TALENT STEALING MAGE
Chapter 26: Almost Died
The blood blade stabbed into the chest of Miach, throwing him back until he slammed into a wall, bleeding from his chest.
Snow rushed up to Leon. She grabbed his hands and looked at him with tears in her eyes.
"Leon, Leon, please," she cried, shaking him as he lay there, barely moving.
Leon saw her in front of him. He forced a smile, his lips quivering as he started to lose his grip on life.
"I guess... this is where it ends... cough." He stretched his hand and held her face. "It was fun."
Hearing those words, Snow lost it. Flashbacks rushed into her mind. She saw a woman crying, a man running, flames burning, and she was there crying.
"No, no, no." She grabbed Leon by the head and pulled him in. She bit into her own arm, her sharp teeth sinking in and drawing blood.
"I’m not going to lose you too," she said and forced him to drink the blood. She felt him sucking, which meant he was alive. It gave her hope, gave her something to cling on to, but a few seconds later, he stopped sucking. His body went limp, and his breathing vanished.
Her eyes widened and her pupils shrunk. They trembled as she looked in fear. He was no longer responding.
"Hahahahaha, I win!" Micah laughed, and he struggled to his feet, his chest still bleeding, but he ignored it. He looked at Snow with a gaze that said it all. He was happy about what had happened.
Snow looked at him, and she lost it.
"Arghhhhhhhhh!" she growled, getting to her feet. She charged at him in an instant, moving so fast that Micah could not track her. She lunged onto him and bit right into his neck.
"Arghhhhhhh!" he screamed in pain and tried to shove her off. She ripped a good chunk of his neck out before he landed on the ground.
Micah touched his neck in disbelief. He tried to stop the blood that was gushing out, but it was to no avail. He was bleeding out too fast.
"You bastard!" he yelled and attacked with another lightning spell. She moved fast and evaded the attack, closing the distance between them. She leaped into the air and grabbed him by the head, swinging him around and slamming his face down into the ground, and then she pulled blood from his neck to create a blood blade.
Micah looked up and saw the blood blade coming in hot. He moved out of the way. It slashed the side of his face and left a thin mark. He looked ahead again and saw her rushing at him. She clung to him again and went for another bite.
Desperate, Micah used a blast of lightning at close range. The attack slammed into the two of them, but affected Snow more, and she was thrown back. She hit the ground and rolled until she stopped, a massive wound in her gut.
Micah struggled to keep standing.
"Stupid kids thinking they can come and ruin everything that I have built. This town is mine, for my use," he roared as he got closer to her with the dagger in his hands, rage burning in his eyes. He knelt over her and raised his dagger. He swung down and stabbed into her shoulder once. She let out a groan of pain, and his smile widened.
He pulled his hand back again and was ready to attack her the second time.
"Hey, asshole."
Micah turned around. He saw Leon standing with his wand stretched out.
"Have some of your own medicine."
Leon unleashed the exact same lightning spell that Micah had used. The massive bolt of lightning tore through the air and slammed into Micah. The blast threw him back a few meters, leaving a massive hole right in his chest.
Micah lay on the ground, no longer moving, dead.
"That’s what you get, you cunt," Leon said and spat on the ground.
He rushed over to Snow, raising her head off the ground.
"Snow, are you alright?" he asked in a panic.
"Well, I wasn’t, now I am," she said with a smile. Her wounds had healed up fast, and there was no scar at all.
"You survived," she muttered.
"All thanks to you," Leon replied.
The moment that she had given him her blood, the system came alive and rang with a notification. It absorbed the mana fragments until it stole her healing factor and gave him a new ability, a new talent.
He now had the healing factor of a vampire without having been turned into one. He knew she had hesitated to do this because the both of them had read that vampire blood could turn a human into a vampire, but a normal vampire lacked control and would run rampant, probably kill hundreds of people, and end up being killed as well.
"I’m so sorry I had to do it."
She said as tears welled up in her eyes. "You were dying, and I did not know what else to do aside from give you my blood," she explained, with even more tears forming.
"You saved me, Snow. Don’t be sad about that. If it wasn’t for you, I would have suffered a worse fate. Also, I somehow managed to not turn into a vampire and only took your healing," he explained.
Her eyes widened in shock when she heard that. She leaned in closer and hugged Leon.
Footsteps echoed. They turned around and saw Roger headed their way.
He arrived and saw the situation. He saw Micah dead on the ground.
"Seems I am late," Roger said.
"We almost died," Leon complained.
"Well, you didn’t, and I’d hope we don’t tell your mum about this. She would kill all of us," he said.
"Tch, you don’t even take our lives seriously," Leon pouted.
Roger let out a smile.
His heart raced as he had rushed over here. He killed the goblin’s champion and ran as fast as he could because he had stopped feeling the heartbeat of Leon. Before Ash had left, Leon’s mother had gotten something made with her and handed it to Roger.
This item told Roger whenever Leon was in dire straits or even dead, and today, he felt it and felt the highest level of fear and panic he had faced in his life before.
