Chapter 385: The Herald of Sins - The Horrors Meet

Chapter 385: The Herald of Sins – The Horrors Meet

A month had passed since Nia and Vaeloria returned to Ash, and since Aurora and the others set out to complete their missions, which they accomplished without trouble.

Now that Isis was also a Goddess, she and Aurora were like twins of pure destruction.

The group now stood once more outside the Vault of Paid Truths.

The massive iron gates of the entrance hissed open the instant they approached.

Aurora led the way as Isis walked beside her, while Xeros and his wives fell behind them. All of the items were in Aurora’s possession within the Sacred Dimension.

“I can’t believe you guys really did have four Abyssal Missions from this place.” Xeros muttered as they stepped inside.

“Elder Brother, why would we lie?” Aurora asked as the hooded figure was already waiting — seated behind the same low table.

Xeros stayed silent, knowing that nothing Aurora had said so far was untrue.

Without a word, she waved her hand, and all four items appeared.

Each was contained in cubes similar to the Hollow Prince’s, since Aurora wasn’t sure what hidden meanings, the figure might have had in the way he described the missions.

Considering that the Heart of the Hollow Prince was literally him in the flesh, she simply sealed the other items exactly as she had found them.

The figure regarded them in silence for a long moment. For the first time, a faint shiver of genuine surprise rippled through its hooded frame.

“…You actually pulled it off,” it murmured, “And in just a month, no less…”

It leaned forward slightly, long fingers lacing together beneath the cowl.

“Tsk… I expected a few more existences to make it into the vault.”

No one replied, nor so much as blinked. Especially Aurora, who was moving with a pressing urgency….

The figure exhaled — the sound like dry leaves skimming over stone.

“Very well.”

It lifted one hand.

In that moment, four scrolls shimmered into being above the table, unfurling in mid-air. Lines of golden script flared across the parchment, each growing brighter as it appeared.

The figure’s voice dropped lower as it spoke.

“You have paid the price… and the vault always honor its debts.”

It gestured toward the scrolls.

“Everything you asked for is now yours—”

Aurora stepped forward, golden eyes calm.

“You can keep the other things,” she said quietly. “We only need information on Lucy and the Eternal Sins whereabouts… And their situation.”

The figure nodded once and without asking any questions, it simply removed on of the scrolls as it spoke, translating the script through common conversation.

“Lucy, the Herald of Sins. Standing at the Peak of the Transcendent rank… but that’s a mere joke to her true power.” It said, “She stands as something akin to the scion of the Eternal Sins… before she disappeared for Cycles, she had promise in rising up to our Middle Dimension.”

It then continued giving them the run down. Apparently, Lucy had a reputation stemming from the Lower Dimension of the Maw up to the Mars Plane.

However, as a mere Transcendent, it went without saying she had to be special.

Which she was by far, compared to any other sin. She embodied all seven sins perfectly… while Eternal sins at most had two.

In this event, she had begun being prepared to become the leader of all sins. As she would be the Herald of Sins across all dimensions.

Yet, that was obviously cut short. Now, she had been in the Middle Dimension for quite some time since returning from missing.

It then paused again, before speaking.

“There is a war brewing beneath the surface of the Middle Dimension. Now, that the Herald as returned… They seek to reclaim all their previous glory while putting their plan into motion.”

The figure’s gaze swept over the group.

“The current rulers of the Middle Dimension are the Dark Phoenixes… Both of their main clans are on the 99th Heaven. You should find the Herald there as well; she should be undergoing special training.”

[A/N: I know she shouldn’t be so high in Heavens but considering her background. It goes without saying she was brought up through other means.]

Aurora and the others nodded taking all this information in before they left. As they exited, Isis spoke.

“Well, let’s go save my mother from those damned sins.”

—–

In a place that was not in any of the Organisms, but in a weird land that existed between them all.

It was not True Reality, the place where the Organisms slept, but somewhere similar to the Null Firmament.

Except this place only held one faction, and that was the 200 Existential Horrors.

The chamber was vast yet claustrophobic, as a dome of pure black that swallowed every trace of light.

There were no walls, ceiling, or floor—only an endless void where one hundred ninety-seven beings sat in a flawless circle.

They were little more than hazy silhouettes, cloaked in shifting script, their faces hidden beneath hoods woven from shadow.

Only their tattoos shone—uneven markings of True Reality in shades of purple, black, blue, yellow, and deep gold.

Number 198 appeared at the center without sound or disturbance.

Her tall, dark-skinned form flickered into being, and the circle held its silence.

For a heartbeat, nothing moved—then a voice drifted from the figure directly opposite her.

“You are late…”

198 scoffed as she waved the person off.

“Oh please, I’m the one who called the meeting.”

Another silhouette leaned forward slightly.

“We didn’t meet her for small talk. Tell us why it was so important to come here.”

She rolled her eyes but spoke anyway.

“Recently, in The Third Organism, The Maw… I had a run-in with an interesting being,” she said. “In the Middle Dimension, on the 79th Heaven… a girl with white-blue hair. Her power made my script of True Reality completely useless.”

A ripple passed through the circle — not sound, but a shared wave of disbelief.

Then another Horror spoke out.

“Completely useless?” it repeated, tone dripping with scorn.

“You expect us to believe that? How can any of these ants do something like that?”

A few other silhouettes shifted — subtle, but enough to show agreement.

One with golden tattoos on their face spoke.

“What’s with the pointless bickering. Just show us your memory.”

198’s galaxy like eyes narrowed.

“I have nothing to prove to you. Either you believe it or you won’t. I just thought it would be important to inform you all of such a thing.”

The circle went still again.

Then a voice from the far side cut in — deeper, colder.

“Even if we entertain this fantasy… you still have your existence itself… Your raw strength. Us Horrors do not need the script to erase lesser beings. Did you at least kill her?”

At this notion, number 198 fist clenched.

“No… they escaped”

A collective exhale — half disbelief, half contempt — rippled through the void. Then the voice spoke again.

“Then you are either incompetent… or you truly encountered something we have never seen before.”

Before anyone else could speak, a much quieter, more measured voice spoke.

“This does remind me… Number 199 and 200 have been missing for over a month now.”

All attention went back on Number 198 at this revelation. As the deeper voice spoke again

“Alright… we don’t deal with coincidences in the world of power.”

It paused.

“Either they are also just busy… or someone is messing with our faction.”

“And If everything stated today is true… then we have a problem.”
