Chapter 208 - 143: Tier 3 Magic Pattern Armor, First Deputy (Part 2)

Chapter 208: Chapter 143: Tier 3 Magic Pattern Armor, First Deputy (Part 2)

Sunan initially wanted to craft another Refined Gold Golem, but the profits from the last few months were nearly exhausted after covering the expenses of crafting Magic Pattern Armor.

After all, more ore veins need to be found.

Especially silver ore veins, as he was still waiting for Mithril to craft Secret Puppets.

“I wonder how the exploration is progressing?”

With this in mind, Sunan summoned two golems to find Carolina and the Red Widow.

The two women happened to be in Ghost Lake City, and they arrived not long after.

“Master!”

Carolina and the Red Widow bowed simultaneously upon entering.

Sunan nodded and casually asked, “What have you found during this time of exploration?”

Carolina stepped forward and replied, “Master, to the east, 120 kilometers away, there’s a massive swamp occupied by thousands of Underground Toad Monsters and sludge monsters. I’ve already sent people to clear them, but it might take some time to solve the problem.”

“About 150 kilometers to the north, the exploration team encountered several Eye Demon Tribes, including quite a few Legendary Level demons. I’m working on a solution to deal with these Eye Demon Tribes.”

Eye Demon Tribes?

Sunan’s gaze flickered slightly.

In the underground world’s food chain, Eye Demons are considered mid to high-tier.

This species has weak close-combat skills but is very proficient in Illusion Techniques and charming other species to fight for them.

Knights and Grand Knights without elemental power are easily affected by the illusions of Eye Demons.

If facing multiple Eye Demons at once, the outcome is basically certain death.

In the underground world, Eye Demons usually live in small groups.

They directly control servants and slaves, existing in tribal forms.

Typically, a tribe will have one or more Legendary Level Eye Demons.

Among these Legendary Level Eye Demons, there’s a small chance for variants to emerge, such as the Elder Eye, Warlord Eye, Broodmother Eye, or Abyssal Eye.

These variants are often very powerful, even more formidable than an average Level 3 Wizard Apprentice.

They will integrate multiple Eye Demon Tribes, controlling more slaves and servants, eventually forming a more powerful city-state.

In Sunan’s memory, any city-state where Eye Demons gather in the underground world is ruled by Eye Demon variants.

“If it’s just Eye Demon Tribes, that’s fine. Illusion Techniques and charm abilities don’t work on puppets. Take more Dual-bladed Spiders and clear out those Eye Demons as soon as possible,” Sunan said, waving his hand.

“Yes, my lord!” Carolina sighed slightly with relief.

Since the start of the exploration, her people hadn’t discovered any ore veins or other resource points. If her master blamed her for this, she wouldn’t have any reasons to justify herself.

Luckily, her master understood her situation.

Sunan paid no attention to Carolina’s change in expression and turned to look at the Red Widow.

“How about on your side?”

The Red Widow smiled and said, “Thanks to the master, I found an iron ore mine to the west. We’re currently exploring its reserves, initially estimating it to be at least a medium-sized vein.”

Sunan was slightly taken aback and then smiled, “Well done.”

“It’s my honor to work for the master.”

The Red Widow’s smile deepened as she glanced at Carolina, a hint of pride in her eyes.

Carolina saw this and clenched her teeth in frustration.

Sunan pretended not to notice the small interactions between them, continuing to ask, “Is there anything else?”

“Yes, master.”

The Red Widow quickly replied:

“The exploration team also discovered a large Minotaur Tribe to the south, estimated to have a population of over five hundred. We tried to trade with them and obtained some raw gold ore.”

Upon hearing this, Sunan became very interested.

Raw gold ore meant that the Minotaur Tribe likely controlled a gold ore vein.

Minotaurs aren’t adept at smelting, and if there are no dwarves in the tribe, they can’t smelt the gold ore even if they dig it up, so they can only trade it.

“I am still investigating further details, but it’s very likely that they control a gold ore vein,” the Red Widow said with a smile.

