Chapter 148: Siblings duel

  • Next Chapter

It was an hour later, before the students began to wake up. When they sat up, they saw that all of them, who wanted to fight Prince Jordan, were piled up in a corner.

The student council were sitting down, watching a sparring match. This match was between Prince Jordan and the maidens.

It wasn’t like anything they had expected, so it left them dumbfounded.

Jordan was facing all seven maidens, no vital energy or ability, but that wasn’t the main point. The dread was the force in the maidens strike.

Each blow and kick shifted the wind. No doubt, a single punch would take out a professor.

Another fascinating dread was that they were all blindfolded.

Jordan stood in the middle of the courtyard. The seven maidens spread around him.

A fist came straight for his face, and he leaned sideways. The fist passed beside his cheek, carrying enough force to make his hair flutter.

Before the maiden could recover, another came from behind. He ducked.

A kick swept over his head right immediately. He caught the ankle.

The maiden twisted in midair and used his grip to swing herself around, bringing her other leg toward his head.

Jordan released her and jumped back.

The kick missed and slammed into the ground, shattering the rocky yard.

The moment his foot touched the ground, three more maidens rushed him.

One attacked from the front and two came from opposite sides.

Jordan lowered his body.

The first fist passed over his head.

He stepped inside the attack and drove his shoulder into the maiden’s chest, sending her stumbling backward.

By now, all the students were left speechless. They just watched the fight.

"It’s fascinating that they are already fighting blindfolded at this age." Carlel mumbled.

Claude glanced at her.

"Is there a different meaning behind it?"

"The Black-eyed eyes are more sensitive than any other organ in their body, but also have no restraint. No limit," she explained. "Their eyes don’t hit a wall. Their visuals keep expanding. They wear blindfolds to put restrictions on their eyes."

"Isn’t it a good thing?" Anya asked.

"It can drive lunacy. Imagine seeing everything, atoms, molecules, sound waves, magnetic fields, energy, souls or humans within a large area at the same time."

"Oh..."

They continued to watch the fight.

"Elias doesn’t seem like that though." Tiana said.

Carlel glanced at her. "Actually, he does. You just didn’t notice. When he looks at someone, it’s like he has read the person’s existence. It’s a bit creepy."

"Hmmm." They all agreed.

"I won’t be surprised if he told you what happened in your past." She added.

They all froze.

"What?" Tiana asked.

"Their eyes can see almost everything in this timeline. This is current. But Elias, he is different," she glanced at everyone who cared to listen. "I had a conversation with Mona this morning, and he called me Caelmyr."

Fayera narrowed her eyes. "But your name is Carlel."

"I told you to call me Carlel, but it was Caelmyr from birth. I stopped using it before I turned six. How does he know that?"

They all felt an unexplainable shiver running down their spine.

"..."

They exchanged glances.

Elias had always been a silent one, and seemed very uninterested in whatever was happening, but, what if he was uninterested because he already knows it.

The door opening interrupted them. A boy rushed in. He looked about the same age as Rona.

He ran towards the duelers, and entered their space. Somehow he skillfully avoided each kick and blow, then caught Jordan’s hand.

They all stopped.

Jordan pulled down the blindfold and bent down to his height. The boy began to speak, and this was the first time the students heard the black empire language.

They didn’t understand.

"If I knew black empire was another world, I would have brought a translator device." Anya whined.

Coco snorted. "He said Irue just came to the children’s palace, and told us to meet him in the second yard. Brin is there too."

They all glanced at her.

"You understand them?"

"If you don’t understand, then you need vital energy training." Claude replied.

As soon as the boy finished speaking, Jordan was already halfway across the yard. The maidens ran after him.

"Your highness!

"Stop running!"

"You’ll fall!"

Rona and the boy followed right after.

Kael scoffed. "The way this prince’s mood changes every time is baffling."

"Did you see that?" Fayera narrowed her eyes. "That boy..."

Tyler nodded. "His eyes are sharp, and energy is too calm. You might think he’s unawakened."

Both Tyler and Fayera glanced at themselves afterwards. This was because this was the first time they had a conversation directed at themselves.

"We should go watch the fight right?" Anya asked. "I kinda want to see it."

The students agreed, and left the place together. However, they had no idea where the yard was, and just wandered around on guesswork.

They finally ran into Sienna.

As soon as they saw her, they bowed.

"Your highness."

She smiled. "Skip the formalities. How is your first day in black empire?"

"Your son knocked us out." A girl pouted.

"I noticed." She laughed.

"That was not fair. His ability gave him an advantage."

Sienna led the way and they followed. "Jordan didn’t use an ability. He just released his energy."

"But..."

"He only released his energy."

"Energy is not usually harmful to another person!" A boy yelled.

The rest nodded.

Sienna chuckled softly. "I don’t know about that."

She glanced at Claude. "You seem to have reached the level of vital attack. You’d make a good opponent for Jordan."

"I’ll kindly pass." He rejected. "The last thing I want is facing all these monsters."

"Are you the one to call people monsters, when you’re one yourself?"

He went silent.

"Elias told me your ability," they stopped walking. "The judge right? Impose a law."

"Why would he tell you about my ability?"

"He told me to tell you this. Instead of creating a law, why not use it as a curse?"

Claude’s eyes widened.

"A curse."

She stretched her hand. "I can personally teach you about it. Should I?"

"..."

"It’s a rare opportunity too."

He sighed. "Fine. Since Elias suggested it."

Kael suddenly turned his eyes.

He looked toward another hall.

A rain of swords was falling from the sky. Hundreds of them in the distance. They struck the ground one after another, ringing through the walls.

Kael stared. "Is that Elias’s ability?"

Everyone turned their gazes. Another wave of swords fell.

They all looked at each other, then they ran toward the hall.

When they reached the training yard, the sound became louder.

BOOM!

The doors were pushed open.

Rona came flying through the air.
