The expedition spent the night on the lower slope of the mountain.

No one slept comfortably.

Subin looked back at the wolves.

The wolves remained still.

He pointed toward the lower slope.

The wolves remained still.

The other two followed.

The path opened.

"...You really negotiated with them."

Subin walked past.

"They made the decision."

Yerin followed.

"You didn't even use an ability."

"No."

"Then why did they let us pass?"

Subin glanced back.

"Because we weren't behaving like predators."

That answer stayed with Yerin for a while.

The expedition continued.

The environment became increasingly hostile.

Then it disappeared into the forest surrounding the summit.

The expedition remained silent.

Kang Min-seok finally spoke.

"Did we just... get spared?"

Subin sheathed Simple Edge.

"No."

Yerin looked at him.

"Then what happened?"

Subin stared toward the forest.

"We were evaluated."

The researcher looked at his instruments.

"By a Level 101 A+ monster."

Subin nodded.

"And we haven't finished."

The system appeared again.

Subin dismissed the notifications.

"Next time," he said quietly, "I won't just show you my sword."

He looked toward the enormous Mana Tree.
