Chapter 68: 68:Your crush has been snatched

Lucian chuckled, looking harmless. "My sister-in-law started schooling, and you didn’t even inform me. That’s not nice. I would have offered to be her personal driver," he said.

Cassian’s face lacked any trace of a smile. "You shouldn’t bother yourself with that. I can become her personal driver myself, there’s no need for substitutes," he replied coldly.

Venom looked at Cassian, his eyes lacking any trace of emotion, then he looked away, his thoughts becoming a mystery.

Lucian smiled, cutting through the heavy air. "True. I have two pieces of information to share. What will you use to repay me for them?" he asked, staring at Cassian.

"Do I look like I need you to tell me things?" Cassian glared back at him.

"True... even if I don’t tell you, you should be able to find out in the next three years," Lucian replied.

Cassian’s brows knitted slightly, and he remained silent.

Lucian sighed. "I don’t want something big. How about this, I will tell you the two pieces of information, as long as you buy me a house," he said.

"You don’t seem to lack the money to buy a house yourself," Cassian commented coldly.

"I don’t feel like spending my money," Lucian replied simply.

Cassian stared longer at Lucian, the tension sharpening into a razor-thin edge. "What are you up to?" he questioned, his voice filled with suspicion.

Lucian lightly shook his head. "Don’t worry, I’m not here to give you trouble. Just buy me a house, that’s all I want," he commented.

Cassian nodded. "A house it is. You can speak now," he said.

Lucian’s smile widened. "The mastermind is no one other than Trison," he said.

"What!" Cassian’s eyes widened slightly in shock, and his brows knitted tightly together. "He’s alive?" he asked.

"I wouldn’t have known he’s the one behind this if I hadn’t bumped into him. Thankfully, I was just sneaking around, so he didn’t see my face."

Cassian’s brows knitted more tightly. "You went into his territory?" he questioned.

Lucian was silent for a while. "Don’t ask me anything about that. Just know that he’s alive, and this time he really means business. He’s after your life and sister-in-law’s, including our parents. But... what’s confusing me is the fact that Alan is involved. I don’t know what that schoolboy did to offend him," he explained, his brows knitted tightly together.

Cassian clenched his fists tightly. "Seems like I will have to go all out this time. I mustn’t let that bastard hurt my wife, but... what is his deal with Alan?" he thought.

"But don’t worry too much. After all, sister-in-law isn’t some kind of delicate girl, she can keep herself safe too," Lucian commented.

Cassian glared at him. "What’s the second piece of information?" he asked.

Lucian’s smile widened. "Mhm. Prince called me today and proposed I help him get Raymond to his underground bar. He probably wants to get rid of him," he said. "I must say, what he offered is quite tempting, it’s what I’ve always wanted. But see... I rejected it because I don’t want to anger my sister-in-law. If she’s angry, it’s entirely to my disadvantage," he added.

Cassian hissed. "I know this guy won’t stay still. Seems like I will have to give him some more work outside the city," he murmured, and stared at Lucian. "What did you say to him?" he asked.

Lucian rubbed his nose lightly. "I just let him know he is missing Alan. After all, he is also sister-in-law’s husband," he replied, shrugging nonchalantly.

Cassian gritted his teeth together. "You know quite a lot about my wife don’t you?," he commented, glaring at Lucian with a murderous gaze.

Lucian’s smile widened without speaking. "When will my house be available?" he asked, dismissing the conversation.

Cassian looked away and stood up. "Venom will arrange that," he replied, and went out, heading to his company.

Venom stared at Lucian with knitted brows. "Young master, can we go now?" he asked, his voice emotionless.

Lucian flashed him a gentle smile and stood up, walking out while Venom followed him.

The Academy

"That’s all for this morning. See you next class," Miss Grace said, picking up her textbook and leaving the class.

As soon as Miss Grace left, Rita entered. She had already changed into a new uniform, but her hair was still messed up with the yellow paint. She glared hatefully at Nova before settling back into her seat, angrily adjusting her books.

Nova was still sleeping soundly at the back when Alan entered with a full nylon bag of different types of snacks.

Sensing Alan’s presence, Nova raised her head and stared at him, her cold eyes relaxing immediately. "Done with your class?" she asked.

Alan nodded with a chuckle and sat in the empty seat beside Nova. "I brought you snacks," he said, placing the bag on the desk. He brought out a chocolate bar, removing the wrapper. "Here, have a taste," he added, staring at Nova.

Nova stared at the chocolate and couldn’t help smiling. She opened her mouth and ate it. "Mhm... not bad," she commented, her mood brightening up.

Everyone was shocked, staring at Nova and Alan being lovely together.

"Our beauty can actually smile! So beautiful!"

"Isn’t that the school’s most handsome boy in the science computing department?"

"It’s him! The beauty and the handsome! A match made in heaven, ahh! I’m dying!"

"Both of them are perfect together!"

Whispers started among the students, their eyes filled with admiration and envy.

But beneath the buzzing excitement, a different kind of tension brewed at the front of the room—a sharp, venomous undercurrent. Rita’s petty jealousy radiated like toxic heat, clashing invisibly with the dark, overwhelming aura that Nova casually suppressed. It was a silent, predatory game of cat and mouse, and the air crackled with the invisible threat of impending violence.

Seeing the scene, Rita smirked and brought out her phone, secretly taking a picture of Alan feeding Nova chocolate. She sent it to someone with a message..

"Sister, your crush has been snatched."

Seeing the message delivered, she smiled wickedly. "Let’s see how you will be messed up this time," she thought, and kept her phone away, flipping through her book happily.

Nova stared at Rita’s back, already aware she had taken a photo of her and Alan. Her eyes darkened as her smirk widened into something terrifying and cold.

"Someone has successfully run out of the world’s luck," Nova thought, accepting Alan’s feeding without turning her gaze away.
