System's POV

Chapter 1323: The System Of Cannon Fodder’s True Might [Part 3]

Chapter 1323: The System Of Cannon Fodder’s True Might [Part 3]

Knowing that he wouldn’t be able to outrun the Gandam, Vorakiel made a last ditch effort to unleash his strongest attack.

Thirteen had no plan to wait for him to finish charging up his deathblow and used the gatling cannons on his Gandam’s shoulder to hit the Demigod while his charged arrow was still charging.

The Demigod gritted his teeth and endured the attacks that hit his body. His armor, as well as magical artifacts managed to resist the attacks, but they were being destroyed at a rapid rate.

“Die!” Vorakiel shouted angrily.

The arrow left his bow like a railgun, piercing through the air, surpassing the speed of sound.

Unfortunately for him, Thirteen had already calculated everything and pulled the lever to activate the side thrusters of his Gandam.

However, a powerful force that came from the red portal locked him in place.

The Warlord of the Infernals, Lord Kaerol, finally made his move and decided to use his ability to temporarily lock the space around the Gandam, preventing it from escaping.

Left with no choice, Thirteen pushed the energy core to its limit, creating a very small barrier that was only the size of the Gandam’s Head in front of it. This barrier was slightly bent to the sides, similar to a half-opened umbrella.

A thunderous pinging sound spread in the surroundings as the charged arrow hit the barrier, slid on its surface, and flew toward the Gandam’s right side.

Seconds later, a loud explosion similar to a small tactical nuke erupted behind him.

A giant mushroom cloud rose to the sky, obliterating everything within its immediate vicinity.

The other Demigods finally caught up with the two, and engaged Thirteen in combat.

Fighting five Demigods by himself was already hard enough, but the threat of the Warlord joining the battle made Thirteen raise his guard even more.

Despite his best efforts, the intervention of the Warlord had allowed the Demigods to land solid hits on the Gandam’s body, destroying some of its parts in the process.

Even so, they weren’t able to do it unscathed.

He had also managed to injure his opponents, but their Mage was also proficient in healing, allowing his teammates to recover.

The red-headed Half-Elf, William, watched the battle with a calm expression on his face. He even glanced at his grandpa and asked him in a teasing tone.

“Aren’t you going to help him, Gramps?” William asked. “If you don’t, I’m afraid that he’ll be dead in a minute or two.”

“I’d love to do that,” James replied. “But… I don’t think he needs any help.”

William frowned because from his point of view, Zion badly needed help.

Two of the Gandam’s arms were already torn off from its body, and the teenage boy was only able to fight back using the gatling cannons on his shoulders and the Helios Darts that hovered around him like mini satellites, unleashing laser beams left and right.

Thirteen was flying back toward the city, not because he needed allies to help him but because the Devourer posed a threat to them.

His lovers were there, and without him, they would just be easy targets for the Devourer, who must have already regenerated by now.

And just as he expected, the Devourer’s body had mostly regenerated, including its head that Thirteen had blown off at point-blank range.

“There’s no place for you to run!” Vorakiel shouted arrogantly. “Accept your death already!”

Once again, he charged an arrow that could obliterate almost anything it hit. However, instead of aiming at Thirteen, he aimed it at the barrier in the distance where the teenage boy’s allies were currently at.

With a laugh filled with malice, Vorakiel unleashed his arrow without any shred of guilt or mercy.

Thirteen’s face became unnaturally calm as he moved the Gandam to face the incoming arrow meant to kill the people important to him.

Pushing the Gandam’s core to its limit, Thirteen faced the arrow head-on.

A thunderous explosion reverberated across the sky, creating a pillar of flame that spread like wildfire.

Erica’s, Sherry’s, Shana’s, Princess Aracelle’s, and Princess Xynalia’s faces turned pale.

Stella, who had also mostly recovered, watched in despair as a blazing leg of the giant robot crashed hundreds of meters away from them.

But just as she felt a lump rise up from her throat, she saw something within the blazing sky grayscaled in her eyes.

Within those shades of gray, something colorful reached her eyes.

Stella felt her heart skip a beat, thinking that Zion had died protecting them.

Earlier, she felt powerless and helpless against this situation that was outside of her control.

But seeing that beautiful and colorful flower bloom in the sky, she knew that the person who could help return the color to her world was still alive.

Meanwhile, the Demigods looked very satisfied, thinking the pesky insect who had made things difficult for them had finally died.

However, just as they were about to praise Vorakiel for his dirty tactics, a pained scream reached their ears.

The Bow Wielder was grasping the hand that held his neck from behind, choking him off of his life.

“My Gandam didn’t protect me from you.”

A voice filled with coldness and killing intent spread far and wide.

“That Gandam protected all of you from ME.”

Vorakiel felt the hand that was grasping his neck tighten considerably, making him panic.

“F-Forgive me!” Vorakiel pleaded. “I-I…”

The Demigod’s head exploded before he could even finish whatever he was saying.

Vorakiel’s body was then wrapped up by flames, which fell on the ground like a small fireball.

The four remaining Demigods stared at the teenage boy who now hovered on the spot where Vorakiel earlier stood.

(A/N: Evangelion’s “Cruel Angel’s Thesis” song plays in the background.)

Countless tendrils of light fluttered behind the teenage boy’s back, which they assumed were his wings that kept him afloat.

On top of his head, three halos shone brightly, and his green eyes glowed faintly with power.

Thirteen’s upper clothes have been destroyed by the explosion earlier, revealing his lean, toned body that brimmed with strength and vitality.

There was a reason why unlocking his Rank Ban was a mistake.

The moment this shackle was lifted, Thirteen could easily regain his peak powers.

All Systems were born as lesser Divine Beings, and the teenage boy merely reclaimed the power that was his birth right.

The One, Laplace Demon, and Metatron, couldn’t help but be surprised upon seeing Thirteen’s current form.

Meanwhile, a sigh escaped the lips of the System God, who was also paying close attention to this battle.

“The One, you are a fool,” Deus Ex Machina muttered. “You allowed yourself to be tricked by my no-good son.”

He watched as the teenage boy spread his arms wide, summoning countless golden portals behind him.

This wasn’t the effect of any skills, or any items.

It was simply a manifestation of Thirteen’s power, who wielded the Vaults of Heaven.

Right now, the teenage boy who had been a Rookie throughout his life held power that made even the Warlord, Kaelor, feel threatened.

“You bullied me earlier since I was still a Rookie,” Thirteen glanced at the red portal in the sky, a devilish smile plastered on his face. “Now, let’s see if you can bully me now.”

The being who stood in front of everyone was no longer the weak Wanderer.

He was now a being who had the power to annihilate anything that stood before him.

Thirteen had stepped upon the ranks of a Pseudo-God.

And it was now time for him to close the curtains in this battle for supremacy!
