Chapter 209 - 144: Mysterious Prize, Points Assessment
Chapter 209: Chapter 144: Mysterious Prize, Points Assessment
Starlight Calendar Year 1257, Month of Summerlong (June).
Flash City, Dragon Heart Knight Academy.
The weather is hot, with a gentle breeze blowing.
The academy is also enveloped in a fervent atmosphere.
Today is the day for the first graduating class’s assessment at Dragon Heart Knight Academy.
Early in the morning, many fourth-year students who are about to graduate gathered at the training ground, discussing the upcoming graduation assessment.
“I wonder what form the graduation assessment will take?”
“The academy really keeps it secretive, waiting until we arrive at the assessment location to tell us the specifics.”
“No matter what it is, since the assessment is held in the underground world, it won’t be easy.”
“I’ve heard the underground world is very dangerous, filled with monsters everywhere. Hopefully, the academy doesn’t make the assessment too difficult.”
The students gathered in small groups, buzzing with conversations.
Outside the training ground, students from the other three grades were also watching curiously, hoping to gather some information, since they would eventually face the same assessment.
“Sean!”
Sean finally squeezed through the crowd of lower-year students into the training ground, looking around for his friend’s figure, when he heard a familiar voice calling out.
Turning his head, he saw Luger and Solano waving at him.
“Why are you so late?”
Walking up, Luger playfully punched Sean’s shoulder.
Sean scratched his cheek and smiled, “The headmaster called me over for a chat.”
Instantly, Luger’s eyes lit up. He sidled up to Sean, wrapped an arm around his shoulder, and whispered mysteriously, “Did the headmaster tell you any intel about the graduation assessment? Share it with me, we’re brothers after all!”
Sean shook his head, “Don’t overthink it, you know how strict the academy rules are. There’s no way the headmaster would break the rules; he just gave me some words of encouragement.”
Luger was disappointed.
“What the heck, the headmaster is too rigid. You’re the top of the fourth year, what’s the harm in sharing some intel?”
“It’s because Sean is the top of the fourth year that the headmaster believes he can achieve great results and won’t violate the rules to privately help him,” Solano smiled softly, dimples appearing, as she turned to Sean, “Sean, are you ready?”
“No problem!”
Sean raised his right hand, brimming with confidence, flexing his muscles.
“This time, I’ll surely claim first place again!”
Luger said enviously, “I heard that the top five in the assessment will receive a Level 3 Dragon Blood Fruit and a mysterious prize.”
The higher the level of Dragon Blood Fruit, the stronger the effect.
The lowest Level 1 Dragon Blood Fruit is exclusively for trainee knights.
The academy’s first and second-year students, and some third-year students who haven’t yet advanced to knights, typically consume Level 1 Dragon Blood Fruit.
Level 2 Dragon Blood Fruit is exclusively for knights.
Only students who advanced to knights are eligible to consume this level of Dragon Blood Fruit.
As for Level 3 Dragon Blood Fruit, it’s said that just one can help a Middle Knight break through to become a High Knight.
Among this year’s graduates, including Sean, there are a total of eighteen Middle Knights.
If they can obtain a Level 3 Dragon Blood Fruit, they can immediately break through to become High Knights.
How could this not make people envious?
“How wonderful, I want a Level 3 Dragon Blood Fruit too,” Luger said, full of envy.
Solano chuckled, “The top five will surely be dominated by the Middle Knight students. Let’s aim for the top fifty instead; even the top fifty can get a Level 2 Dragon Blood Fruit.”
“The effect of Level 2 Dragon Blood Fruit is quite a bit weaker though,” Luger muttered.
But being an optimist, Luger soon brushed off the matter and shifted to talk about the mysterious prize.
“What do you think the so-called mysterious prize is?”
“I suspect it’s something from the base,” Solano said, a hint of longing in her eyes. “I’ve heard there are many magical things there, including Dragon Blood Fruit.”
“Could it be a legendary magical item?”
“Unlikely, I’ve heard magical items can only be used by wizards, not knights.”
“Maybe it’s a potion…”
Luger and Solano eagerly discussed, while Sean remained silent, with a slightly odd expression.
Earlier, the headmaster called him over not only for encouragement but also to reveal the true nature of the so-called mysterious prize.
Luger was actually right; it’s a magical item.
It’s called ’Magic Pattern Armor,’ a powerful magical item that knights can also use.
The headmaster added that all graduates would be allocated a set of Level 1 Magic Pattern Armor, but only the top five exemplary students would receive a more powerful set of Level 2 Magic Pattern Armor.
Apparently, when a High Knight equips a Level 2 Magic Pattern Armor, they immediately gain Grand Knight Level combat strength!
When Sean heard this, he was stunned.
Being able to make a High Knight as powerful as a Grand Knight, the effect of Magic Pattern Armor is simply absurd!
If it wasn’t the headmaster who said it, he would not have believed it.
“People always say magical items from wizards are amazing and mysterious. I didn’t quite believe it before, but it turns out the rumors are true,” Sean secretly marveled.
Imagining teaming up with the legendary wizards after the graduation assessment when joining the knight squad, he couldn’t help but feel a surge of excitement, sensing a whole new world beckoning to him.
“Sean, what are you daydreaming about?”
Luger suddenly waved his hand in front of Sean, interrupting his train of thought.
