TALENT STEALING MAGE
Chapter 37: What have you done?
Leon struggled to his feet, his entire body screamed in pain.
"Arghh," he groaned as he looked at his chest. His clothes had been ripped where she attacked, and the bruise there was heavy, taking a bit of time to even heal.
"What’s going on with her? Shit, I have to help." He pushed himself out of the rubble and got back into the hallway, only to see Snow there, but what stood before him was barely her anymore.
Her body had somehow matured more than her age, looking like a fully developed young woman. Her hands and feet up to her arms and knees were black, and her claws were inches long. Her eyes were still black and red, with black veins around her eyes. Her skin managed to be even more pale compared to before.
Her hair flowed without wind, and on her back was what seemed like dragon wings spread out, keeping her suspended off the ground.
"Shit, something has happened to her. The pillar, it must have done something." Leon muttered under his breath while keeping his eyes on her.
"Snow, I’m going to need you to calm down. Please hear my voice, we can handle whatever this is," he said and approached her slowly, but then suddenly she snapped, barring her teeth at him. She moved fast and slammed into Leon, smashing through another wall and landing into a room. They skidded back until she hurled him back and he slammed into a wall.
Leon coughed hard, the air in his lungs was knocked out, and his eyes rolled back for a second. He bit his tongue and forced himself back just in time to see her rushing at him like a bullet again.
Leon moved out of the way, her claws dug into the wall deep. He looked at her as she pulled her claws out of the wall and proceeded to come in with slashes that were fast and dangerous. He leaned back and evaded them, only to be tripped on furniture. He slammed onto the ground, and she took advantage of it immediately, leaping at him.
"I don’t want to have to hurt you, Snow!" Leon yelled and used wind magic. The blast slammed into her and slammed her against the ceiling of the room. She hit it hard and collapsed to the ground.
Leon got on his feet and backed away so that he could gather himself, but she was already standing once again, her eyes burning with ever more desire.
She raised both hands into the air, and two balls of blood formed over her hands. They glowed with a kind of energy that Leon had never seen before.
"Oh shit."
She thrust both hands forward and unleashed the blast from both hands. Leon leaped out of the way as the blood blast slammed into the wall with explosive force, breaking right through it.
She created more and began hurling attack after attack, each one slamming with the same explosive and destructive force that could shatter walls easily.
There was limited space inside the room and barely anywhere for Leon to run, and so he created a wall of earth to protect himself, making it multiple layers thick. The blood slammed into it, massive chunks dug out, but it was not able to break through it completely.
Seeing that her prey was hiding, she clasped her hands together, creating a compressed blast of blood that ripped right through the wall and pierced into Leon’s shoulder.
"Arghh," Leon groaned in pain as he collapsed. He used his hands to stop himself from falling. He heard her preparing another attack and knew that he had to do something. He rolled out from behind the wall and used a wind spell. The blast slammed into her and pushed her back into a wall. He then followed up with an ice spell that froze her to the wall, leaving only her head out.
"I’m sorry that I had to do this, Snow. I’m going to find a way to stop whatever this is, we..." He could not finish his words before a blast of blood came from her frozen hand, ripping through the ice and slamming into his thigh, coming out from the other side.
"Arghhh!" Leon groaned in pain. He looked up and saw that the ice was shattering.
At that same time, footsteps sounded in the hallway, and five guards came to the broken wall. They looked into the room and saw Leon on the ground and Snow on the wall.
"Young master!" one yelled.
"No, stay back, go away, run!" Leon yelled, but it was too late. Snow broke out of the ice. She moved fast, grabbing onto one of the guards before they could move and hurling him hard into the wall. He slammed against the wall headfirst and died on impact.
The other guards saw this, their faces changed, covered with fear and rage.
"Arghhhh!" the second yelled and tried to attack, but she evaded it, grabbed his hand and broke it. The guard tried to yell, but she snapped his neck after. She then moved onto the rest.
"Heal, heal, heal," Leon cried to his leg to heal faster. He pushed himself to stand even before it was fully healed.
He dashed toward her.
"Snow, stop! Please, Snow!" By the time he got close, she had killed four and was now on the last one. She held the shivering guard in her arms, looking right at Leon as she bit into his neck and started drinking his blood.
Her eyes glowed even more as she got her first taste of human blood. She dug deeper into the neck of the guard and ripped it out, then she tossed his body to the ground.
"Snow, what have you done?" Leon muttered. He looked around at all the corpses. His mind refused to believe the fact that she might be fully lost and that he had to attack her hard.
"Snow, please, I don’t want this. Please," he begged while tears streamed down his face. He gritted his teeth and clenched his fists.
