, a phantom version of himself appeared before the man punching out.
[Pantheos Smash]
The Primediva’s own attack bounced back, magnified, tearing him and three of his allies into a cloud of red mist.
Another Primediva conjured one spiraling orb of destructive mana after another, each howling through the air toward Ash.
WHOOSH!!!!
WHOOSH!
Seeing this Ash simply danced between them, converting each one on contact.
BOOOOOOM!!!!
BOOOOOOM!!!!!
The returned orbs, now laced with divinity and power to destroy entire creations.... slammed into the crowd—turning a cluster of attackers into expanding spheres of light and ash.
Their screams cut short as the blasts chained, making former comrades kill one another in a beautiful cascade of friendly fire.
"You guys really have no originality!" Ash said with a laugh seeing all these attacks there were literally imitations of anime he’d watched before.
----
Across the arena, Primordia was a whirlwind of elegant violence.
Her long red-and-lavender hair whipped behind her as she flowed through the enemy ranks.
SHKKKKK!!!!!!!
In a flash, her right arm transformed into her original black-and-red katana form, the blade singing through the air with lethal precision.... slicing through three Primedivas in a single arc.
Their essence, blood and absolute power dwindled wildly as bodies fell.
"!!"
Sensing an incoming attack, she dodged instantly by shrinking into a near-invisible form, smaller than a speck of dust, slipping through a barrage of flaming arrows and conceptual powers.
SHK!!!!!!
Moments later she reappeared behind her attackers—her katana arm flashing as she beheaded two in quick succession, their heads tumbling away with expressions of frozen shock.
She spun again, limbs shifting fluidly between weapon and flesh, carving a path of absolute destruction that left only silence and fallen bodies in her wake.
And just like that, in barely a minute or two, the fight club had turned into a graveyard.
HUMMMMM!!!!!!
Then, without warning, the skies above burst into a storm of overwhelming power.
An Ancestor of the faction materialized high overhead, his ancient features twisted in utter shock and fear.
Below him stretched a scene that should have been impossible: an arena carpeted with the dead bodies of Primedivas—beings who were never meant to truly die—while Ash and Primordia now stood side by side in the center, casually chatting amid the carnage.
However, before the Ancestor could even open his mouth to alert the rest of the faction, Primordia warped and stretched with instantaneous speed.
In an instant she transformed into a long, black-and-red chain that shot skyward like a striking serpent.
WHOOOOOSHHHH!!!
SHKKKKK!!!!!!
Ash laughed, voice booming with mocking delight as he grabbed the end of the chain.
"Haha.... Get over... here!" he shouted, perfectly mimicking Scorpion from Mortal Kombat.
With a powerful yank, he pulled the horrified Ancestor hurtling down through the air—straight into a devastating punch.
BOOOOOOOOMMMM!!!!!
The Ancestor’s head exploded in a burst of essence and light, the rest of his body crumpling lifelessly to the bloodied arena floor.
Ash released the chain with a satisfied grin as Primordia reformed beside him, her flowing hair settling gently around her shoulders.
"Master... that was not bad for our first date, huh?"
Ash shook his head with an amused chuckle as the two of them lifted off the blood-soaked arena floor, rising smoothly into the vibrant red sky.
The four suns and phased moons cast their mixed light across the floating town below, where distant alarms were only now beginning to echo.
"What do you mean, ’first date’?" he asked, glancing sideways at her while they ascended higher, the wind whipping lightly through his black-and-white streaked hair.
Primordia floated gracefully beside him, a playful smile curving her lips.
She raised one slim hand and began counting on her fingers with exaggerated care.
"Let’s see... you have nearly a million women across your harem, Master. Yet right now, in this moment, I’m the only one here by your side." She tilted her head, eyes sparkling with mischief.
"Doesn’t that make this a date?"
Ash let out a genuine laugh, the sound rich and warm as it carried across the open sky.
"Touché."
