Chapter 41: So you stole someone else’s wife?

Alan froze, staring at his mother with an expression of disbelief on his face. "Mum, you..."

Mrs. Mira stared at him. "You choose," she repeated.

Alan clenched his fists tightly and held Nova’s hand tighter. "Mom... I’m sorry," he replied, bowing his head.

Mrs. Mira stared longer at Nova, then burst into genuine laughter. "I’m your mother, how can I not see how much you love this tempting beauty here?" she said.

"Nova, I’m leaving my son in your care," Mrs. Mira said, staring at Nova.

Nova’s smile widened. "You don’t have to worry, you can do your things with peace of mind," she assured.

Mrs. Mira nodded and stared at Alan. "I know I’ve messed things up and it’s too late to fix things, but still, I’m happy my son found someone to make him smile. That’s enough for me," she said.

"Mom... where are you going?" Alan asked, noticing she sounded more like she was saying goodbye.

Mrs. Mira chuckled. "To get back everything I’ve lost. I know you are capable now, but leave things to Mum, okay? Just focus on your studies and your new wife," she said.

Alan was silent for a while before nodding.

Mrs. Mira glanced at Nova once more. "Thank you... very much," she whispered. Earning a smile from Nova, she walked out of the mansion.

Alan stared at his mother’s disappearing back and clenched his fists tightly. "Be safe, Mum," he thought.

Nova gently patted Alan’s shoulder. "She’s very safe, don’t worry," she said.

Alan stared at Nova and smiled warmly. "These few days.... you will....." He couldn’t complete his statement when Nova’s phone started ringing out loud.

Nova smiled apologetically and picked up the call, placing the phone to her ear. "Hello," she said.

"Darling! Darling, I’m seriously injured! I’m now at the hospital, please come and take care of me!" Cassian’s voice echoed from over the phone.

Alan closed his eyes, trying to suppress his anger while gritting his teeth together. "Why did he have to call at this time? I was just about to propose spending more days alone with my Snow, but this bastard just had to ruin things at the last minute. Who on earth is he?" he thought angrily.

"You don’t sound terribly injured," Nova pointed out, her tone filled with doubt.

"Ouch, it hurts a lot. Ah, my leg... I can’t lift my leg anymore. Darling, please come," Cassian cried.

Nova sighed. "I’m coming," she said, and disconnected the call. She stared at Alan. "I..."

"Let me follow you, Snow. You can use this chance to introduce me to him," Alan cut in immediately, hugging Nova’s arm.

Nova nodded. "Let’s go then," she said, and they both left the mansion.

The hospital.

Cassian lay on the hospital bed, dressed in a patient’s gown. His leg was hung high and heavily bandaged as he tapped on his phone, not looking serious at all.

Standing beside him was Felix, who adjusted his glasses, staring at Cassian with a confused expression on his face.

"Cassian, you are not that seriously injured. What is all this drama about?" he asked, looking pissed.

Cassian stared at him and chuckled. "You don’t understand. That Raymond guy almost kicked me out of my darling’s heart. She didn’t even remember me. If I don’t act like this, she won’t remember me," he replied.

Felix rolled his eyes. "He’s her bestie?" he asked.

Cassian shook his head. "Husband," he replied.

It was as if Felix had been struck by lightning. "So you stole someone else’s wife? You are this shameless!" he shouted.

Cassian stared longer at him. "It can’t be considered stealing, I married her too. We are all family here. Don’t talk about me, worry about yourself. All these years you have been single, but it shocked me when it was finally revealed to me that you are gay," he mocked.

Felix rubbed his nose slightly. "I wasn’t before. I also just realized I’m gay after meeting him," he replied.

Cassian shook his head. "At least that’s a relief. I won’t have to worry about you falling for my woman too," he said.

Felix rolled his eyes. "I wouldn’t be interested in married women anyway, even if I wasn’t gay," he muttered.

"Your injury... it doesn’t need so much drama," Nova’s voice echoed, drawing everyone’s attention to the entrance.

Seeing Nova, Cassian was stunned, he couldn’t help himself from falling in love all over again. "Damn... my darling looks so good in white, I must get her more white clothes." he thought.

Felix stared at Nova. "So beautiful," he thought, his brows knitting immediately. "Wait, she’s Cassian’s wife?" he thought.

Nova noticed Felix’s gaze on her and rolled her eyes, walking inside with Alan silently walking behind her.

Nova scanned Cassian’s heavily bandaged leg, seeing right through the bandage and noticing it was just a simple scratch that didn’t even require a visit to the hospital.

Nova sighed, staring at Cassian, who was giving her a guilty smile. "Heavily injured, I see," she stated.

Cassian smiled and pulled down his leg. Sitting up on the bed, he pulled Nova closer to himself, hugging her while staring at her with a cute expression.

"I’ve missed you so much. You have been with him all this time, I felt so alone," he murmured.

"Oh," Nova poked her inner cheek with her tongue. "You know about him already?" she said. "Come here, Alan. This is Cassian, my second husband," she introduced.

Cassian was stunned, finally noticing Alan. "Ehn... why are you introducing him to me?" he asked, not daring to let his guesses run wild.

Nova stared at him. "Don’t you know already? He’s my third husband," she replied. "I was with him all this while," she added.

Cassian’s blood froze. "NO....VA!" he shouted.

Felix was beyond stunned. Seeing the atmosphere getting tense, he quietly slipped away, not willing to hear any more of the conversation because he knew it would be entirely to his disadvantage if he stayed there any longer.

Alan was annoyed and snatched Nova away from him. "Why are you shouting at her? Do you want to frighten her?" he questioned angrily.
