Chapter 38: Final attack

Snow reacted the same way she had been reacting, she attacked, she lunged at him so fast he barely had time to react, her claws went right for his neck.

’Move goddammit,’ he screamed in his mind as he threw his head back. He avoided her claws and slipped under her to her side, pointing his palm at her and very quickly casting a powerful wind spell that slammed into her ribs and sent her flying. She hit hard into the wall but did not collapse, rather she recovered in seconds and raised her hand above her head, a massive ball of blood formed, glowing bright like her eyes.

"Shit."

Leon cursed and turned to run, he leaped out of the hole in the wall just before she attacked, she hurled the ball at him, it slammed into the wall with a massive explosion, turning everything into debris coated in blood.

The force hit Leon in the back and threw him to the ground, he slammed hard and rolled for a few meters before stopping, blood seeping from his arm that had been cut up as he was pushed against the ground.

"She keeps coming no matter what I do, how do I restrain her before she goes too far. She has killed guards and might kill more, if father comes and sees her this way he will put her down for sure."

Leon told himself, he got on his feet and got ready for her to rush out of the massive hole that she had blasted into everything, but instead he heard a loud crash and what followed next was her bursting out the wall right beside him, her hand wrapped around his neck and she pushed him and slammed into a wall.

The wall cracked on impact and he coughed up a mouthful of blood.

"Shit," he managed to say through the pain, her nails slowly began to dig into his neck and caused him excruciating pain.

"Arghhh, Snow, snap out of it, look at me, it’s Leon," he begged, she pressed his neck harder.

"Please," he managed to get out as he slowly started to lose consciousness.

In that instant her eyes cleared up, the red vanished and she looked at him with normal eyes for a few seconds and the realization hit her, she staggered backwards, letting go of his neck.

"Leon?" She muttered, looking in disbelief.

"Snow, you are back," Leon replied with a shine in his eyes, happy to see her back, but his happiness did not last long, she heard his heartbeat again and she lost all control in an instant, driving her hand at him at Sonic speed.

He reacted as fast as he could and evaded the attack, the fist slammed into the wall and blasted a hole right through it. Leon moved away from her fast and very quickly cast a water spell, he used it to wrap around her and stop her every movement.

She struggled against it and tried to break free. Leon gritted his teeth and forced himself to hold on even if it was a bit longer.

’She changed back, she is still in there, I need to find a way to pull her out and stop this, but how do I do that?’

While he was mid-thought, she condensed all her energy into her center until it became extremely tight and then she unleashed it as a massive blast that shattered his water bind and travelled out, the force slammed into Leon and threw him back several meters away. He hit the floor hard and rolled to a stop.

He looked up and tried to clear his head only to see a massive blood spike coming from above for his head. His wind magic kicked in as he propelled himself up from it and got up right. Before he could fully settle on his feet, she began to fire more blood spikes, each one ripped through the air fast like arrows and came right for him.

Leon weaved to the right as he evaded the first, he moved his hand and created an ice wall that blocked the next two but shattered on the third, and he was forced to dodge the fourth, it slashed into his shoulder but was nothing lethal at all.

He figured he could handle this and get closer to her, but Snow was not allowing him, she began to unleash a faster barrage of attacks and Leon was forced to dodge and evade. The attacks slammed into the ground, walls and ceiling, leaving massive destruction.

Leon pushed himself hard to defend, but one slashed into his thigh and then another to his waist and another to his shoulder.

More and more attacks began to land and blood started pouring from him. He could not focus on healing as he was busy fighting against her. He kept going until his body started collapsing to his knee.

"I can’t hold up much longer." He gritted his teeth and slammed his fists into the ground. Ice formed from his hand and travelled along the floor faster, it got to her and wrapped around her feet and started freezing her. She looked down and saw the ice and that was the opening he wanted. He bolted to his feet and charged at her, using wind magic to move fast enough to reach her.

But the moment he made it halfway to her, all the blood drops that had stained the wall reacted and spikes burst out of them, stabbing right into Leon from every direction until he was turned into a human pin cushion.

Leon coughed blood and collapsed to the floor as the spikes were retracted.

Snow looked at him on the ground, she raised her hand into the air without thought and a massive ball of blood formed in her hand. She was about to land an attack that would end it all, and Leon was far too weakened to fight back at all.

She launched the attack.

Leon’s eyes widened when he saw who had jumped into the path and blocked the attack with their bodies.
