Chapter 1321: The System Of Cannon Fodder’s True Might [Part 1]
Regulus’s eyes rounded in horror as he stared at the Gandam that wiped out nearly a hundred Infernals in the blink of an eye.
Even the Devourer showed apprehension at the enemy that suddenly appeared before it.
“Good. No nosebleeds,” Thirteen muttered as an evil smile appeared on his face.
With his Rank Ban lifted, his strength jumped drastically, breaking past the ranks of mortals and achieving a body that allowed him to handle the complex calculations without endangering his life.
In the past, he would always collapse and fall into a coma after intense battles that required him to do complex calculations.
But with that limitation now gone, the System of Canon Fodders could fight without being held back.
The Devourer roared and transformed its hands into an axe and a sword before charging at Thirteen, intending to hack him to pieces.
Thirteen merely sneered as he pointed the Gundam’s guns at the abomination that planned to fight it in close combat.
“Activate Gatling Mode,” Thirteen ordered.
< Gatling Mode Activated. >
Thirteen’s guns blazed to life, firing countless rounds of light-infused mana shells, the barrels spinning so fast that they left golden afterimages in the air.
The Devourer raised its axe and sword-arms in an attempt to block, but the shells punched through them like paper, shredding flesh and demonic energy alike.
“This is what you call bringing a gun to a fist fight.” Kazogonaga blinked. “Very effective.”
His friends smiled wryly. Who would bring a gun in a fist fight?
But seeing the battle in front of them, they could tell that the person controlling the Gandam wasn’t restricted by any rules and fought with everything it had.
A pained scream escaped the Devourer’s lips as its entire body was riddled with holes. However, as a creature that had reached the Demigod Rank, it wasn’t that easily defeated.
The injuries in its body healed rapidly, and within a few seconds, no signs of destruction was left on its body.
“A regeneration type abomination huh?” Thirteen grinned. “Noice!”
“Hey, Thirteen can you hear me?” Erasmus’ spoke through the Aether Channels. “That abomination looks good. Make sure to give it to me after it’s dead.”
“Deal,” Thirteen replied without hesitation.
Good things were meant to be shared within the family, and he had considered Erasmus as family long ago.
“How could this happen?!” Regulus grabbed hold of Korath’s arm. “You promised me that I’ll be the King of Artem. You promised me!”
“Calm down,” Korath pried the old man’s hand from his arm. “The Devourer isn’t the only Demigod in our army.”
The Commander of Kaerol’s Army glanced at one of his subordinates, who looked like he was made from obsidian.
“Help the Devourer,” Korath ordered.
Despite being weaker than the Obsidian Infernal, the latter nodded and turned invisible.
He was an assassin type Infernal who launched sneak attacks that would instantly take its target’s life.
His name was Zyrak, and up to this day, he had never failed to eliminate his targets.
Thirteen continuously blasted the devourer to bits, the muzzles of his firearms emitting white smoke.
The Infernals no longer dared to come near him because the Helios Darts around him automatically attacked those who came within its range.
Just as Thirteen’s guns entered a cooldown state, the teenage boy noticed something moving in his radar.
Seeing this, he didn’t hesitate to summon another weapon in his Gandam—a giant spiked mace.
The Spiked Mace was a Legendary-Rank weapon that Metatron had loaned to him.
Its name was the Punisher, and Thirteen planned to use it to punish a pest slowly approaching from his back.
Without even looking behind him, the Gandam did a backhand blow, hitting Zyrak’s chest and sending it flying.
The Demigod was five-meters tall, and the width of Thirteen’s mace was just as big as his body, making him feel pain like he had never felt before.
However, before it could get far, the Gundam unleashed a tail-like hook behind its back, grabbing Zyrak’s foot.
The tail then pulled back the Assassin, who was still trying to understand just what happened to him.
Before he could even come to accept that his sneak attack had failed, Thirteen slammed his face downward, pinning Zyrak on the ground.
The Gandam pummeled its foe repeatedly, while the Helios Darts fired round after round at point-blank range.
The Devourer then chose this opportunity to charge at its opponent, while it was busy beating up its ally.
But to its surprise, the flying coffin and the baby slime flew near its face.
Eiko didn’t hesitate to slap the Devourer’s face with its golden anchor, making it stagger.
If Thirteen’s mace was of the Legendary Rank, Eiko’s golden anchor was of the Divine Rank!
It was not really a weapon but an artifact made by a God.
However, since it had the Divine Rank, its sturdiness, and hardness, defied mortal standards!
The Devourer, who had just been slapped, roared at the baby slime, but the latter simply took out a bomb as big as a car and casually tossed it inside the Devourer’s wide open mouth.
“Shut up, F*cker,” Eiko said before flying away.
A few seconds later, half of the devourer’s body exploded, sending blood, and flesh flying everywhere.
Had it been an ordinary creature, the damage it received would’ve been more than enough to kill it.
But it was a Demigod. Although it was a bit slow, its uncanny regeneration rate started to reform its body once more.
While this was happening, the Obsidian Assassin finally reached its limit and decided to detonate itself to at least bring down Thirteen with him.
But before it could fully explode, the hook-like tail on the Gandam’s back threw it toward the red portal, where Korath and the other Celestials were.
The self-detonation of a Demigod was not something even Thirteen could shrug off so easily, so he decided to throw Zyrak back to his friends. That way, he wouldn’t be so bored and lonely in the afterlife.
And just as he expected, a thunderous explosion erupted in the sky, blasting away all the Infernals that were too close to the dying Demigod.
The Gandam’s eyes that were now blazing in an eerie red glow locked Regulus and Korath in its sight.
Thirteen casually pulled the trigger, and his two guns once again blared to life, making the infernals scream as the teenage boy made them understand that they didn’t come to Artem to conquer it.
No.
They came to Artem to be slaughtered by him.
