Chi Yan restrained his temper and quickly skimmed through the messages from beginning to end. When he saw the chat from last night between the two people, he was so angry his nose went crooked.

He took advantage of He Yue not returning yet and directly deleted the problem-solving text from Ning Chenguang, as if the message had never arrived.

When He Yue came back, Chi Yan was already seated. He was resting his chin on his hand, twirling a long thin pencil between his other fingers in different patterns.

"Back?" he greeted proactively when he saw He Yue return. However, his voice was still lazy, carrying a sort of cynical attitude.

"Mmm." He Yue nodded, sat down, and began to rummage through her drawer for her phone. Seeing that there was no message back from Ning Chenguang, she furrowed her brows in distress.

Chi Yan took in the whole scene, smirking to himself.

The second class, the algebra teacher didn’t come. It was said that the teacher’s child fell sick suddenly last night, so the teacher was on leave at the hospital with the child and couldn’t come. The class monitor told everyone to self-study.

There was a study group in the class, with four people per group helping each other with problems they couldn’t solve.

That way, everyone could make progress together.

This study group was organized by the desks in front and behind, so He Yue and Chi Yan were in the same group.

Shortly after class started, the math class representative announced the arrangement for the teacher, telling the study groups to help each other with unsolvable problems.

So, He Yue and her desk mate turned around to join in the discussion.
