Chapter 92: 92:Darling won’t know

Nova arched an elegant eyebrow, staring at Cassian in unimpressed silence.

"Darling, you care so much for me. I’m incredibly moved," Cassian murmured, lifting her hand to plant a gentle, lingering kiss on her knuckles.

Nova rolled her eyes. "I didn’t plant an informant in your company, I planted monitors on every single thing you own," she thought in dry amusement.

"Don’t change the topic," Raymond interjected, his voice cutting through the air like a blade. "How many women have been throwing themselves at you?"

Cassian ignored him, keeping his gaze locked on Nova. "Trust me, darling, you are the only honey that catches my eye. I love only you," he declared, his tone utterly devoted.

Nova chuckled, her icy exterior melting slightly under his intense stare. "I know," she whispered. Reaching out with her free hand, she gripped Cassian’s chin, forcing him to hold her dead-serious gaze. "It doesn’t matter how many there are. I will tear them down, one after another. You can only be mine."

Cassian stared back, utterly lovestruck. "So domineering! She’s claiming me as hers alone! Damn it, I hit the jackpot!" he screamed internally. He nodded eagerly, leaning into her touch. "Only yours, darling. I am entirely yours," he replied, a wide, predatory grin spreading across his face.

Nova couldn’t help but chuckle at his ecstatic expression. "Help, my man is hopelessly in love," she thought, letting out a soft sigh.

Suddenly, Raymond gripped Nova’s other hand tightly. "Wifey, I am sleeping with you. Alone. Tonight," he announced.

Cassian’s joyous smile froze and shattered, morphing into a deadly glare directed at Raymond. "Why?" he demanded coldly.

"Mind your business," Raymond scoffed, entirely unbothered.

"This is my highest business, so I am minding it. Why do you get to sleep alone with my darling? Where exactly am I supposed to sleep?" Cassian snarled, the tension between the two men instantly spiking to dangerous levels.

Raymond stared at Cassian with utter disbelief. "Aren’t there dozens of rooms in the mansion? Sleep anywhere. Better yet, sleep with Alan," he retorted dismissively.

Cassian gritted his teeth, his eyes flashing with the promise of violence. But then, as if suddenly realizing something, his expression smoothed into a harmless, terrifyingly pleasant smile. "Oh, I have no problem with that. I will sleep in Alan’s room."

Raymond narrowed his eyes, immediately suspicious of the sudden compliance. "What are you up to?" he asked flatly.

"Nothing. I’m letting you have your way peacefully. Our wife doesn’t like it when we argue, so I am graciously backing down for tonight," Cassian replied smoothly, sounding entirely too generous.

Nova sighed, massaging her temples. "I bet you are plotting something," she commented.

Raymond nodded in staunch agreement.

Cassian’s sly smile only widened, his eyes locking onto Raymond like a fox watching its prey step into a trap.

Nova glanced between the two dangerous men. "Whatever you’re planning, just don’t hurt each other," she warned.

"Of course I won’t hurt him," Cassian promised, pressing another kiss to Nova’s knuckles, all while shooting Raymond an utterly evil smirk.

....Evening....

After a tense but quiet dinner, Raymond scooped Nova up into his arms and carried her upstairs to the master suite, leaving Alan and Cassian alone at the dining table.

"Hey!" Alan protested, jumping up to chase after them.

But Cassian’s heavy hand instantly dropped onto his shoulder, pinning him firmly in place. He whistled a dark, jaunty tune. "We are sleeping in the same room tonight," he announced.

"Why on earth are we sleeping together?" Alan asked, thoroughly confused and disgusted. "I’m not sleeping with you. I’m going to sleep with my Snow."

Cassian stared down at him, then leaned in and whispered something dark and secretive into his ear.

Alan’s eyes widened in horror. "Count me out!" he blurted, shaking his head furiously.

"I wasn’t asking for your permission," Cassian hissed.

Alan gulped nervously. "Will... will Snow be angry?" he asked softly.

"It’s a secret. Darling won’t know," Cassian replied with a villainous chuckle.

His sinister amusement was abruptly cut short by the buzzing of his phone. Checking the caller ID, Cassian’s brows knitted together. He answered, his playful tone vanishing into cold authority. "Calling so late at night. What’s the matter?"

"Um... I’ve been trying to reach you for a while. I visited your estate but discovered you don’t live there anymore," Felix’s voice echoed nervously over the line.

"Since when do you care about my whereabouts?" Cassian asked, his voice dripping with ice. "Get straight to the point. I don’t have time for this."

"Is... is Andrew still living with you?" Felix asked hesitantly.

Cassian fell silent, a heavy pause stretching over the line. "No. Why?" he demanded.

"Nothing, I was just asking," Felix replied quickly. After a few seconds of tense silence, he pushed, "Do you have his contact number?"

"Why would I have his number? Go find it yourself. He’s not with me," Cassian snapped.

"Oh, okay then. Goodbye," Felix muttered, hastily ending the call.

Cassian stared at his darkened screen in disbelief. "He called just to ask me that? Seriously?" Shoving the phone back into his pocket, he turned to Alan. "Let’s go to sleep," he said.

Alan nodded reluctantly, and the two headed upstairs to the guest room right next to Raymond’s.

Inside the Master Suite

The atmosphere in the master bedroom was thick with a heavy, intimate tension. Nova had just finished her evening bath. Wrapped only in a white towel, her wet hair cascading down her bare shoulders, she sat elegantly at the vanity mirror.

Behind her, Raymond stepped out of the shadows. He wrapped his strong arms around her shoulders, leaning down to press a hot, lingering kiss to the side of her neck.

Nova met his smoldering gaze in the mirror’s reflection and smiled warmly. "Is it compulsory for you to leave?" she asked softly. "You know you could just skip the mission."

Raymond chuckled, the deep vibration rumbling against her skin. "Wouldn’t I be a coward if I skipped it? How would I ever have the face to stand beside you in the future?" he replied gently. He took the hairdryer from the vanity and began expertly drying her damp hair.

"I don’t care about any of that," Nova murmured, her voice dropping to a vulnerable whisper. "I might look unbothered on the outside... but I am deeply worried about you."

Raymond froze. The dryer clicked off, leaving the room in a heavy, charged silence. A raw, incredibly genuine smile spread across his handsome face, it was as if his soul had been starving for those exact words. Setting the dryer down, he scooped Nova up into his arms in bridal style and carried her to the center of the massive bed.

"Wifey..." he murmured, his eyes burning with intense devotion as he hovered over her. "Hearing you say you’re worried about me... makes me the happiest man alive."

"You shouldn’t be—"

Before Nova could finish her sentence, Raymond captured her lips in a fierce, breathless kiss. He kissed her deeply, pouring all his pent-up emotion and longing into the moment, refusing to pull away until they were both gasping for air.

"Don’t worry, wifey. I will come back to you. I will make you proud," Raymond whispered fiercely against her mouth.

He sealed her lips once more. His hands deftly found the knot of her towel, pulling it away and tossing it to the floor with effortless grace. The heavy tension in the room snapped into absolute passion, and soon, soft moans of pleasure filled the dark room, echoing late into the night.
