Chapter 118:Allow me to do the honors
Chapter 118: 118:Allow me to do the honors
Nova raised an eyebrow, a dangerous smirk playing on her lips. "I just went outside to have a little fun. Why are you looking for me?" she asked calmly.
David swallowed hard. Staring deeply into Nova’s eyes, he raised a hand to caress her face, but she smoothly took two steps back, putting a calculated distance between them.
Seeing her retreat, David offered an awkward smile. "Little sister, I am going abroad and I want to take you with me. You haven’t been outside the country before, have you? Let’s go together."
Nova’s eyebrow arched higher. "Oh?" she murmured, a low chuckle escaping her throat. "Then I must thank my brother properly."
David chuckled in relief. "There’s no need for that," he said aloud. Inwardly, a dark thrill rushed through him. "Great, she agreed. I won’t have to drug her after all," he thought, staring at her hungrily. "Let’s go now. There’s no need to pack anything, I will buy everything you need when we reach our destination."
He reached out to grab her hand, but a furious voice echoed from the entrance, shattering the quiet.
"David, are you trying to flee with Jennifer? Do you have a death wish?" Corinthian stormed into the room, his voice trembling with rage. He wedged himself directly between them, glaring daggers at David.
The atmosphere in the room instantly shifted, growing thick and volatile. David gritted his teeth, barely suppressing his own fury. "I do want to elope with her. So what?" he spat back, his eyes flashing defiance.
Corinthian lunged, grabbing David fiercely by the collar. "Speak! Have you been harboring inappropriate feelings for her?" he demanded, his gaze boring into his brother’s.
"Tsk. Inappropriate, you say? Aren’t you exactly the same?" David sneered, swatting at Corinthian’s grip. "Eyeing your biological sister with those sinful eyes of yours every single time. You are really something else." He spat on the floor in utter disgust.
"I see you’re begging for a beating!" Corinthian snarled. He released David’s shirt only to drive a brutal punch into his brother’s nose.
David stumbled back several paces. He touched his face, feeling the warm blood leaking from his nose. His eyes darkened with lethal intent. "You are dead, Corinthian," he growled, launching himself forward.
The room devolved into a chaotic brawl. The two brothers tore into each other furiously, fists flying and heavy thuds echoing against the walls. The air grew heavy with the scent of sweat and sudden, ugly violence.
Just a step away from the bloodbath, Nova watched. A smooth, psychopathic smile graced her lips. The brutal display didn’t frighten her, instead, it entertained her.
"I must say, this scene looks rather familiar. Hm... which family’s brothers fought like this over me?" she murmured into the air.
"The Sunny family," Anah materialized beside Nova, her form completely invisible to the brawling men. She folded her arms, her expression utterly unimpressed.
"Ah, true... hehe," Nova chuckled. She strolled over to a nearby chair and seated herself, comfortably crossing her legs to enjoy the show.
After a few moments of watching the carnage, her amusement began to wane. "You both, don’t kill yourselves just yet. Allow me to do the honors," Nova commanded, her voice slicing cleanly through the chaos.
An unseen force seemed to lock the air itself, halting the brothers mid-blow. Both of their faces were now swollen, red, and utterly ridiculous. Panting heavily, they turned their bruised faces toward Nova.
"Little sister, go to your room. Don’t mind him, okay?" Corinthian coaxed. He tried to offer a harmless smile, but his battered cheek made the expression look grotesque.
Nova threw her head back and laughed. "Who is your little sister?" she mocked, her voice dripping with venom. "Foolish humans."
David knitted his brows in confusion. Then, a look of realization washed over his bloodied face. "Are you angry because of the fight just now? We aren’t usually like this," he tried to explain.
Nova lightly shook her head, idly admiring her beautiful, long fingernails. The playful energy vanished, replaced by a suffocating, predatory aura that instantly sucked the warmth from the room. She stood up, her movements terrifyingly fluid, and walked toward David, gently gripping both of his arms.
