Chapter 35: The bastard daughter of a whore

A few hours ago...

"This Sunny family... I’m now interested in them," she commented.

The large blue screen appeared, and the information on the Sunny family was displayed on the screen. Then, Anah’s voice echoed.

"The Sunny family is made up of five people: the father and mother, two sons, and one adopted daughter."

"The first son’s name is Edward, while the second son’s name is Alex, and the daughter’s name is Viona. The eldest son, Edward, is the heir to the Sunny family, but he is involved with the disappearance of a lady named Nina."

"He is among the five men who raped and killed the Nina girl, and of course, he helped with burying her and hiding the evidence. Raymond was given the task to investigate the incident, but someone in his circle leaked the information to Edward. Otherwise, Raymond would have been close to success already."

"But there is a particular something they took from the Nina girl, which is what you will collect from him. As for the Alex guy, he is into drug transfers. Though he has nothing to do with the Nina girl being killed, he is a threat to the system’s existence."

"And the adopted girl, Viona. She might look angelic and soft, but she has a very venomous heart. She once burned down the orphanage, leaving almost every little life dead, just because she didn’t want her parents to later decide to adopt another girl. She strongly desires to be the only young lady of the Sunny family."

"As for the father and mother, they have no sin. The only sin they have is giving birth to a disaster as a son and adopting a venomous snake as a daughter," Anah explained.

A murderous smile appeared on Nova’s lips. "Oh well, what a surprise. They have such good merit, it will be a pity if they continue existing in this world," she murmured, her dark smile widening.

"The bastard daughter of a whore that leaked my husband’s identity to Edward, who is she?" she asked.

The information on the screen erased and was replaced with other information, including a lady’s picture.

"Her name is Ruby, 25 years old. A low-class underground officer with old parents. She is a Raymond admirer but was turned down multiple times by him. Her action was because Raymond told her he is married, so she wanted to go with the flow of ’since I can’t have you, then no one else will.’ She planned to bring Raymond down."

"Well, I guess she made the worst mistake of her life now," Nova chuckled.

"Well, I think you should hold down Alan first. He is determined to face Raymond tonight. Though you have informed Raymond ahead of time, Alan can still attack him at the station. He isn’t just an ordinary assassin that just received orders; he isn’t afraid of any location the target is in," Anah informed.

Nova chuckled. "Tonight... he isn’t going anywhere. My apologies in advance, but tonight’s mission has to fail, my dearest assassin mafia." Her eyes glowed with secrets.

"What are you going to do now? Explain everything to him?" Anah asked.

"Explain what?" Nova questioned, her hand pressing on the laptop. Then, suddenly, the loud moans and groans of a man and woman being intimate could be heard from the laptop. "This will do," she completed, her smile getting darker.

Anah, hearing the sound, lightly sighed. "I’m out of here," she said, and vanished along with the large screen.

"Ruby, right... let’s start with you," Nova murmured, staring into the distance, her dark smile never fading.

The next day...

It was noon. The sun cut in through the window, shining on the sleeping couple on the bed.

Alan stirred and slowly opened his eyes. He stood up from the bed and went over to the window, dropping the curtain on the window so that the sun wouldn’t disturb Nova.

He glanced back at Nova, and a smile spread on his face. Climbing back onto the bed, he gently caressed Nova’s cheek and pressed a gentle kiss on her lips.

"I should get you something to eat," he murmured, and was about to leave the bed when his phone started vibrating.

Without checking the caller ID, he picked up the call and placed it to his ear. "Hello," he said.

"Boss! I’ve been trying your number since yesterday, but you didn’t pick up. I was so worried, I’m on my way to your place now," a panicked voice echoed over the phone.

Alan’s eyes widened in shock, recalling he had a mission. "Damn it! Don’t come here. I... I was very busy with my life yesterday, I totally forgot. We will carry out the operation tonight," he replied almost in a whisper.

There was a long silence over the phone. "Boss, is it that father and daughter pair again? Boss, we can just take action against them," the voice echoed again.

Alan sighed. "It’s not them. You just go back first, I’ll give you a call later," Alan said, and ended the call. He stared at the still-sleeping Nova and pressed another kiss on her lips before going to the bathroom to bathe.

Once he was done, he exited the house. As soon as the sound of the door closing echoed, Nova slowly opened her eyes.

"This husband of mine is quite a stubborn type, I’ll have to act faster," Nova thought, standing up from the bed and entering the bathroom.

Several minutes later, she came back, dressed in Alan’s shirt. She was just about to open the door when the door was opened from the outside and Alan came in.

"You’re awake! Good afternoon," he said, holding a white mall bag in his left hand and a large box in his right hand.

"I bought you lunch," he said.

Nova smiled and took the big box. "Why such a large box? Do you want to move?" she asked, dropping it beside the bed.

"No... I see you don’t have any dresses here with me, so I bought you some. Have breakfast first," he said, handing the white bag to Nova.

Nova smiled, taking the bag from him. "Thank you," she said, and sat on the bed, opening the takeout and starting to eat.

"How’s... Mom?" Nova asked.

Alan blushed slightly, getting happy because Nova addressed his mom as her mom. "She... she is doing well, but she hasn’t given up on that bastard," he sighed helplessly.

Nova paused slightly before she continued eating. "Trust me... she’s not doing well," she murmured.