“Very good.” Sunan displayed an appreciative smile, “If it’s confirmed that the tribe truly possesses a gold ore vein, immediately deploy our forces to conquer it!”

Adult Minotaurs have combat abilities ranging from Junior Knight to Senior Knight.

A Minotaur Tribe with more than five hundred members is already considered a significant force in the underground world. Even if they control a gold ore vein, not many would dare to target them.

Yet the Star Alliance is an exception.

With the current strength of the Star Alliance, exterminating a Minotaur Tribe is a piece of cake.

“Yes, master.” The Red Widow replied respectfully.

After discussing exploration matters, Sunan was about to dismiss them when Carolina suddenly handed over a letter.

“Master, a letter has arrived from Sherman.”

Sunan understood; it was probably regarding the development of the New Magic Plant Garden.

However, upon receiving the letter and opening it, he was a bit surprised.

“Land Dragon?”

This unique underground creature, how did it appear on the surface?

Could there be an entrance to the underground world near Ryan City?

Seeing Sunan lost in thought for a long time, the Red Widow couldn’t help but ask curiously, “Master, what happened?”

Sunan didn’t answer, tossing the letter to them to read.

After reading it, the Red Widow and Carolina also appeared surprised.

“Send someone to Ryan City to retrieve the corpse of the Land Dragon. Also, find out where it came from. If there’s indeed an underground entrance, contact the local lord to seal it off and report back to me immediately.”

Sunan didn’t ponder for long and quickly gave the order.

If it was merely a simple entrance to the underground world, he wouldn’t be too concerned.

After all, there were many unexplored areas around the Star Alliance, and with maps not fully charted, he didn’t have the energy to open a second entrance.

But if there were Sub-dragon Species on the other side of the entrance, that would be different.

If they could capture large quantities of Sub-dragon Species or find High-tier Sub-dragon Species, they could extract their blood to speed up the enhancement of the Hidden Dragon’s bloodline concentration.

That’s his true concern.

“I didn’t expect to find clues about Sub-dragon Species so quickly. I hope it yields results.”

Sunan pondered silently.

If there were indeed many Sub-dragon Species on the other side of the entrance, he’d have to go there personally.

Having been under Sunan for so long, both Carolina and the Red Widow knew their master was always searching for traces of Sub-dragon Species and took it very seriously. Hence, after hearing his words, they responded with solemn expressions.

“Alright, you may leave now.” Sunan waved his hand.

The two nodded and withdrew.

Upon leaving the study, Carolina quickened her pace, but soon heard the wind sound behind her. The Red Widow had caught up gracefully, with a teasing smile.

“Why are you in such a hurry? Rushing to handle the swamp and Eye Demon Tribes? Or are you preparing to immediately send people to Ryan City?”

Carolina said expressionlessly, “Don’t be complacent. This time you were just lucky. It’s still unclear who will win or lose next.”

“The fact is I’m a step ahead of you now.” The Red Widow raised her index finger to her lips, smiling sweetly, “One step ahead, step by step ahead. By the time you solve the swamp and Eye Demon Tribes’ issues, I’ll have found more ore veins.”

Carolina’s eye twitched slightly, glaring at the Red Widow before quickening her pace.

Already lagging behind the Red Widow in the race to explore ore veins, she absolutely couldn’t lose to her in investigating the Land Dragon. She had to find the Land Dragon’s origin before the Red Widow.

The Red Widow didn’t pursue further and watched Carolina walk away, her smile fading into a contemptuous curl of her lips.

Of course, she guessed Carolina’s intentions, which were nothing more than trying to make a comeback with the Land Dragon matter.

But unfortunately, she wasn’t going to give her the chance.

This time, she intended to stay a step ahead of Carolina as well.

The longer she stayed under Sunan’s command, the more she sensed his power.

As long as Sunan remained, the Star Alliance’s strength would continue to grow and its territory would expand, eventually becoming the overlord of the underground world.

And if she could maintain her position as Sunan’s right-hand, when the Star Alliance became the ruler of the underground world, she would also become a significant figure in it!

Thinking of this made her whole body heat up with excitement.
