Chapter 149: Siblings duel(2)

  • Next Chapter

Rona came flying through the air, and crashing into the wall.

The entire wall shook.

Before she could hit the ground, chains wrapped around her waist. Rona was dragged backward just as a sword came down where she had landed.

She rolled across the ground.

"Again!"

She jumped back to her feet.

Brin was already charging. Her sword swung toward Elias’s neck.

He ducked and the blade passed over his head.

He created another sword and attacked.

CLANG!

Brin’s sword collided with his and she was pushed backwards.

Rona came from the side, which was supposed to be his blind spot, but he immediately created a spear.

Rona didn’t stop.

She ducked beneath the spear and threw herself at his legs.

Elias jumped.

Rona’s arms caught nothing.

He landed behind her and kicked her off. She slid only a couple of steps back and lunged back to him on fours, grabbing his arm with both hands and pulled.

Elias stumbled.

Brin’s sword came again.

He blocked it partially. The impact forced him backward.

Then—

Crack!

Something tore through the air.

Elias’ eyes widened slightly and he immediately jumped sideways.

A whip struck the ground.

The yard shook and the stone shattered.

The students froze. Just like Elias, all eyes moved to Jordan.

He was several meters away. His hand was raised, but there was nothing in it.

This was when they believed that he didn’t use an ability to knock them out.

Elias’s eyes scanned the field. The one person he was slightly wary of was the boy who wasn’t attacking.

Something invisible snapped through the air again.

Elias raised his sword.

An invisible whip wrapped around the blade and yanked it off.

The sword flew from Elias’s hand. Before it could hit the ground, Elias created another.

Brin attacked and he blocked.

Finally, the little boy’s chain came from behind.

Elias turned, caught the chain and smirked.

"Got you."

He yanked the chain and the boy flew forward.

Elias caught him by the collar.

"You’re Fin, right?"

Fin began to wiggle.

Rona appeared.

"Let go!" Her fist slammed into Elias’s side.

He released the boy and staggered back with a chuckle.

"You twins really are different from each other."

Rona didn’t give him time. She attacked again.

A wide punch. Elias leaned back.

A kick. He moved aside.

Another punch. He blocked.

Rona grabbed his arm and grinned. Then she bit down on his sleeve.

Elias stared at her.

"Seriously?"

She laughed and flipped out of his sight. Bora attacked right after.

All this while, Jordan didn’t really do anything. He just stretched his hand and watched them. Everyone could tell that he was getting annoyed.

The students stood at the entrance, still staring in shock.

Kael slowly lowered his hand.

"Are they trying to kill him?"

"More like, is he trying to kill them?" Davon scoffed. "His whole family is a den of monsters."

"You guys are here." Rolarza’s voice caught their attention. She walked up to them. "They are having a sibling duel."

"It’s obvious, smarty." Tiana scoffed.

Rolarza bent down. "Do you have a problem with me?"

"Why are you hanging out with Elias so casually?" Tiana shamelessly pouted.

"What’s wrong with that?"

"And you dare to steal Mona from me too!"

Rolarza glanced back at the spot she was sitting. Quil and Mona were there, watching the fight.

"Actually, he’s just my friend...I’m not sure. He just seems familiar."

"He’s Elias." Anya said.

"..."

Rolarza glanced back. "I’m talking about the one with the horns."

"He’s Elias." Tiana repeated Anya’s words.

"Huh?"

"Can I watch the fight in peace?" Claude shut them up.

They all returned their attention to the fight.

At this point, Jordan wasn’t doing anything.

"What’s up with him this time?" Kael muttered.

"I don’t understand his ability but," Claude narrowed his eyes. "I don’t think he’s confident with using it to fight Elias when his younger siblings are there."

"It looks destructive." Fayera said. "Elias might match it, but the younger ones can’t."

"Or he’s just pouting, and wants to fight Elias alone." Sienna grinned.

The fight continues to drag out, with neither side backing down.

But at some point, Rona rushed forward. Brin moved at the same time. Fin’s chain shot across the ground.

Then Elias stopped completely.

His sword vanished, and his eyes stared ahead.

Rona stopped first.

Brin’s sword halted inches from him.

The chain fell loosely to the ground.

Jordan tilted his head.

"Irue?"

Everyone stared at Elias.

Even the students at the entrance went silent.

"Elias?"

He didn’t respond.

Sienna sighed. "Oh boy. I was hoping this won’t happen."

"What?" The students gazed at her.

"Why is he just standing there?"

She shrugged. "He’s becoming more like his father."

A second passed.

Then—

Thump.

His consciousness returned and his eyes widened. He suddenly covered them with both hands.

Blood slipped between his fingers.

"Elias!"

He staggered backward. His breathing became uneven.

He tried to remain standing, but his foot caught against the ground.

He fell.

Brin immediately rushed over.

"Move." She slightly shoved Rona aside.

She knelt beside him.

"How bad does it hurt?"

Elias kept his hands over his eyes.

"My head is ringing."

Brin looked at Jordan who walked to them.

He grabbed the piece of cloth hanging loosely around his neck and gave it to her.

She collected it, and quickly wrapped the cloth around Elias’s eyes and tied it behind his head.

"It’ll go down."

"You sure?" He asked.

"No."

Then his fingers slowly lowered. The cloth remained over his eyes.

Brin looked at him.

"Better?"

Elias nodded.

"...Yeah."

He stood up and glanced at Jordan. "You only attacked twice."

Jordan pouted and looked away. "Let’s have another duel later! Just you and me!"

"Sure!"

"Can we do it now?!" Rona jumped. "I’ll get the ink!"

Brin nodded. "I’ll get the piercer!"

The girls ran off.

The students parted ways as they left the yard.

"Ink and piercer? That doesn’t sound nice." Kael muttered.

"They want to dress him up." Sienna replied. "He doesn’t look like a black empire citizen yet."

The students glanced at him, and back at Jordan. There were differences.

While Elias wore a casual top and trouser, Jordan wore a robe. His ears were pierced and he had markings on his body.

"So that’s what the ink and piercer is for." Kael shivered.

Sienna walked up to Elias.

"I see you’re having fun."

"Step mother."

Her eyes twitched.

"Why did you ask for my name if you are calling me step mother?"

"I forgot the name."

"..."

"..."

She sighed.

"Can you take a trip to the northern empire district for me? Think of it as catching up. Of course, Jordan can go with you."

Jordan’s eyes sparkled at the idea.

"Why?" Elias asked.

"To get ingredients. Your father is transferring the mark."
