Chapter 1633: Fight!
Chapter 1633: Fight!
Clang!
Clang!
Clang!
Conrad and the beast continued their clash. Thanks to Luke’s plan, the battlefield had become chaotic but favorable to Conrad.
There were many demons to target, as they had become nothing but a bunch of beasts that moved by instinct.
As a result, Conrad could send his attack to them. However, the ancient demon was quite tough. Even though Conrad could fight it and even send his attacks to other demons, there was still not a single wound on the demon’s body.
In addition, neither of them had released their trump card.
If this continued, there was no telling who would win and who would lose.
However, there was one thing that had changed. Now that the demons had charged mindlessly, the royal army actually started fighting back.
They began overwhelming the demons with their formations and tactics. Some shield bearers were stopping the demons in front as bows and even elemental attacks bombarded them right after.
As a result, the demons were slaughtered.
One general came forward. "Marshal!"
"!!!" Conrad didn’t look away as he was too busy with the fight. However, he could hear him clearly.
"Don’t worry about the royal army. We will be fighting with our lives on the line. Our royal army has been degraded so much because of the demons. We want to slaughter the demons to restore our prestige."
Conrad was surprised to hear that conviction. However, it actually worked for him.
Conrad smiled. Rather than responding with words, Conrad preferred to show it through actions.
"True Spirit Body!" Conrad shouted.
His hair turned green as the wind pressure around him became abnormal.
When he swung his spear, the wind continued forward, not only cutting the ancient demon but also the demons.
"!!!" The ancient demon was surprised by the sudden increase in power. Knowing that it would be bad if it got injured even more, the ancient demon’s eyes turned bloodshot as it went berserk.
The ancient demon struck back, using its overwhelming strength to pin Conrad down.
Conrad took it with his spear as the ground underneath him shattered.
Conrad poured the wind from below, using the momentum to push the demon back. Then, he thrust his spear forward.
The ancient demon slapped the spear with its paw, but the wind suddenly blew the spear, causing it to twist and ultimately change its trajectory.
As a result, the paw missed the spear as the latter struck the beast on the right leg.
*Roar!*
The beast let out a roar filled with spiritual energy.
Conrad could block this power, but he chose not to. Blood came out of his ears as his eardrums ruptured.
But thanks to him taking the full brunt of the attack with his own body, Conrad could pour the rest of his energy into the attack.
"Haaa!" Conrad shouted as he let the wind burst from the spearhead.
Since the spear was still within the demon’s leg, it actually shredded the arm from the inside.
The ancient demon seemed to have sensed it by instinct and avoided the fatal mistake.
However, a large portion of its legs was already gone. Even if it could still use it, it wouldn’t be able to produce a significant amount of power.
"Haaa!"
This was the answer Conrad gave to the soldiers of the royal army.
The general clenched his hands into fists. "All troops. Kill all the demons!"
"Ohhh!"
The battle was fierce, lasting a very long time. Conrad and the ancient demon dealt damage to each other.
However, there was a reason why Conrad, who was originally a commoner, managed to rise to this position.
It was true that he was talented. But there was one thing that allowed his talent to bloom.
Conrad had never feared death.
Despite knowing that he would be full of injuries, Conrad still charged forward and took the attack head-on. His body had been refined by countless experiences.
What didn’t kill him made him stronger? Even though he had hidden it with the clothes that symbolized his status, the fight had made him unable to hide it any longer.
The relentless exchanges had shredded his shirt up, showing the refined muscles. More importantly, it showed the body with countless wounds on it.
Burns, sword wounds, stab wounds... All kinds of wounds had been embedded on that body.
Conrad had enough. With all the talent he possessed, he chose to give up the pursuit of martial arts so that he could serve the royal family.
However, his service had been discredited by the very people he had served.
Now, that curse had shattered.
Conrad gritted his teeth. "From now on, the Muivell Kingdom will be better. I won’t let you demons destroy it again!"
The ancient demon slipped past his defenses and swallowed his left arm.
Yet Conrad took a step forward as if he didn’t mind having his left arm gone.
He turned his body around and stabbed the ancient demon’s head, pouring his wind into it so that the head would burst.
The ancient demon widened its eyes at the last moment before its head popped out like a balloon.
"Marshal!"
The people heard him and witnessed his battle. They were worried because the marshal had lost one of his arms.
However, Conrad simply stood still. "What are you doing? Are you still not fighting hard enough that you have the time to worry about me?"
"!!!" The soldiers were shaken. His voice carried Conrad’s resolve. This was their leader’s resolve.
For the sake of future generations who would be better after this dark age, Conrad never turned his back.
The soldiers gripped their weapons even tighter. That was right. The battle was not over.
If they had the time to worry, they should kill one more demon.
They shouldn’t embarrass their supreme commander.
"Oohhhh!"
One soldier roared, showing his resolve.
"Ohhhh!" Other soldiers followed right after as they started advancing again.
Without even looking, Conrad knew that the spirit of the royal army had been fully reignited.
Until his True Spirit Body wore off... No, even if his True Spirit Body had worn off, he would still fight on the battlefield.
"On me!"
