TALENT STEALING MAGE
Chapter 25: Taking one to the chest
Leon felt the heavy pangs of pain long before he even looked at it. He looked down and saw the blood gushing out of his arm.
’Shit, shit.’
The pain was heart-wrenching and he could barely focus, but he had to ensure that he stopped the goblins.
The same goblin that had attacked him came rushing toward him. He responded by casting a lightning spell. A massive bolt of lightning ripped out of his hand and slammed into the goblin. The blast sent it flying backwards, leaving a massive hole in the chest of the goblin.
Huff, hufff.
He took deep breaths, grabbing his arm to stop the bleeding.
[Enough Goblin Mana fragments gathered, new ability awakened, Goblin’s Eyes]
The system notified him and in the next moment, his eyes glowed red, allowing him to see in the dark extremely well.
"I got an ability?" He muttered to himself. "Goblin Eyes, that’s a lot." He looked around and he could see everything.
He turned around and looked at the town. A few goblins had made their way there even with Tiger handling everything.
"Snow, I’m heading into town to help." Leon yelled.
She looked at him and then saw the deep bite in his arm which was bleeding. Panic formed on her face.
"Your arm!" she cried out as she blasted the head of another goblin to bits.
"It’s nothing, hold the line." He said casually, then picked up his wand. He cast a wind spell and shot into the air fast. He ripped past Roger, who had taken out a few goblins and was about to head into town too.
Roger saw Leon fly by and immediately was about to follow suit, but then a thundering roar came from the forest. He turned around and looked, and right there, three hobgoblins had stepped out, while behind them was a hulking champion.
Roger’s eyes widened. Those monsters were already close to Snow, who was facing some weaker goblins and trying to win.
"Shit," he cursed and then shot forward at the goblins, moving like a blur. The hobgoblins attacked Snow all at the same time, but before their rusted blades could get to her, Roger intercepted and blocked all three attacks in one slash, the force pushing the goblins back while he took a stance to attack.
The hobgoblins were stunned when this happened. They looked at him with utter confusion in their eyes for a moment, and then it was replaced by burning rage which they used to attack.
The first one came in with a diagonal slash. Roger leaned to the side and dodged it clean before kicking the goblin right in the chest and throwing it back in just enough time to focus on the next one. He went under the slash, his sword found the stomach of the goblin and in one large slash, he ripped right through the guts of the goblin, spinning around and stabbing the third in the chest.
He twisted the blade and pulled out. The goblin collapsed to the ground. He looked over and only the last one was left there. Without much thought, he stabbed the last hobgoblin and then turned to face the goblin champion.
It stood there seven feet tall, a massive mace in its hand and a look that said it all. He was here to destroy.
Roger readied his sword, wanting to end this fast.
[...]
Leon got to the town. The moment he set foot, he saw some goblins fighting to break down a door. He pulled his wand in front of him immediately.
"Ice lance," he muttered and created a massive ice lance, and without hesitation, he fired it. The lance slammed into the goblins, turning them all into red paste in seconds. His eyes already moved on from them before their deaths fully settled.
He located the next group who were pulling on a man hard and about to maul him. The man had stepped out with a rake to defend his home, only for the goblins to grab him.
Leon moved fast toward them and created a water bubble around the head of each one of the goblins, and then he raised the pressure so much that their heads popped, creating a bloody mess inside the water.
The man looked in utter fear.
"Go inside already!" Leon yelled at him. The man rose to his feet with fear in his heart and ran into his house, shutting the door and locking it.
Because of Snow and Roger, many goblins had not made it here, and so Leon could focus on handling the ones that were here. He moved around the town and got rid of everyone until they were all but one left.
He headed towards that one, which was focused on attacking a house and trying to get in.
Leon ended up focusing too much and did not notice when a massive blast of lightning ripped through the air and slammed right into him.
BOOM!
He was thrown back so hard he slammed into a house and broke the wall. His chest was left with a massive charred mark on it and blood seeped out of the sides of his mouth.
Leon was losing consciousness fast. The pain was so great that he could not move a single muscle.
’It hurts, it hurts so badly,’ he thought to himself, struggling to even breathe. He forced his eyes open and he saw the culprit standing there. Micah.
The same man that had run off scared and wispy was now standing over Leon and looking at him with a sinister smile drawn across his face.
"I have to give it to you, kid, you are a major pain in the ass. But at the end of the day, you are a kid and nothing else. Even you cannot bear the brunt of a two-star spell, haha."
He squatted in front of Leon and pulled out a dagger, ready to end it all.
SWOOSH
A sharp blade of blood tore through the air.
