Synthetic Wizard

Chapter 344 - 211: Undead Transformation

“Fakado and his group have decided to join the academy.”

In the study, Sunan, Rose, and Scepter sat facing each other.

Hearing Scepter’s words, Sunan’s expression remained calm, unsurprised.

Ever since inviting Fakado and the others, he knew they would eventually agree to join Starlight Academy.

Unless they didn’t want to improve their strength and advance as Wizards, they surely couldn’t resist the allure of freely exchanging resources.

Across the Starlight Continent, only Starlight Academy (Star Alliance) has enough resources to support their advancement as Wizards.

“Other Wizard Apprentices from the Russell Clan have also joined the academy.”

Scepter took a sip of floral tea, the aroma of Calming Flower slightly lifted his Spirit.

“Additionally, the wizard qualification assessment in the Northwest Domain just concluded last month, and a new batch of students arrived at the academy yesterday, totaling five hundred and twenty-three individuals. The total number of students at the academy now exceeds fourteen hundred.”

Sunan nodded slightly, “What about the number of Level 2 Wizard Apprentices?”

“One hundred and two,” Scepter replied without hesitation, indicating his familiarity with the academy’s development, “The number is still growing; in twenty or thirty years, it’s likely the number of Level 2 Wizard Apprentices will surpass three hundred.”

Sunan nodded in understanding.

From the era of the base to the present academy, after years of accumulation, Level 2 Wizard Apprentices are now at the cusp of booming, and the speed of their increase will only grow faster in the future.

As for Level 3 Wizard Apprentices, that’s still far off.

We’ll wait until the first student at Starlight Academy advances to Level 3 Wizard Apprentice.

“With over fourteen hundred students, if not for the addition of four mentors, just handling classes would soon become overwhelming for me,” Rose complained slightly.

Scepter nodded in deep agreement.

The number of mentors at Starlight Academy is still too few, nearly a five hundred to one ratio, placing great pressure on the three of them.

If teaching didn’t offer so many Contribution Points, they would have protested long ago.

Thankfully, with the addition of Fakado and his group, the pressure isn’t as intense now.

Sunan smiled slightly, “Thank you for your hard work.”

After a pause, he considered, “If any of you know any Level 3 Wizard Apprentices, feel free to invite them. As long as they can pass the approval of most of us mentors, they can join the academy as mentors.”

“No problem!” Scepter replied with a smile, “I happen to know a few people.”

Rose also agreed to reach out.

“By the way, where’s Traveler?” Sunan finally remembered the one absent.

“He’s gone into seclusion,” Rose said, “Traveler plans to transform himself into a semi-elemental being to extend his life.”

After a pause, she added, “Actually, I’ve been planning on doing semi-elemental transformation myself recently.”

“Me too,” Scepter said with a serious expression, “I plan to exchange some High-tier Sub-dragon Species blood and undergo bloodline fusion.”

Sunan was slightly moved.

The plans of Rose and the other two reminded him that they hadn’t yet undergone life-extending Biological Transformation surgery.

As far as Sunan knows, Wizard Apprentices aiming to extend their lifespan typically have three methods aside from consuming special potions like the Dawn Potion.

Besides semi-elemental transformation and bloodline fusion, another option is transforming into an undead state.

Completely converting the body and soul to undead form, thereby achieving significant lifespan extension.

Of course, Wizard Apprentices in undead form are not truly eternal; they just gain an additional two to three hundred years, an increase far beyond the first two options.

But the price is exceedingly high.

First, the transformation conditions are stringent, with a low success rate.

Aside from requiring a substantial amount of resources, one needs a place rich in negative energy, like the Black Forest, as the transformation site.

Even if all conditions are met, the success rate of transformation won’t exceed twenty percent.

Secondly, even with extreme luck for successful transformation, future growth in strength is unlikely, making advancement as a Wizard nearly impossible.

To extend their lifespan, most Wizard Apprentices aim for more time to advance as Wizards; hence, the undead transformation is considered counterproductive, and few choose this method.

In comparison, although semi-elemental transformation and bloodline fusion increase lifespan less, they offer potential for progress and hope for advancement.

However, most Wizards in the apprentice stage avoid semi-elemental transformation and bloodline fusion.

Considering that during this stage, Biological Transformation offers limited strength enhancement and might even hinder future development.

It’s best to wait until advancing as a Wizard to choose a more powerful bloodline fusion, or undergo deeper elemental transformation, which is more advantageous for future growth.

Yet, Wizard Apprentices across the Starlight Continent have few options.

Since joining Starlight Academy, Rose and her companions no longer lack resources, but they ultimately ’wasted’ much time before, making straightforward advancement before dying highly unlikely.

Thus, they can only choose semi-elemental transformation and bloodline fusion.

Even so, their probability of advancing to Official Wizard is still extremely low, less than ten percent.

Even less promising than apprentices like Sherman and Cole.

At least the latter are highly likely to advance to Level 3 Wizard Apprentices before fifty, providing them with much more time to charge towards being a Wizard in the future, increasing their chances of success.

To be honest, Sunan wouldn’t mind Star Alliance gaining another Wizard or two.

In the future confrontation with the Dark Throne, another Wizard or two could mean more combat strength.
