"I’ll have to go all out then," Ruby commented. She immediately launched at Nova at her highest speed, the air whipping around her as she raised her left leg for a lethal kick. But Nova effortlessly caught her leg in mid-air. With a sickening thud, she slammed her against the wall, her expression completely emotionless. The tension in the room thickened into something suffocating.

"Urgh," Ruby groaned painfully, but she immediately forced herself to stand up and attacked Nova again. She threw a barrage of desperate punches, the force behind them heavy, but Nova easily avoided every single attack, moving like a phantom.

"I’m confused... is this all your years of training?" Nova questioned, her voice dripping with cold mockery while still fluidly dodging her attacks.

Ruby was enraged and grew more forceful, swinging wildly, desperately trying to hit Nova even just once, but all her efforts were in vain.

"Disappointing," Nova murmured. She suddenly stretched out her hand, grabbing Ruby by the neck with an iron grip and effortlessly lifting her off the ground.

"Ah... ah!" Ruby couldn’t breathe. She desperately clawed at Nova’s hand, trying to pry it away from her neck, but all her frantic efforts resulted in failure. The deadly silence in the room was only broken by Ruby’s struggling gasps.

"You asked who my husband is... listen carefully now. My husband is Raymond, the handsome man whose information you leaked to his enemies," Nova said, staring dead into Ruby’s pale face.

Ruby was completely shocked. The fear in her heart grew intensely sharp as pure panic completely took over her. "She’s the wife he talked about!" she thought, still struggling weakly to break free from Nova’s hold and escape.

"Not only did you leak my husband’s information out, but you almost got him killed, and you had the audacity to want to perish with my husband!" she shouted, fierce anger burning in her eyes as her grip tightened even more around Ruby’s neck.

"Uh... uh!" Ruby desperately wanted to plead for forgiveness, but Nova didn’t look like she had any intention of letting her go. Ruby’s face was already turning a deadly white from the lack of oxygen, she could only plead with her hands.

Nova’s predatory smile widened. "Greet the devil for me when you reach hell," she said, and violently twisted her hand, snapping Ruby’s neck.

A loud crack echoed in the tense room. Ruby’s body went heavy instantly as the last light in her eyes faded away. Her hands dropped to her sides, completely losing their life.

Nova tossed Ruby’s lifeless body onto the floor, staring down at it with a cold expression on her face. "Trash," she murmured. She was about to leave when the door suddenly opened, and Raymond came into view.

"Don’t move!" Raymond shouted, pointing his gun at Nova, but he was shocked upon recognizing her back. "Wifey!" he called out.

Nova raised both her hands up and turned around, flashing him a sweet smile. "You arrived quite fast, hubby," she commented, keeping her hands raised.

Raymond lowered his gun, hiding it quickly, and stared at the dead Ruby. "You killed her?" he whispered, moving closer to Nova immediately, checking her over to see if she was injured.

"Who asked her to not only betray you but also have dirty thoughts about you?" Nova shrugged nonchalantly.

Raymond was left speechless. "Wifey, you... are you jealous?" he asked, giggling softly.

Nova stared at him. "You are my husband already. No other female is allowed to have any stupid ideas, let alone want to take your life," she replied.

Raymond chuckled and pulled Nova’s raised hands down. "I’m so happy." Raymond pressed a long, deep kiss onto Nova’s lips. "I love you, wifey," he added, giggling nonstop.

Nova stared longer at Raymond. "You seem to have forgotten that I just killed someone," she said.

"My men are outside," Raymond murmured in worry, then his gaze fell on the opened window. "Come, I’ll help you escape, I will handle the rest," he replied, walking towards the bed and preparing to knot bedsheets together for Nova to escape.

Seeing Raymond so serious about her escape plan, she couldn’t help laughing. "If you do this, you will be arrested. Are you planning to sacrifice yourself in place of me?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.

Raymond bit his lower lip and gave Nova a warm smile. "I can’t let my wife be in any trouble," he replied. "But... can you promise to visit me once in a while before my death in the prison?" he asked, his eyes fixed intensely on Nova.

Nova smiled. "I’m yet to introduce my third husband to you," she said.

"Yeah... wait, what?" Raymond was stunned, dropping the fabric in his hand and marching towards Nova. "Third husband? You married another man?" he asked.

Nova nodded, her beautiful smile never fading.

"You are not going to divorce me, are you?" Raymond asked immediately. "Wifey, no divorce, okay?" He held her hand tightly.

Nova laughed. "I didn’t mention any divorce," she replied. "And yes, I can’t visit you at the prison," she added.

Raymond breathed out a sigh of relief at first, but hearing her last statement, he clenched his fists so tightly that his knuckles turned white. He forced a smile onto his lips, nodding, his eyes red from holding back his tears.

"Yes, at least there’s no divorce, that’s enough," he said.

"What are you thinking, hubby? Of course I won’t visit you in prison because you don’t have to go to prison. I didn’t kill her just so you could get killed lawfully." Nova rolled her eyes, wrapping her arms smoothly around his neck.

Raymond was stunned, then realized she wasn’t the type to act recklessly. "True. What do you want to do now?" he asked.

"Didn’t the Sunny family want to attack you? We can just let them take the blame for her death. She revealed your identity to them and leaked more secrets to them. They wanted to kill her in order to silence her, but after she escaped several times, they used her mother to threaten her, and thus..."

With a wave of Nova’s hand, the fabric Raymond had knotted suddenly floated into the air and hung itself securely from the ceiling. Then, Ruby’s lifeless body lifted ominously into the air, the fabric wrapping around her neck as a stool magically moved and positioned itself perfectly under her dangling feet.

"She committed suicide by hanging herself," she completed, her devilish smile widening.

Raymond’s mouth hung slightly open in awe. "I can’t believe I married a goddess," he commented, witnessing the whole supernatural scene while completely ignoring the danger.

Nova’s devilish smile turned into warm laughter immediately. "A goddess? Hubby, what makes you believe I’m a goddess?" she asked.

"Very obvious... I knew you weren’t just an ordinary beauty the first time I met you. See how you handle everything without even moving," Raymond replied, giggling nonstop.

Nova raised an eyebrow, amazed. She moved closer to the stool and kicked it away, making it fall to the floor with a loud clatter. "Anah, wipe all the fingerprints belonging to me and my husband. Replace them with Ruby’s own, in case of an unnecessary investigation," she said.

"Done," Anah announced, already aware of what she was supposed to do.

Nova nodded. "Let’s go home, hubby. Leave the Sunny family to me," she said.

"I know you don’t need my protection, but I can’t just leave you to face the Sunny family alone. I can still handle them in two months’ time," Raymond replied immediately.

Nova shook her head. "Listen to me, alright? Have you gotten the results for the mirror?"

"The results will be out tomorrow," Raymond replied.

"Then you should go home. Once they are out, you can just inform Mum," Nova said.

Raymond hesitated for a long time before finally nodding. "Let me help you escape first," he offered.

Nova chuckled and kissed Raymond deeply on his lips. The kiss deepened, and Raymond closed his eyes to draw himself further into the sweet moment, but just as he closed his eyes, a sudden, cold wind blew across his face.

He opened his eyes again, only to find that Nova was nowhere to be found. He smiled warmly, touching his lips. "So cute," he muttered.

"Boss, is everything okay inside there?" a voice sounded from outside the door.

"Come in. Ruby committed suicide," Raymond replied. His voice turned completely cold as his gaze fell back onto Ruby’s lifeless, dangling body.
