Chapter 386: Lucy Ravelle

Chapter 386: Lucy Ravelle

While the Horrors grappled with the sudden news, high above on the 99th Heaven of the Mars Plane lay the main domain of the Eternal Sins, sprawling majestically across the loftiest heaven.

The terrain was an ever-shifting expanse of black marble, its agriculture cultivated solely from essences that enhanced their strength.

Rivers of liquid pride flowed uphill into vast reservoirs of greed, while forests of envy bore thorned branches that wept tears.

Mountains of wrath smoldered with unending fire, descending inexorably toward the realms of lust.

At the very heart of this realm stood the Sin Tower, its surface alive with seven primal colors shifting in endless, dizzying patterns, housing the most influential of the Sins.

Above even this imposing structure, suspended within a private realm of her own design, floated Lucy.

She floated naked above an endless ocean of sins.

Pride foamed white at the crests, wrath boiled red below, lust shimmered in pink, greed glittered green, envy burned purple, gluttony throbbed black, and despair rolled in slow, heavy gray tides.

The ocean never stilled, its every essence born from the sacrifices of the Ancestors of Sin. They hadn’t fallen in battle, but ended their own lives, believing Lucy would usher in a reign unlike any other.

She sat cross-legged, letting the essence flow into her as she cultivated her Strata.

Though it might seem like something that demanded immense focus, to her it was effortless. Sins resonated with her the way mana did with other cultivators.

With each breath, her Strata sharpened, carrying her past the Peak of Ascendant.

This was the kind of growth that rendered every sacrifice worthwhile—the ocean was not merely a reservoir of power to her.

No, it was composed entirely of sins, and Lucy herself was the embodiment of sin.

For centuries, it had existed for her alone; she had been steadily advancing, as though each sin was simply making its way back to its rightful place.

After an indeterminate expanse of time—hours, months, and then a full millennium—she released a single, measured breath.

[A/N: This is not a time skip for the outside world; she resides in a special realm… Using a special gift.]

When her eyes opened once more, she had ascended to the pinnacle of the Hyperversal rank. To clarify, for most individuals, even ten thousand years would be far from sufficient to attain such a level.

From Peak Transcendent to Peak Hyperversal…. that mean she scaled five major ranks in no time.

Once again, it all came back to the redundancy of the power system used by the inhabitants of the Organisms.

And, of course, to who she truly was.

As mentioned before; after reaching the Ascendent rank, one only needed to cultivate their Strata—essentially higher forms of Stellar Laws and Precepts.

Beyond that, they also had to steadily learn trans-concepts. Both of these required immense comprehensions, as Strata reflected a person’s dimensional prowess.

This was why ordinary cultivators were permitted to access the higher layers—it was their way of breaking the ’chains’ of reality, letting them act in line with their true existence.

For Lucy, ever since leaving the Masque, everything had been almost effortless; she didn’t even need to grasp or understand anything.

More than that, a certain man had ensured her growth was rapid and strong—a man who had never once left her thoughts.

For just a heartbeat, seven colors shimmered in her eyes before going back to the usual red.

She gazed straight ahead, lost and far away, as if her sight pierced through the ocean, the tower, and the whole 99th Heaven.

Without warning, a memory rose to the surface.

—–

Back when she thought she had bested Ash, trapping him in his own Karmic Tribulation…. this was when she fell for the man himself in ways she couldn’t imagine…..

And also seen that it was a much bigger monster roaming around existence. One bigger and more ancient that anyone could ever imagine.

[A/N: Until the next Chapter break this scene will be what happened after she sat down with Ash.]

The moment she appeared in the realm in which Ash was undergoing his tribulation.

She froze… because the sight before her was downright ridiculous. There she saw Ash, casually sitting in a lounging chair eating fruit while watching his lives like a movie.

Then before she knew it, she found herself seated right next to the man… in a similar lounging chair.

Ash glanced over, chuckled, and tilted the bowl toward her.

“Have some?” he asked casually, offering her a piece of fruit.

Lucy stared at him, then at the bowl, then back at him. In this moment she didn’t know what to think… and seeing him completely make her powers useless.

She took the fruit slowly…

Ash popped another piece into his mouth and leaned back, eyes fixed on the screen.

“Just sit back and enjoy the show,” he said. “It’ll answer more questions than you expect.”

The projection shifted.

Layer by layer, life by life, the scenes unfolded in reverse.

Each existence flashed by in rapid, vivid bursts: him as mighty powerhouses, roaming beasts, valiant heroes, thoughtful scholars, ruthless tyrants, and gentle healers.

The sheer scope was dizzying — trillions upon trillions of years condensed into mere moments.

Through it all, Lucy watched in stunned silence, unable to tear her eyes away.

Every version of him resisted the sins she wore like a second skin.

No, that wasn’t quite it. It was more as if he embodied those sins in their purest form. In the lives where he was ’evil,’ his wrath burned hotter than any sin could ever dream.

When he indulged in a life of desire…. well, it was clear just how much passion he could display.

“How…?” she whispered, barely audible.

Ash shot her a glance, eyes sparkling with amusement.

“Just keep watching, oh Herald~”

The visions finally began to slow.

As one particular incarnation caught her attention.

In this life, Ash lived a double life — a saint in the daylight and a lethal assassin after dark.

In the daylight, he was someone else entirely—helping those in need, almost as if another soul guided his steps.

But when darkness fell, he didn’t care who someone was, what they’d done, or their status; if they were outside, they were as good as gone.

In that moment, Lucy’s heart nearly stopped, because unlike many of Ash’s other incarnations, this one had lasted far longer than most.

It was brief compared to the main four, but for half a cycle—five hundred billion years—she had truly watched him destroy civilizations and universes, while also healing and bringing countless others to prominence.

“How can someone be so… sinful for so long and never give in?” she wondered, even though she herself was over 50 trillion years old.

Most of her existence had been spent sealed away on Earth, and not just that—what kind of cultivator could keep killing for so long?

Eventually, anyone would tire of it, turning their focus solely to power and only striking when boundaries were crossed.

Yet, she watched this man kill without reason, and as she did, another seamless shift unfolded before her eyes.