"A piece of advice for you before you breathe your last—it might be useful for you in your afterlife," Nova whispered. As she spoke, the pitch-black of her irises swirling with darkness suddenly transformed into a piercing, unnatural blue.
A bone-deep chill washed over David. His legs began to tremble uncontrollably. Locking eyes with those terrifying blue depths, he swallowed hard. The twisted lust he had felt moments ago evaporated, replaced by a primal, paralyzing terror he had never known.
Nova’s smile widened, exposing a darkness that shattered his sanity. "If a beautiful woman takes the initiative to approach you, or mysteriously appears in your family... flee immediately."
Without warning, Nova yanked David’s arms forward. The sickening sound of tearing flesh and snapping bone echoed through the room as she ripped both of his arms violently from their sockets—as effortlessly as tearing paper from a board. Fresh, hot blood splashed across her pale face like crimson ink.
David opened his mouth wide to unleash an agonizing scream, but no sound escaped. It was as if an invisible hand had crushed his vocal cords, trapping the scream in his throat and making the blinding pain even more unbearable.
"No, no, no shouting. I don’t like noises," Nova chided with a dark laugh.
"Jennifer! What do you think you are doing?!" Corinthian screamed in absolute terror. Fear paralyzed him so completely that his legs gave out, and he collapsed hard onto the floor.
"Demon! Demon!" he stuttered, scrambling backward toward the door. But before he could escape, a crushing, invisible weight slammed down upon him. He couldn’t move a single muscle, a cold sweat drenched his trembling body.
"Don’t rush out just yet! Haven’t you always eyed me? Here I am, a helpless little girl. Why do you want to run away?" Nova laughed, carelessly dropping David’s severed arms to the blood-soaked floor. She stepped smoothly toward Corinthian.
"No... no... stay away from me!" Corinthian whimpered, his eyes wide with impending doom.
Nova looked genuinely delighted by his struggling. "Don’t tell me to stay away, it hurts my feelings. Mhm, let’s end this quickly, then," she murmured.
Laughing darkly, she raised her hand. A dagger, hilted with a serpentine design, materialized into her grasp. She knelt beside Corinthian and drove the blade into his chest—stabbing him repeatedly, brutally, until the light of life finally vanished from his eyes.
She stood up and turned her attention back to David. She walked over to him, gently caressing his terrified face with the flat, blood-slicked side of the blade.
"How is the strong scent of blood in the air? Refreshing, right? Haha."
David was shivering violently, kneeling in a growing pool of his own blood. The terror in his eyes was absolute. Hot tears streamed down his face in silent, agonizing pleas for mercy, and a dark stain spread across his trousers.
Nova smiled harmlessly, a stark contrast to the massacre around her. She slowly circled him, finally stopping directly behind his back. "Let’s see whether your blood will smell nice, too," she whispered.
Before David’s shock-addled brain could even process her words, Nova violently thrust her bare hand straight through his back. Skin, muscle, and ribs gave way with a wet crunch until her bloody hand burst through the front of his chest, clutching his still-beating heart.
"Bye... bye," she murmured, yanking her arm back out.
David vomited a massive mouthful of blood, and his lifeless body collapsed onto the floor.
Nova stared emotionlessly at the mangled corpses. "Not bad" she murmured and toss the heart in her hand on the floor. Anah materialized quietly beside her.
"They died quite happily," Anah commented dryly. She snapped her fingers. Instantly, the brothers’ bodies turned to fine, gray dust. Not a single trace of flesh or bone remained. The massive pools of blood on the floor and the crimson splatters on the walls vanished completely, leaving the room pristine.
"Of course. I personally killed them, they should be thrilled," Nova replied, a wicked smirk returning to her lips. "Take care of the CCTV. I’m going to bathe."
Without a backward glance, she headed toward her room.
"Mhm," Anah hummed. She tilted her head, scanning the security camera mounted in the upper corner of the room. A sudden, blinding beam of blue light shot from her foggy eyes directly into the lens. A continuous, shrill beep echoed from the device for a long moment before it abruptly died. Anah blinked, severing the light, and vanished into thin air.
