Taming the Tyrant Beast Women
Chapter 118: The Awakening of the Hunting Ground
The Awakening of the Hunting Ground
Leon.
That name had become a shadow hanging over the entire examination.
In the Bellemont Province Heavenly-tier hunting ground—
Two proctors—a man and a woman—were rushing toward Leon’s location.
Their expressions were both tense.
"This kid hasn’t sent a distress signal yet! The entire middle zone seems to be stirred up—so many beasts heading his way."
The female proctor frowned.
"Yeah—did they not notice the danger? Their awareness is terrible."
The male proctor glanced at the readings on his device.
"The density is increasing."
"They’re all moving toward one location."
"Leon’s location?"
"Yes."
The woman’s brows knitted together.
"If that many boss-level creatures gather in one place, even strong examinees could get overwhelmed."
The two proctors increased their speed.
They weren’t allowed to interfere unless an examinee faced a genuine life-threatening situation.
But they had to be close enough to react.
The mist grew thicker.
Visibility dropped to only a few dozen meters.
Yet Leon wasn’t relying on his eyes.
He stood quietly in the center of the battlefield.
His purple eyes remained calm.
The roaring beasts were getting closer.
One group from the east.
Another from the north.
More creatures from behind.
The blood in the air was becoming stronger.
Selena slowly raised her hand.
White lightning crawled across her fingers.
Evelyn stood beside her, venomous spiritual energy swirling around her body.
"Leon," Selena said quietly.
"Yes, my love?"
"How many?"
Leon looked into the mist.
"Too many to count normally."
Evelyn swallowed.
"Then what do we do?"
Leon smiled.
"We kill them."
Selena’s golden eyes sharpened.
"Good."
Evelyn took a breath.
"Then I’m staying with you."
Leon glanced at both women.
"Of course you are, darling Evelyn."
He stepped forward.
The ground beneath his boots was already trembling.
Another roar came from the distance.
Then another.
And another.
The entire middle zone seemed to be waking up.
Leon didn’t retreat.
Instead, he closed his eyes for a moment.
His soul detection spread outward.
Ten meters.
Fifty.
A hundred.
Five hundred.
His perception continued expanding.
Every heartbeat.
Every movement.
Every beast.
All of it entered his awareness.
Somewhere in the distance, something enormous let out a roar that made the mist itself tremble.
Leon opened his eyes.
The battlefield was coming.
And he was ready.
In the thick mist—Leon’s soul vision continued to expand.
The shock among the crowd was like a surging tide. Their eyes widened as if trying to see through the young man on the screen.
Principal Lawrence had been beaming just moments ago—like he’d found a treasure. But now, even he couldn’t hide his shock.
His finger trembled as he pointed at the screen, his lips quivering.
"Th-This... is this really Leon?"
The words barely left his mouth before the officials around him started talking over one another.
The education officials were so stunned they nearly jumped. They crowded around, their gazes locked on the figure on the screen.
"Th-This... how is this possible?!"
One official leaned closer to the screen as if the answer might somehow be hiding in the details.
"The last time we were at the Ancient Tree Labyrinth... could that have been him too?"
Another official shook his head repeatedly.
"A D-rank beast-soul master—how could his beast-girl unleash a skill of this magnitude?"
"This is... this defies all logic!"
The more powerful a beast-girl became, the deeper her beastly nature ran.
Power came with a price.
A beast-girl’s instincts became stronger as her rank increased. Her bloodline became more difficult to control, and the pressure placed on her master increased alongside her strength.
Only truly exceptional beast-soul masters could control a powerful beast-girl.
Otherwise, they risked being devoured by their own beast-girls.
Such incidents weren’t unheard of.
In the Great Dawn Dynasty, there had been cases of spoiled rich kids with mediocre talent—lazy, unwilling to train—who tried to leap to the top by contracting powerful beast-girls.
They thought wealth could replace talent.
They thought a powerful contract could carry them all the way to the peak.
Many had died in the martial exams.
The stronger the beast-girl and the fiercer the battle, the deeper the beastly instinct.
Those wastrels had been killed by their own uncontrollable beast-girls.
That was why everyone was having such a hard time believing what they were seeing.
Leon was officially only a D-rank beast-soul master.
Yet Selena had just unleashed power that was frightening even to veteran cultivators.
On the screen, Selena stood quietly amid the devastation.
Her long white-silver hair floated behind her in the turbulent air.
Her fitted snow-white robe fluttered around her narrow waist, held in place by its golden sash. Her porcelain-like skin was illuminated by the violent light surrounding her.
But it was her golden eyes that truly caught everyone’s attention.
They were cold.
Calm.
Almost indifferent.
In Selena’s cold eyes, the blazing magical power burned like living flame—impossible to look at directly.
The air around her twisted.
The mist had been completely blown apart.
The ground below was no longer recognizable.
An endless energy storm erupted across the battlefield.
BOOM!
BOOM!
BOOM!
The shockwaves rolled outward one after another.
Trees were ripped from the ground.
Boulders shattered.
The soil was torn open.
Beasts howled in agony.
Wounds opened across their bodies.
Bones shattered with sickening cracks.
Some were thrown dozens of meters away.
Others were buried beneath broken earth.
The entire middle zone had become a scene of destruction.
Hell on earth.
Leon stood at the center of it all.
His shoulder-length black hair whipped around his face, but his purple eyes remained unusually calm.
His black oversized coat fluttered violently behind him.
