Chapter 174: Retribution Begins (2) – A Month As #1

Not even a heartbeat later, the same exact spear reappeared above Lyssandra and the other troops.

All the resentment, rage, and annihilation coalesced into a spear that caused the void to quake—its shaft a twisting column of blood-red light veined with black cracks, tip so sharp it seemed to slice reality itself, trailing a comet-like tail of screaming souls and shattered laws.

This was Lysa’s precept: any blow that harms those she deems under her protection will be reflected double the power. Not just that—anyone who dies under protection, a fraction of their power further enhances the attack, feeding the spear until it grew heavier, brighter, more vicious with every death it avenged.

Seeing the massive spear screaming towards their Universe, the Goliaths panicked. That was the thing… divinations were always right to a certain extent. No one knew that Sandra had two souls in one body… so how could they calculate this fact?

The barrier immediately rematerialized—golden threads of law snapping back into place, runes flaring with desperate brilliance—but before it could stabilize, the spear connected.

BOOOOM!!!!!!

The impact was cataclysmic.

The entire formation exploded into pieces as the runes malfunctioned—golden lines shattering like glass under a hammer, shards of divine energy spraying outward in blinding arcs that tore through space itself.

The void screamed, as the barrier collapsed inward, folding like wet paper before erupting outward in a shockwave of gold and crimson that rippled across light-years.

Millions of Goliath defenders were flung back—armor melting, bodies disintegrating, screams cut short as they were erased from existence in silent flashes.

Seeing this, Sandra smiled—slow, sharp, bloodthirsty.

She summoned twin swords that were so thin the blade could hardly be seen—edges of pure void-black that drank light, handles wrapped in crimson leather that pulsed like veins. The blades hummed with restrained fury, the air around them warping as though reality itself recoiled from their presence.

Then at once—not just Sandra but the Goliaths roared.

“CHARGE!!!!!”

The sound was apocalyptic…. millions of voices overlapping in a single, earth-shattering bellow that shook the void, auras flaring like newborn suns, killing intent so thick it made the stars tremble.

Thus, with that, the first battle between universes had truly begun.

Asuras surged forward—crimson tides crashing against golden walls—blades flashing, fists shattering space, blood and light exploding in endless violent blooms.

The void itself bled—cracks spreading like fractures in glass—while Sandra led the charge, twin swords carving paths of absolute ruin through the enemy ranks, her laughter ringing clear and wild above the chaos.

The message had been sent.

And with that… time continued to pass as the universes continued to move onward.

Back in the Venia Galaxy… more precisely the Conclave of sects. The Domain Hunters had reached a tipping point. For an entire month one sect had stood at the top place since the moment they attained it.

Of course this was the Myriad Sect of Races… With the dominance of Nia, Vaeloria, Seris, Yonna, Sonna, Thalion, Kael, and Caelan the sect’s stronghold became the most devastating yet magnificent structure of all.

It towered like a living fortress of rose-pink void and star-forged stone—walls shimmering with defensive runes that pulsed in rhythm with the defenders’ heartbeats, spires reaching miles into the sky, surrounded by floating rings of treasures and chests that glowed with contained power, waiting to be opened the moment the game ended.

They attained countless treasures and chests all waiting to be opened the moment the game ended. However, with a little over 10,000 sects remaining greed was beginning to sprout. By now it was known, the better the stronghold and higher the rank meant the more loot.

Over the weeks sects watched and plotted together all with their eyes on the ones who shone the brightest. Scouts planned and sought to see whom the biggest threats were. And as multiple sects colluded, they came to know a few things.

The strongest member of the Myriad Sect of Races was in the Seventh Calamity which was not much as he was the only one. However, the strangest thing was that none of the members of the sect could be seen doing anything but defending.

It was only eight people at the fourth calamity rank that tore through domain after domain.

It was an odd spectacle.

But it was also something that could be taken advantage of… which they did.

Eight sects… ranked 2-10 converged at once on the Myriad Sect of Races… on the final day of the game.

And currently outside of the stronghold it looked like an all-out war.

The sky above the fortress was a swirling storm of crimson, gold, and violet as eight individuals fought high above the rest—spread over the battlefield and the stronghold using all sorts of defensive mechanisms.

SHK!

BOOOM!!!!!

Massive barriers of starlight and void clashed…. cracking space with every collision, shockwaves rippling outward that shattered floating islands and sent disciples tumbling through the air.

BOOOOM!!!

Bursts of mana and blood lit the horizon as formations ignited runes bursting in brilliant flashes that burned afterimages into every onlooker’s vision.

The ground trembled beneath 720,000 fighters, each pouring everything they had into claiming the top spot. Shields flared, blades shimmered, and the air rang with an unending chorus of rage, pain, and clashing steel.

The stronghold had held firm against countless assaults, but it was only a matter of time before it fell. That’s when thousands of disciples burst forth to defend it—auras flaring, weapons in hand, streaming from the gates like a crimson tide, diving into the chaos in relentless waves.

Above all the chaos, in one of the eight battles raging across the skies, lightning and blood clashed in a wild frenzy, colliding again with lightning and pure rage.
